All done, blaming it on Steve
Join the crowd. Everyone's wife hates me. I can see it now, it was all Steve's fault hunny, I swear.

Ugh... A second vt133 or the duo. It's the duo really worth the $50 difference?
That's the same question I have but I already have 2 vt133 so it would be my third. I kinda want the duo just to have something different but love the vt133 so much it's a hard decision. Plus I can save 50 buck buying another hcigar.

What are we using for our WHr field and soft cut-off value?

For the conversion I found... mAh x V / 1000 with 3.7 as median voltage.

Mine arrived with the field populated with something in the 14WHr range
Yes it's series, but using ex: 2500mAh for the calculation results in 9.25 WHr.

I've used 2x2500 for a result of 18.5WHr, but am unsure of the effect.

And the cut-off was quite high, for now I have mine at 2.9v.
No real reason, just seemed more appropriate
(damn that graphing shows some serious sag, don't it? :p )

Any help?

I'm gonna let Steve "DNA Steve" supply you with more, but here's a light primmer:

WattHour - is calculated by single cell Mah. So I use brownies that are 3000Mah. We don't double the mah to 6k, we use the value of 1 cell. In eScribe we enter 2 batt along with the mah of 1 cell.

Cutoff - I have mine set at the very safe 3.2. U can certainly go to 2.9, again Steve would be best to explain

@Steve, sorry for volunteering your knowledge, but I and I am sure others respect your work and education that you have put into and are so great at sharing about our beloved DNA.

A couple of thing to note. A 2500 mah 18650 probably was rated going down as low as 2.5 volts
The DNA200 board even though you set the cutoff lower than 2.8 -2.9 it will still cutoff at 2.8 - 2.9 range (I forget whether it's 2.8 or 2.9)
Around 16 watt hours is about right for a 2500 mah pair.

Since it's 2 batteries in series you would use 7.4 (2x3.7) x 2500/1000 = 18.5WH. If it were 3 cells in series you would use 11.1V. There is also a WH calculator in Escribe in the mod tab. That's basically for accuracy on the battery meter. If you still have bars left when you get the weak battery warning, lower the watt hours. If it's empty and still no weak battery, raise the WH. I left my soft cutoff at 3.09 but 2.9 is fine also. There is a thought that the lower you drain your cells the less cycles you will get. It's perfectly safe either way.

Cheers
Steve

Edit As DW mentioned the boards also have a Hard Cutoff that is programmed in and can't be changed for safety reasons. I believe the DNA75 is 2.75v and the DNA200 is 2.9v (it could be 2.8, I thought at one time it was 2.9V though).

This is probably going to be sacrilege lol, but, I've had my VT133 for over 3 weeks now. I pulled it out of box looked at it, put it back and is in a box of other stuff I haven't put to use yet(RX200S, various Rta/Rba's). Life has just been balls to the walls busy so haven't been tinkering and toying with stuff, so sticking with my bullet proof mods and tanks I just fill and go, swap a coil, etc. Anyway my question, the VT133, it's my first DNA of this type, can I just throw batteries in and vape in power mode with out worrying about escribe too much? I know it defeats the purpose of having the mod, but I'm pretty computer illiterate and will take me a hard learning curve. Thanks beforehand for any info. I've read most this thread but didn't see much along the lines of what I'm asking.

Tbh, the learning curve isn't that bad for escribe. Pbusardo has some excellent tutorials but they are long. He does go over everything though. If you have the time check him out. Even if you just get a working basis out of it.

Thanks guys for the response, and I will have to check that out Deuces, I'm familiar with him from watching some reviews he's done, definitely a thorough dude!
I uploaded my Ecig profile earlier in this thread with instructions on how to upload it to your mod (page 7 I think). It will be set up with 7 profiles (1 power, 6 for TC), custom screens, custom theme, case thermals, mod resistance, etc.

Cheers,
Steve

Really the DNA is just as bulletproof as anything else. THe difference is once it's set up your done. I only use stainless steel so I really have zero fiddlefucking
All four of mine are kind of as follows
1 profile - straight power mode
2- a powerful stainless dripper profile (for dual coil fused Clapton)
3- a slightly less powerful stainless dripper profile (for dual coil Clapton wire)
4- a medium stainless profile (dual coil round wire)
5- dual coil rta (similar to '4' with less preheat
6- single the coil rta for dl
7 single coil rta for mtl
8 dual coil rta for round wire

I did it this way so that I can grab any topper and at absolute most make adjustments in power or temp but the preheats that are programmed in will all work fine on the fly like that. It's been pretty successful since outside of updating firmware I have had no reason to go into escribe for months

Look like the DNA 200, but the top is seamless and the side comes off like the flask to get to the sled.
There isnt any seem acrossthe top though the side seperqtes below the top.
Same size as the 200.

You can kind of tell through the branding

Gearbest has the black cover on sale for $4.80, there are 26 of them left. Have a feeling those are the last 26. All the colored ones are gone.
Fasttech has the black, silver and blue for $6.91.

I was already going to experiment on a silver cover I ordered extra with a color more to my liking. But after the black cover sale come up, I bought another one to try out another color or technique on.

looky looky... I was cruising FT today and guess what I found??? Anyone knew these were lingering there?

https://www.fasttech.com/products/3032/10016343/4424700

Are you searching for high prices?

;)

Might as well admit... I bought a Silver from VNW yesterday even though they're denying a claim for the Black. Couldn't pass at that price.
Thanks Obama Steve. :D

The worst of the attys is the 'Mizer but it's SS, so if it seats flush on the Silver 133... there it shall remain.

"If it fits... it sits." :p

Not searching for anything actually...I thought that was clear from the post, but I was surprised to see them there...asked the question if anyone else knew that FT sold them.

Aw hell yeah (I think)... or has it been primarily GearBest?

Seen so many cheap China orders mentioned, am I conflating the two?

And if FT is only now jumping in... will they maybe source some colored covers? :)

Both FT and GB have had the mods and the covers since I took notice of the mod. The colored covers are gone except the blue on FT. I would not expect them to re-stock either. From what was said recently by Hcigar about them making more VT133's and them not making more unless an order of 500 or more comes in, why would they start mass producing covers. I am thinking covers will be even harder to find. So stock up!

Hi Buddy,
I knew they sold them. I just looked a few days ago and they were both in the $120 range. Seems like they came down $10. I was just telling someone the other day that since Ecig blew them out that other places are having to lower their price too (at least that's what I think is happening - could also be they are being discontinued. Either way, it's one hell of a deal that we've got them for - ~$80).

Cheers,
Steve

Yeah, I've been reading the posts this week by several of you about Hcigar's intentions.
It's not happy making.

Are they a solid company? These are my first from them but I've seen their name for quite a few months (we almost need a "dog years" conversion... the industry is moving so fast casualties are inevitable).

Are they preparing a replacement product?
And just letting the popular model sell out?

Hmmm.

Hcigar has been around for quite awhile. They use to make clones. When the DNA40 came out (iirc) they hooked up with Evolv and have been with them every since. IMO they make solid mods (at least that's been my experience). My first DNA200 was the Hcigar VT200, still works great.

PS I was just speculating, I really have no idea what their plan is.

Conjecture only. I think several retailers are drawing down stock due to uncertainty of what exactly takes place after 8 August in the US.
Sure, we read the reg one way, but I'd guess they have a lawyer who can read regs better than I. I've seen few 'new' product announcements and lots of 'blowout pricing' banners. Quite a few sites with very little in the way of in stock merchandise.

I am waiting on the 4th to get some additional nicotine, but I may not see a sale. Why have a sale if the merchandise is moving fine?

Anyway, that's my take on this mod and the battery doors being hard to find.

That's how I have been looking at it at well. Even though from my understanding, it is too early to cut stock and run. That date would mean nothing new into the market but existing products would be able to continue to sell.

But I too will be keeping an eye out for other DNA mods over this 4th. It will be hard to go back to others now. And definitely stocking up on NIC and flavorings for my new venture in DIY.

For sure. As for DIY myself and I know Steve have been DIYing for years. Happy to help via PM if you need it! There are ton of resources too that are very helpful. I could not live with an app I have on my phone for conversions . It makes life extremely easy. Make sure you have a 10ml syringe and a larger 30ml+ everything is super easy from there in my experience!

I need to find myself my next DNA..I've decided against another 133... now I just gotta figure out what's next between the DUO or whatever else. I really wish there was a DNA 200 Flask with the screen on top...I would spend 2 Bills for that! Unicorn syndrome continues for me :)
