I enjoy cooking, but not really for other people. Customers will always want things 'their way' and I don't have the patience or stress-handling skills for restaurant work anymore. I'd suck at running a business too and there are literally hundreds of restaurants in this city. Very few make it a year.

Then again, I've has USwest/Qwest/CL for decades..and had good service even on dialup/ADSL. Must be lucky.
Love teh VDSL2 though...$30/mo for POTS and 15/5 is spiffy IMO.

My fall term (a heavy one) ended yesterday. Supposed to be off right away to NYC and points east for family/holidays. But I need need need some recovery time. So I think I've decided (gulp) to push the trip to after the holidays, and create a nice block of demand-reduced time. Re recovery, to be continued over at Light at End of Tunnel.

I have fellow Friars and associates in the Chicago/Joliet area that have been requesting a visit.....but there is no sense of urgency in that. At best I would wait till it is warmer to make that trek. A local told me about Mega Bus that does the Chicago/St Louis trip for only $63 round trip...but that is about the same as if I were to fly. Hire a car locally and just do my thing.
