For sure. As for DIY myself and I know Steve have been DIYing for years. Happy to help via PM if you need it! There are ton of resources too that are very helpful. I could not live with an app I have on my phone for conversions . It makes life extremely easy. Make sure you have a 10ml syringe and a larger 30ml+ everything is super easy from there in my experience!

I need to find myself my next DNA..I've decided against another 133... now I just gotta figure out what's next between the DUO or whatever else. I really wish there was a DNA 200 Flask with the screen on top...I would spend 2 Bills for that! Unicorn syndrome continues for me :)

Here's a few different ones I have. Like the Lavabox(s) and VT200 the best out of these (The Blood Red is my favorite - the only mod I baby)

L to R Black Lavabox, Blood Red Lavabox, Reuleaux DNA200, VT200, DX200 (dual 18650 mode)

Damn... that's a shame about HotCig's 18650 config. :(

Seen it before but standalone, that's the best representation of just how bad it is.
(then again... can the standard LiPo pack be much smaller?)

Here's a couple of older pictures in the Lipo form. It's better but still wider than comparable DNA200 mods. I think it's because of the 2 piece design.

L to R DX200, VT200, Lavabox

Thanks! I did some research, still probably not enough and started the first round of ordering last weekend. Going to try out the measuring by weight but did get some disposable syringes. Think i will get some glass re-usable ones though. I suck at math so I know I will be living in similar apps or web pages and recipes. ;)

Unless something shiny catches my eye mod wise over the weekend, maybe I should hold off for a while now. I want to get a high end mod and after this vapenw sale, I will have 3 dna's. Now that is the reasonable side, then the real side comes out.......

Thanks, that helps with size comparison. I'm probably gonna pull the trigger and order the duo but for some reason I've been hesitant.

I use a program called E Juice me up, it's free and very good imo.
http://ejuice.breaktru.com/

When I first started I used syringes. After awhile I started using a 5 piece set of Glass Graduated Cylinders (5ml, 10ml, 25,ml, 50ml, and 100ml). I wouldn't necessarily suggest you start out with them, but I've been doing it for years. I also mainly make bigger batches now (mostly 120ml unless trying something new). Here's a picture (not my pic, but a good representation of what I have, except mine are straight lol).

PS I'll second Infinite's offer for help if needed.

Nice Steve!!

I can strongly suggest AGAINST measuring by weight. The graduated cylinders are a great idea.

I personally make a 500mL batch of naked juice for stock, then pour 120mL into a small glass container for easy small batch creations. I favor the clearly marked syringes they are super accurate and most important to me - compact:)

I mix 3MG juice so the math is fairly straight forward. I still use an app though for the water if I go that route for the batch and whiskey ( personal fav over vodka).

Good Luck! Once you DIY it's gonna be hard to justify buying juice, although there may not be a choice to do so 8/8 :(

I'm with ya with the DUO... so tempted bit waiting it out till this weekend!!!

Gosh Steve,

Those are all beauties my friend!!!

What are the toppers on each...if not too much trouble, drip tips too???? I love the DX200 that I have...believe it or not:) almost all of ya prob already know, I have huge hands so the added girth doesn't bother me too much. But Dayum.....18650 mode is quite silly for real! I guess I'm gonna get the 1300mah pack now. Thanks Steve!!!

Man, can't stop looking at these! I'm now considering the Lava box:) it's true... you are proving yourself a threat to relationships...gotta explain this to the wife!

You have quite the collection sir and that's only a fraction of what I know that you have...

Yeah, when I first got mine a couple of weeks ago... I was hell bent on finding the sled..now I know why its discontinued - ridiculous. I'm a 1300mah Lipo fan suddenly. Well actually now that I am loving my only Lipo mod a touch more than my duals. I can tell a slightly better vape within the DNA line that I have.

Steve, have you tried the plastic cylinders?
Just the glass. Some flavors are very strong and I've found that glass is:
1. Easier to clean the smell out of
2. Doesn't react (some flavors can be very hard on plastic - citrus, cinnamon, banana, etc)
YMMV - I just prefer glass all the way around. I only use glass for my finished product as well.

I have about 100 glass Green 60ml bottles and about the same amount of 120 Amber Glass bottles for juice. Then a bunch of 60ml Amber Glass for Nic. Quite a few Cobalt Blue 30ml for juice as well. One of these days I'll take a picture of my DIY supplies.

Cheers,
Steve

At your size it's doable if inconvenient.
But I'm medium sized, lacking ham hocks. :p

I'm imagining holding a paperback across the width.
Even at Ecig's $50 (plus 18650 sled)... I'll pass.

eta: Thought about it... the DNA200 chip/board is worth more than that.
Oops... sold out. :)

As for the Drip Tips they are some Jade and Turquoise ones I ordered from FT (not sure if they are actually Jade and Turquoise but look nice, feel good, and don't pass on heat
https://www.fasttech.com/p/1985400 (Blood Red and VT200 - the dark grey is the Black and White one in the collection - I was happy it came like that instead of the one pictured. Sadly I chipped it pretty good last weekend)
https://www.fasttech.com/p/2403101 (on the TFV4)
https://www.fasttech.com/p/3483300 (this is on the Black Lavabox/SS Billow V2 - same one is on the separate picture of the Blood Red Lavabox with the Black Billow V2)

Hope that helps my friend!

I was wondering because some of the plastic cylinders are being advertised to hold many types of acid.

But understand your point of trying to get the odor out of the plastic.

I'm just beginning the DIY journey, trying to get as much advise as possible.

Thanks again...!

Ha ha...yep. Size of mods are usu not my top concern. I snagged the DX from ecig at $55 that's as u mentioned, less than the board! Easiest purchase ever! Sorry you missed out:(

I bought mine directly from Volcano. They were running a 20% off Presidents Day Sale and I couldn't resist. I'm not really sure who else sells them. I got both mine from Volcano (Black and Blood Red). You can sign up for an Email alert when they get them back in or even message them to ask when they expect them (they have always been very good at getting back to me promptly). I know at one time Breazy had them. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I did a quick good search and found a few vendors with them in stock for about $150 to $170.

I hope this helps!

Why? Pretty accurate for me. I started DIY with syringes and graduated cylinders. Then I noticed the graduations on the cylinders weren't the same.
I decided to try mixing by weight. I can mix my 180ml, divide it into two flavors, and have it all bottled in about 20 minutes. And I'm lazy!
I clean up two beakers and the funnel I use to bottle it.
Did I mention its accurate :)

Well, it's really about what "works" for ya...but working with weight requires gear that would need to be dedicated to the purpose (hazmat) would not want to use my food scale for nic...I've been known to spill. So, that's potentially an unnecessary cost. Then there's the actual process of weighing things ...that's noise to this lazy dude. I did not think that was newbie friendly as you noted as well.

I've got myself some accurate syringes with clearly labeled measurements...No guess work, for me. It does sound like you have your process down too.. but a quick comparison of the time you gave... I literally only have to measure 3 small quantities. The VG is really no measurement at all :)

1. half liter of VG. I purchase by the liter that I fill into a glass measuring cup
2. About 15ml of 100MG nic
3. About 5ml of whiskey
4. Whatever percentage of water I want

I do all of the above including supply prep in under 10min. I happened to track the time the last time I made a batch BC I noticed that it takes so little time these days:)

All that said...everyone lands on or develops a process that they are comfortable with! For me, this Non-Heisenberg (chemist)....simple syringes work the best. Steve is about the graduated, you about weight :)

I measured by volume for years. Finally took the by weight plunge and will never go back to volume. My mixes are just as tasty. And if your truly lazy, then you should give it a try. It's made for the lazy, or the person that likes to spend little time and effort to produce accurate results.

Awesome, glad it's working out for ya. I personally have no desire to buy a scale...did I mention I'm cheap when it comes certain things :) lol..but seriously I'm terrible at conversions too I live in a mL world for vaping. I don't even know what a 30-120ml final bottle would be in weight :)

I will definitely reach out to you should I become interested in weight through.

Lol. I'm not trying to convert you. Everyone does what best suite them...I was just reflecting back to the days of pulling VG in to a syringe.
I agree with what you are saying. There really is no right or wrong way. The best way is the one that works best for that individual. Different strokes for different folks (I agree that pulling VG through a syringe can be a PITA, that's why I like cylinders, just pour it in :D). If you get a big syringe and leave the needle off, it's not too bad but you need a wide mouth container for that to work.

Cheers,
Steve

Ok back to the VT133 :) I lost my 24hr chip, not by choice. I ordered 1 more vt133 through Vapenw, 2 hours later i opened a ticket to cancel the order. Put in the 2nd order for 1 more vt133 and a couple more rta & rda i was dying to try(20% off). Well they say they didn't see the cancellation in time and shipped both orders. Now i have 4- Vt133 lol. Oh well 80.00 is a steal for this mod. I just hope the wife understands it not my fault:rolleyes:

VapeNW response.
I do apologize, unfortunately your order was already shipped. However, if you would like to mark that package as return to sender, I will waive the restocking fee.

not to hijack this thread, but need some help with both my VT133's:

see: http://vapingunderground.com/threads/hcigar-vt133-and-battery-disappearing.252467/#post-1241416

I've thought about your issue some and since you are having the exact same problem with 2 different mods. It leads me to believe it's either in your settings or your batteries. It would seem hard to believe 2 different mods would be defective in the exact same way. None of mine do this and I can't remember anyone else having this problem.

If it's your settings, I posted my ecig profile on page 7 along with instructions on how to upload them to your mod. It includes 7 profiles (1 for power mode and 6 for TC), case thermals, mod resistance, battery CSV, WH, amount, and type for LG HG2's. It also includes custom screens and custom theme.
Edit: Here's the link: http://vapingunderground.com/threads/hcigar-vt133-dual-18650-dna200.171476/page-7#post-1181938
http://vapingunderground.com/threads/hcigar-vt133-dual-18650-dna200.171476/page-7#post-1181938

I'm thinking you might want to try loading it on one of your mods to see if that takes care of the problem. If it does then it's your settings. If not it's either your batteries or you got 2 mods both with the same defect.

One last thought. I'm running Escribe version 1.0.42 and firmware 2016-02-23. If you aren't updated, I would suggest doing that as well. That's all I can think of at the moment. Good luck!

PS Your Escribe version can be found at the top of Escribe, click on Help, then About Escribe. Firmware version is in the Device Monitor in the bottom right hand corner.

Cheers,
Steve

Steve, thanks for relinking (again) to your earlier post with the full set-up.
I managed to get it saved and loaded this time. Starting a collection. :p

My Evolve folder is getting messy ;), started a folder just for wires.
You have the 430 I was missing (who did I grab Tungston from a couple days ago? That was funny)... Turtle on ECF is sending me a 430 sample so I can try it out.

430 or NiFe? NiFe or 430? Hmmm.
Just glad I don't really have a large supply of 316 sitting here. :D

(2nd 133 arrives tomorrow AM... damn that makes 2+VT75... didn't take long  )

:p

Well now that we are back onto the 133, I should be getting my new one and the VT75 tomorrow.

Back off topic to DIY ;) I have enough start up hardware supplies for both weight and measurement. But planned on starting with weight. I will be following recipes until I get my bearings and if you check out the recipes listed on eliquid recipes (an example of one I may probably make) both the volume and weights are listed. So it does not matter if you go one way or the other, it is easy to mix.

But I should be set not on DIY hardware. Happy to share for my beginner critiquing shopping I have done so far for recommendations of what i may be missing and what to look out for this weekend on sales :)
Just need some good sales this weekend for some flavorings to make some complete tasty recipes and stockpile NIC.

For flavoring I mainly use Capella and Flavour Art now. I also still also use a few from TFA. My advice is when trying a new recipe, start small. That way if you don't like it, not a lot is wasted. The same goes for buying flavors, buy small sample sizes until you know you like it, they all sound great in the description. If you have any questions about specifics, feel free to ask either here or via PM. Good luck on your DIY adventure!

Cheers,
Steve

Bummer, looks like the surface wasn't prepped/clean before the coating was applied.
