You might need to turn preheat up in the SS304 setting. I found I got a smoother TC graph/experience with TC basically turned off with SS316 so I just assumed it would be the same for all grades. I think I set it at 1 watt, 1 punch for 1 second. You would do that in the general tab on Escribe. Each TC profile has it's own preheat settings. I'm not saying you have to or should, I'm just making you aware that I believe I basically turned it off. I don't really use SS304 so I never had a chance to test the preheat effect on the TC graph. I'm glad so far you are finding the mod to be a smooth vape!

Thanks Steve. I noticed the preheat setting and briefly set it to 100w, but the vape was weak (hadn't dialed in temp/wattage at that point, so...) Anyway, I then created a Profile 8, for SS304 TCR (0.00105). I remember that Daniel at DJLSBVapes mentioned he felt TCRs were more accurate than CSVs.. not sure why, but that's what he said more than once in his video.

One quick question: The "Temp Protect" message blinks on-screen for a couple times after I release the fire button... Is there a setting I can change to prevent that?

Yes there is. Go into the theme tab of Escribe. Next to the Temp Protect screen is a drop down box where you can select
1. Show Message (what it's on now)
2. Show Temperature
3. Don't show

As I'm sure your aware of. That ,message isn't a warning, it's just letting you know the coil has reached your set temp and the mod is throttling down the power to keep you there.

PS I know Daniel has said that but it doesn't really make sense to me how a single point would be more accurate then 10 points on a curve.

Yes on the theme tab look down for the Temperature Protect message. Now over on the right in that same row is a pull down menu. Your choices are:

Show Message
Show Temperature
Don't Show (I use this one)

EDIT: Steve beat me again. ;)

Sorry Bill, those speed typing lessons must be paying off. Unfortunately half the time it's Speed Typos.

I like Daniel a lot... but some things he says I need to ask him more about. Like when he measures how long the 510 pin is, why is his measurements are always different from the rest of us?

One thing I think of that can explain such things is that he usually uses prototypes and reviewer models which are made before the production models. And they can be quite different.

Don't forget he takes mods apart so he may be measuring it when it's out of the casing.

In case you do want the message to flash... just not so damn many times... there's an app a setting for that.

Under the Screen tab... "Display"... "Error Flashes" field. I set mine to one. Take that flashy bastage. :p

My "Last Temp" in the on-mod display is always 20-30 degrees lower than what I see on the Monitor's graph.

So... what does "Last Temp" and for that matter "Last Power" actually represent?

Last Power: Average power output used in the last puff (watts).

Last Temperature: Average temperature from the last puff.

There here on page 19, it basically goes through all the different displays you can choose

Vt133 #2 and DNA #3 VT75 came in today. Waiting on the 26650 battery to arrive. Took a little bit to figure out that there is a different version of escribe that has the driver in it, even though it is the same escribe software. Liking escribe but that is just dumb.

Anyway, I already had exported so the individual profiles could be imported and moved around so imported the ones I would be using on this. Nice and easy. The case thermals and battery stuff will take a little more to figure out since Steve did not have those figures ready to hand over to me.

LOL :D. How do you like the Silver VT133 compared to the Black frame?

You need Escribe version 1.0.56 for the 75. Here's the link in case you don't already have it: SetupES_2016-05-06_DNA75.exe

I think the DNA75 Escribe still needs a little work since it's my understanding you can't simply add WH like you can for the DNA200. Running the case analyzer isn't too bad, just need a few hours to do it, but no special equipment. I'm not sure about the mods resistance but I'll look around if needed. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your new mods!

Cheers,
Steve

Correct.
On the plus side... for whatever RAM allotment reasons, the 75 gets a separate Firing/Charging display choices pair for TC wire and Power mode. Though the selections are different for the 133/200 and the 75... too bad, I like some of each. :p

Aww too cool Steve, thanks.
I have the 75 manual it's meh, but an entire EScribe one is great.
Yes, it's a year old... still a lot in there to use and reference. :D

Off to page 19. ;)

In EScribe, go to the Material (tab). See the open folder button? That is how you load it in. Then transfer it to the Materials on Device. Now go to Profiles and use a Profile with it. Now use the main Upload Settings to Device (button).

Here is a screenshot. Vaping like a dream, but not sure why it's not getting to the temp set point. Any ideas? (last question of today:D)HIFE52 TEST.png

Your power should be dropping once it hits temperature. Yours it is pegged at 60 watts and never drops. So you could use more wattage.

Although there are two ways to vape TC. One way is called Power Dominate which is what you are doing now. It is just like vaping by wattage only, except TC will stop the wattage if it hits the temperature that you set.

Temperature Dominate is how most people use TC. Instead of regulating by tweaking the wattage like Power Dominate, you adjust by tweaking temperature. Although you have to have enough wattage to get to the set temperature to begin with.

I'm just on my phone so I can't see your graph. What type of coil are you using (wire, gauge). Are you using the right TCR/ profile (do disrespect meant, I just have the pictures cutoff atm). I can see your temp is 360.

I'm using dual coils but only 28ga (not a lot of wire mass), .3 ohms. My temp is 420F and I'm only using 30 watts with 50 watts preheat for 1 second. I temp limit pretty quickly. Like I said, I don't have much coil mass.

Cheers,
Steve

I think 60 watts should be more than enough power to get to 360 F providing he's using the right TCR/profile. Unless he's using some really beefy coils. I wish I was on my PC so I could be of some help.

Steve..Look at post # 1517. I setup a new profile for NiFe52 using Steam Engine. Coils are NiFe52 8 3.5mm wraps of 27awg. Just need a little help:)

This is the custom screen i made if anybody wants to use it.

Temp Dominate just basically switches the temperature to the big screen and the wattage to the small screen. It allows you to change the temperature with the + and - buttons. I use that for TC.

It can be set separately for each profile on the general tab of Escribe. Just check the Temperature Dominate box to have it set for the profile you have selected.

Steve

Yes that is Temperature Dominate but I noticed you have your ohms locked also. I don't lock mine for TC (I don't lock them at all. The only reason Evolv suggests you lock resistance in TC is if your resistance is unstable - unstable atty, bad connection, etc).

Steve

Not quite, I'm babysitting 3 of my Grandchildren today. I love them to piece but it would be a stretch to call it a vacation :D:giggle:. I'll shoot you the link when I find it. It was posted in this thread awhile back but don't know what page off the top of my head.

Cheers,
Steve

Just to make sure when you downloaded you Nife 52 curve. You set the material to Nife 52, then clicked on the DNA200 tab and finally Download TFR table as a CSV..

I think i did it correctly. I will wait until you get back from Vacation to read all this and see the graphs:D
I wouldn't think it would even work(tcr is 403) if i didn't load the file correct? Thanks Gentlemen!

The TCR for Nife52 is .004036. Just making sure you put the 0's in. I know Joyetech does theirs a different way but for DNA200 mods, you put it in the way it is (don't skip the 0's)

Last derail on my mech adventure....
Quick fulfillment... expected delivery Saturday.

The bad news... I thought I was more careful in my sorting but it happened fast. Two of them are hybrid "style" topcaps. One would have been enough.
And worry not dear friends you pillocks... they'll be for much later. I am aware. :p

I'll be digging out and inspecting my RDA's pins, and my dusty Kanthal... gack. ;)

The good (?) news... the Invader II is not a dual series. It's parallel.
And multi-MOSFET protected with a hard floor of 0.1 ohm. That's useable right away.

Still and all... it'll be fun. :D
