Hits the spot after a week of malts.

lol - I hear that! I went to unflavored to recover. Now I'm just vaping super-light percents of flavors I usually avoid. Gotta jolt my taste buds back to attention.

...and I love malts, lol. I really do think you made a breakthrough. Some form of them will be in my weekly rotation... in another week or two.;)

I'm not familiar with the term green leaf tobaccos. Is it a non-cured tobacco flavor? Like grassy?

There was a time when most cigar wrappers in the US market were cured to preserve chlorophyll -- and thus greenish. But I was making a more general reference to cigar tobaccos. And yes, apparently I am a fountain of little known trivial and obscure words. ;)

Oh ok, I have seen some green cigars. I'm sure I've had one at some point but I can't remember specifically. Can you describe the flavor that you are getting that you relate to the green cigars?

Not sure I can without some head-scratching; maybe a woodsy, leather, greenish, and somewhat stinky odor. To my palate, most cigars have a fairly distinct taste and odor from cigarette or pipe tobaccos. Though certainly a continuum, comparison between TFA's Cubano or FA's Tuscan Reserve, to Hangsen Virginia (or other mild cigarette tobacco) would illustrate.

Oh, so you mean cigar flavors in general not just FA cigar flavors.

most all the cigar and tobaccos are never ever ready to go straight from the bottle, RyGon
one must fiddle and mix and match and hope to catch a resemblance..
never the actual real thing..

It's a bit late but I wanted to thank everyone for their input on tobacco flavors. Thank you!

On a different topic. I don't usually praise shipping times since for the most part (in my experience) USPS manages pretty standard shipping times once they have the package in hand. Most delays I have experienced in receiving a package have been due to delays on the shippers' part. That being said I placed my first order at Bull City late on Friday night, I chose the cheapest shipping option (not Priority), I received shipping notification from Bull City on Saturday and my package was delivered yesterday (Monday)! On average I expect 3-4 days with regular 1st class mail but this was outstanding for a package shipped from NC to CO! All in all an excellent first experience from Bull City. Also I now finally have Acetyl Pyrazine and Cheesecake Graham Crust.

vanilla classic wont do what vanillin can..
if you dont have it, leave it out..
if you want that cream in your tobacco, add it :p
@Smoky Blue, what does vanillin do that vanilla can't? I guess you mean it gives a creamy effect, but do you find it in just tobacco, or more generally? My experience with vanillin (albeit all with food or other non-vape applications) have made me think it's an inferior substitute--at least in that context. I need almost 3 times as much to get a comparable effect in baking, for example, and the resulting flavor is different. Not as nice, IMO. I recently read that while vanillin may be extracted from vanilla pods, it's now generally chemically processed from lignin.

Your comment has made me curious about its vape applications. I'm also wondering if it's been so many years since I've tried it that "vanillin technology" might've advanced by leaps and bounds while I was poo-poo'ing it...

I have another question for the crowd, even though I know it's not FA related...

Where the hell can I find NF Ginger in stock. Found several place that sell it, but we're OOS.

if i had to pick between vanilla or vanillin.. i'd go vanillin..
its not a creamy effect.. more of a hint of the vanillin will give different effects..

try it on a single fruit, from .25% up to max 3%

then try it on say.. some black mile + fe.. same percentages..

call it Smoky's Vanillin test.. make sure to do it with both plain single flavor, and then with the vanillin..
that way you can taste and see the difference ;)

This place still stocks it! http://ejuice4u.com/ginger-natures-flavors/
I haven't ordered from them before, but a couple people here have mentioned them as a reliable company.

Thanks man, pretty sure I ran across that site before and it gave me the willies for some reason. I'm a paranoid lot about cyber stuffz, but will maybe try covert tactics on this place and see what happens.

Huck I'm constantly reading backwards. I have little time in morning and then later evening to really spend time to read. I can check during the day but if I side track too much I'll find all kinds of mistakes on client work. :-/

Yeah, there's no way I could do all this during work. Can't take that chance. Now, on breaks... people get mad that I'm not more social, lol. They don't understand "but I'm learning about flavorings!" and think it's hilarious that I'm on an Ecig forum. Then I say to them that they have facebook, I have VU. It's way more interesting to them when they make the switch and start asking me about cleaning coils and making juice.

Have any of you ever tried mixing torrone and custard? A couple weeks ago I was playing around with a custard mix and was going to do 2:1 custard:torrone but accidentally it was closer to 1:1. I didn't think much of it at first but after it sat around for a week or two it's really tasty to me, dare I say, kinda* like Caps without the DAA.

Yes! You can get that same shocking are-you-sure-it's-diacetyl-free effect with Torrone, Marzipan, Nut Mix, and sometimes Almond. That's why tiny bits of Marzipan sometimes show up in my recipes in odd places, lol.

Torrone plus custard...you commented on this one.

I'm vaping the Lemon Torrone Parfait right now. I'm wondering what gives the Lemon Sicily that kinda lemon zest flavor in it.

Meringue is tangy, Custard includes lemon, so they both highlight it a bit.

I could have typed this post!
Work has really been getting in my way of mixing too.
Hopefully I will have more time soon.
Hours are changing next week but it looks like it will be after Thanksgiving before I really have some time.

@Thunderball When I made that recipe last week the smell was "off" a bit but I didn't taste it.
It was a week before I tried it so I don't know if it needs a week to steep or if it is good to shake and vape.
Let us know if you try it out.
Haven't done this one yet but I will . I've been a lazy mixer for a week or so ( though I mixed t HIC's speculoos cookie butter tonight out of sheer curiosity. :)

I just refilled my tank for work tonight with the last drops of this. :(
I really hope it doesn't need that week steep time.

Well now I found out I have a problem with vg:( it makes my mouth feel like it has a film of numb sort of. The good news is I am going to get more nic next month in mostly pg and getting a tiny bit of vg I was told that since this problem did not happen till this month it could be the vg brand. I am still wanting to make these recipes dang it :D

Dixie, did you get what i sent you?
Yes and I tried the 100%vg and had that weird mouth reaction. It happened with my 50/50 nic base also before I received your package. If your vg is not from Eliquidmart, then that means there are 2 brands I can not do of the vg. Wanna talk in a PM?

No but I can give you the recipe.
Sorry I don't know who this belongs to.

5% TFA French Vanilla
1% FA Coconut
5%TFA Whipped Cream
1% FA Fresh Cream
Just thought I'd bring this one forward, in case anyone else tries to figure out which recipe Ld and TBall are discussing.

@HeadInClouds, You've mentioned that you vape exclusively VG--some flavorings' bases aside. @Smoky Blue, it looks like you have experience with all-VG liquids too.
My mom, also a vaper, has tinnitus at times and I am thinking of making some VG-only liquids for her. Because of its viscosity, I am concerned her vaping apparatus won't handle it well. Various comments I've come across online warn against using high VG fluid in tanks. She has a bottom-feeding pyrex/stainless steel Aspire tank and Protank Mini 2, as well as cheaper plastic tanks of the GS-H2 variety. What is your guys take on high VG and vape gear? Do we need special equipment? Any input appreciated!

if you are still using the ego batteries.. these work well..
once you get them, pop the top, pull out the fluff..
screw on to your battery and drip 4 drops of your mixed up juice and vape away..
one should last a min of one week.. i have had one last me almost 2 months..
depends on your juice..

http://www.healthcabin.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=7847

very simple and easy to use to learn how to drip.. :)

All you have to do is add water or vodka to the mix and it won't be so thick. A quick easy fix.

Just figure it In when your mixing and all of your flavorings will be nice and strong as your recipies are written for.

I don't want to put words in his mouth, but I think HIC adds 10 %mountain spring water to his VG mix.

I tried this recently and it works just fine in nautilus and aero tank type toppers.

i just don't like water, spring or distilled.. in mine..
might add .5-2% alcohol, but depending on the recipe..

i can not do pg as it makes my throat hurt to the extreme, and i sound i like i have been at a concert for a month..
i can tolerate some in flavoring, but my personal mixes, i avoid pg like the plaque..

the cartos i popped up are good for vaping thicker juices, without the hassle of rewicking a dripper..
easy and simple, and cheaper than paying for coils for a bottom coil unit.. :)

If you pull out the fluff on those carto's you will also tear out the coil that's built in the fluff and they won't work.

Better to get 510 bridgeless dripping atomizers. Us old school Vapers used those before there was anything else.

But they're old school and expensive for the better ones like joytech. I'm thinking the 310's were what I preferred.

Anyway, just water down your VG and you can use any modern tank you want
