There's another aspect, too, to our staying home: when I smoked, I was really annoyed when they made the laws about no smoking in restaurants... but I put up with it, because having been married to 2 non-smokers, I'm aware that non-smokers don't like the smell -- and now I don't either! But now that I vape... so much MORE healthy and LESS stinky... but I would still have to go outdoors? Fuck that noise. I'll stay home and keep my money, rather than give it to ignorant fatheads. Fuck 'em all!!!!!!!!

Here in Ripley, when the banning in restaurants began, the Chinese place we go to kept a smoking area and could do to some grandfathering clause. It was up toward the front end by the door yet had adequate ventilation via HVAC vents in the ceiling above it. Well, one evening when me and her went to supper there, after finishing I lit a cigarette up and had one of the nice young ladies bring me one the disposable 'tin' ashtrays. i thought nothing of it until one old lady in the back 'seemed' to be whispering to her friend, another old lady at her table. The 'whisper' though was loud enough it was heard.
"Why look at that disgusting man, in a fine dinning atmosphere and ruins it by smoking. There's a law against it. We ought to talk to the fellow running the place."
The fellow running the place got a broad and 'loving' grin on his lips. He chuckled and pointed to the small placard on his wall at the front where we sat. That placard read; "Smoking Here Only". He pointed then to where i was seated.
"That smoke area, he smoke okay there. I talk to law man and is all okay he say."
He then turned and flashed me a big grin, went on into the back to do what he enjoyed, cooking.
I was glad he had 'settled' the issue as he did. Told my wife I was a hair from getting up and pitching them out. *chuckles*
Now, the Chinese place has moved a little bit and due to this, it is a fully non-smoking place inclusive of vaping. I do not mind curbing myself while in there. I have a time or two got my mod out of my pocket and at hand when getting ready to leave. The guy running the place nods, smiles. He told me once.
"Much better, cigarette many poisons. Steamer box not so many."
I smiled back and nodded.
So yep, I understand staying home even to vape. It doesn't though deter me if we're out. I reckon because of an awareness that no matter where you you'll find someone being an a-hole, and there you are.
I felt real good two days ago, when I gave wife's BIL the PIF Dripbox2. Sure he's an a-hole most of the time & I don't particularly like him. Well, I remembered an old adage, "kill 'em with kindness."
It turns out that it does seem to "add a spoonful of sugar to help the medicine go down." *chuckles*
But then the other evening I got fussy regarding her sister. She had come over to stand in our door way during us watching wrestling.
"Are y'all gonna wash clothes soon," she asked my wife.
"Hadn't planned on it, why," replied my wife.
She held up a pair or two of her own pants. "I was wanting these washed."
My wife just shook her head no. "Nope, we're all caught up for a little bit. Sorry."
I grumbled under my breath when the sister had gone, "fuck you, I don't wash your clothes."
My wife chuckled.
"Not your husband either," I continued "If I was you'd be out of a husband," I concluded.
"Ben," my wife says quietly.
"I know, shut up hubbay," I said.
I will be so glad of December.
