Finally figured it out

Here's my baby peppers. Since it's so dry here this time of year, I put my starter plants in a small tub with a piece of clear plastic to partially cover to keep some moisture in, this lets the seeds germinate better (higher percentage of seeds to germinate) and quicker.

We don’t want to sound the alarm ⏰ but...

Today is your last chance to reconnect with the magic and wonder of your garden when you sign up for the Spirit Gardening Course!

If you’ve been following along with the 5 stages of Spirit Gardening you might think you know what’s in store. But you’ve only had a small taste of what you’ll get in the course… there is SO much more to look forward to!

In case you haven’t seen the registration page yet, here’s the link to the Spirit Gardening class that closes tonight:

>>> DEADLINE: Registration for Spirit Gardening ends TONIGHT @ 11:59pm Pacific

mail

Inside this course are 5 sessions with Stacey deep diving into each stage of Spirit Gardening. These sessions are recorded for later viewing.

Each session includes:

  • A guided visualization to help you get deep into the Spirit Gardening mindset.
  • Geeky science stuff to stretch your imagination of what’s possible.
  • Detailed steps for each of the stages of the Spirit Gardening process.

Here are just some of the topics covered in the 5 sessions:

  • Courageously diving into why your soul yearns to garden
  • How to tap into the secret language of your plants so you can hear what they really need to thrive
  • Visualizations to help you cultivate more joy and ease in your garden
  • How to enjoy gardening without shame, guilt, anger, or frustration (even if you think you have a brown thumb)
  • The geeky science behind spirit gardening that shows you how communicating with your garden really works!
  • Ways to increase your garden’s yield even when the season is halfway through (it’s not what you think!)
  • Getting your garden to thrive by reconnecting to your inner child’s imagination and wonder
  • How to stop self-sabotage in your garden for greater happiness, longevity, and peace
  • The number one mindset shift that will ensure garden success with any climate or crop
  • Ways you might be unconsciously killing your plants and sabotaging garden success
  • How the 5 stages of Spirit Gardening can help you grow, evolve, and become a better person

This is the perfect opportunity to hit the “reset” button on your garden for your Spring / Summer planting.

Has your garden become a chore? Just a means to a harvest? This will get you back in tune with that passion and love you felt when you first started gardening!

And if you’re new to gardening, this course will put you in the right mindset so your love for gardening lasts for years to come! And I’m not the only one who’s seen the power of Spirit Gardening so far...

Just look at what gardeners like you have to share about their experiences with Spirit Gardening:

"I have always thought about gardening as a process to “get” something. It is totally a new concept to think of it intuitively. This concept opens up a whole new way to garden. Love it!" - Marnie A.

“Spirit Gardening is a way to feel successful no matter what happens in your garden. It’s about YOU and your connection. I’ve always felt empathy with nature and just being in my garden gives me pleasure. This course will just add to that dimension." - Cathy W.

“The love you are passing on to give us enough information which allows every gardener to make a choice of how they want to take on their gardening adventure, from beginner to more experienced gardeners. There is a gem for each to culture the love of a garden to improve the Earth.” - Myriam B.

Here’s the thing…

There is no better time than RIGHT NOW to make your garden and your health a priority in your life!

The two years have been hard on everyone. A lot of people are feeling more unsure about their health (physical and mental) than ever before.

When you sign up for the Spirit Gardening Course today, you’ll improve your mental and physical health by connecting you to your garden, nature, and ultimately yourself.

Isn’t that worth a LOT more than $197?

This is a golden opportunity to increase your levels of joy, creativity, and vitality through your gardening!

Would you like to share your love of gardening with the children in your life?

Reading is such a powerful tool for cultivating curiosity…both for yourself and for kiddos!

Meghan Groves is a teacher, gardener, and mom. She is creating a brand new Grow Your Own Vegetables Microcourse to teach the little ones in your life about plants and how they grow!

As a reading specialist, Meg loves using books as a foundation for learning new ideas and new skills.

That’s why she created this video read-aloud with the book The Enormous Carrot by Vladimir Vagin!

>>> Watch Meg’s Read-Aloud of The Enormous Carrot

The Enormous Carrot is a story about two gardeners who accidentally grow a carrot SO BIG they can’t pull it out of the ground themselves. They ask friends and neighbors to help. And by working together, the team finally harvests the enormous carrot! All of the friends celebrate their harvest by eating the enormous carrot together at a picnic.

The Enormous Carrot shows us the importance of working together, especially in the garden. The story will also help cultivate kids’ curiosity about how their food grows. It might even inspire them to grow their own enormous carrot!🌱

After you watch the read-aloud together with a child in your life, you can take that curiosity into the real world!

🥕Shop for carrot seeds, and discover all off the incredible varieties of carrots.
🥕 See what carrot seeds look like (they’re so tiny!).
🥕 Use the seed package or search the internet to learn what carrots need to grow.
🥕 Plant those seeds, and watch your carrots grow big and strong.
🥕 Later in the season, harvest your carrots together and cook up something yummy!

Learning more about vegetables also gives you an opportunity to expand a child’s palate. You could try some of the many carrot-based foods mentioned in the text, such as carrot pie (Meg likes this recipe).

Engaging children in cooking is a powerful way to connect them with nutrients and can help even the pickiest eaters get excited to eat their vegetables!

Cooking with kids also:

🌱 Reinforces following directions
🌱 Gives an opportunity to practice measurements and math
🌱 Helps you connect with the children in your life over delicious, nutritious food!

It’s incredible what one well-chosen book can inspire. Watch Meg’s read-aloud of The Enormous Carrot with the children in your life, and see their curiosity grow…enormous!

To growing curiosity–together!

🌱 The Grow Your Own Vegetables Team 🌱

P.S. Know of any other kiddos who would love The Enormous Carrot? Forward this email to their adults!

How to grow broccoli sprouts

Benefits of sulforaphane

Sulforaphane is what makes broccoli sprouts special among all the sprouts. None of the other sprouts contain a significant amount of sulforaphane. It’s a sulfur compound found in all cruciferous vegetables, including adult broccoli, but its concentration is much higher in broccoli sprouts.
Here are some of its amazing benefits:
1. It improves estrogen dominance: It’s a potent antioxidant that helps with estrogen metabolism.
2. It can shrink breast cancer cells: Medical research has shown that broccoli sprouts can prevent and even shrink estrogenic breast cancers in women because sulforaphane acts as a killer of cancer stem cells. (1)
3. It detoxifies the liver: Sulforaphane is also rich in glucosinolate, a sulfur-rich compound that supports liver detoxification and reduces menopause symptoms.
Want to learn how to grow your own sprouts at home? Sprouting is easy and can be done at home for very little cost. Click the link below to learn more.

Just wanted to mention... read something years ago that said bean sprouts (as in mung beans) are one the most common sources of "food poisoning"... bacteria but also suggested that making your own is better. You really have to constantly rinse and check them every day but it really is easy to do (and other sprouts... even broccoli that was mentioned)
Make your own sprouts! Yes... they are so healthy for you.

Wheat grass is another one you can grow yourself (grow lights are great for this... any time of year) Since it only needs to grow for for a short time, I can see even a cheap LED shop light working (we got one from Costco for $18)

Yes I only recommend DIY when sprouting. It is easy and sprouts have twice the nutrition of the finished product.

I also grow shoots, wheat grass and Nastrium shoots, I like growin them inside

So far our Cherry trees, Peach tree, Pear trees, and we think Apple tree (first time it's bloomed) have survived through the coldest nights around 32° to 30° . First yr in several years the blooms are still blooming and bees are pollinating :bliss:

You know how sometimes, in the garden, you can spend hours (and lots of money) trying to build the perfect garden but it just doesn't work out that way?
It is supposed to be beautiful & bountiful but it ends up looking like Target threw up in a weed pile.
Lot's of stuff is like that. Including my newest project.
I was supposed to be able to announce it in March and it was supposed to go live 2 weeks ago.
Alas, best laid plans and all that...
But I happy to, finally, announce my new project:
The Grow Food Summit
Bringing together some of my favorite gardening educators it is designed to be a top to bottom celebration of planting seeds & reaping natures bounty.
The coolest part is that I get to do a FREE showing this Friday.
Go here to signup:
www.GrowFoodSummit.com
Keep grow'n,
Jason
PS - As you can tell by when this email is being sent, it has been a busy day. I'll tell you more about the awesome lineup tomorrow. Or you can go to www.growfoodsummit.com and check it out now.
