The downside is that it makes me extremely susceptible to rampant impulse purchasing. It's a real convenience in the brutal NC summertime though, as I'd rather not have my flavorings sitting in a stuffy mail center/truck/mailbox for any longer than they absolutely have to. I look at it as a reward from the Vape Gods for all those years I spent waiting months for vape stuff I ordered to get here from China. ;)
That's true lol! For every thorn there is a blessing!

Are the tobacco flavors very apparent? Or is it blended in with the taste of Apple Strudel?
tbh, mine is still steeping, but honestly, soho is basically a lite ry4 and the caramel/vanilla just add to the strudel. as it steeps im sure more of the shade and soho will come through. but to me its a dam tasty apple vape, not a tobacco vape!!

Thanks! If you don't mind, could you report back after it steeps? It sounds promising!

You know, if there's one complaint I have to level against FA, it's these ridiculous descriptions they give us. Captivating and intense dark flavour sensation and elegant sumptuous Italian notes don't tell me dick. "basically a lite ry4" makes me want to change my 30 ml order to a 4 oz. Get @kiwivaper on the payroll (and HIC should already be there).

I like to use TFA RY4 Double more as a caramel than a tobacco in a couple of recipes. RY4D is also a bit "weak" as far as tobacco vapes go, so now I'm wondering if SoHo has a similar profile.

I vaped soho for 3 straight months. Its a peanut flavored tobacco juice. I also vape ry4double and I dont get any similarities. I am a huge peanut butter fan and thats why I enjoy it so much.

Hm, thanks @Thomas Miraglia! So that sounds more like a 555-type to me, or maybe just a nutty RY4. Now I really want to try it! I'm hearing it takes upwards of 20% for a good stand alone mix, is there any truth to that?! Not that it matters much, because I've got a feeling I'll be making HIC's Apple Strudel Tobacco before I try it stand alone, and it's used at a relatively low percentage there.

Fall just got here so I need some apple in the rotation!

Not at all. I mix from 3-5 percent. The stronger, the more nutty. I cant imagine mixing it at 20 percent. Its a terrific standalone flavor.

Hehe, I also have a shuffle that things tend to get lost in, @Heartsdelight! I always know where my pancakes are, though. :D

Don't be afraid of the tobacco vapes! The way Hic describes the aroma in a tobacco shop is my experience as well. To this day, I still *love* the smell of (non-burning) tobacco leaves. A rich, heady tobacco is the aromatic equivalent of chocolate for me. And even after 5-ish years of not touching a cig, sometimes that aromatic is the only thing that will satisfy me.

Alrighty then, SoHo and Shade are in the basket. Jeez, I'm just gonna go ahead and see if @Roundhouse can arrange a private parking space for me at BCV. From the look of things last time I was there, they're aiming to take over an entire strip mall so it shouldn't be a problem. I couldn't figure out which door I was supposed to go in to pick up my order and ended up in (what I think was) the mail room! Haha...
Done, the space directly in front of B is yours ;) Hey, next time your in the area ask for Drew, I'd love to meet you! ...chances are I may have already and just didn't realize it :)

@Roundhouse Aha! I think I chose door C last time lol.

If you've ever seen a middle-aged dude with crazy long hair in a pony tail walking out of your door clutching a bag full o' merchandise, you've seen me. I always assumed you were the guy I saw sitting behind a computer/desk with an Iron Maiden shirt on one day, but I'd like to say UP THE IRONS to whomever that was regardless. You've got a great crew there, what a bunch of nice folks. Love the clouds in the joint, too. Reminds me of the days when I used to buy juice from vape shops. ;)

I'll call ya out when I come to get that SoHo, and whatever else mysteriously finds its way into my cart between now and then.

Interesting, I wonder why FA says it's not as concentrated as their other stuff and goes on to suggest 20%?! That's literally the reason why I first wrote it off. I guess 3-5% standalone could be considered at the high end of the scale by FA standards, but it's a far cry from 20%.

Ah ok! I'm in C also but the next office down, the guy in the Iron Maiden shirt was probably Jeff. Anyway, awesome man, I look forward to it!

20% as a stand alone does taste about right.

Hello, hello! :)

After lurking in DIY threads on ecf, stumbling across HIC's recipes, trying some out, and finally buying a dozen of them, I though it high time that I joined in the fun at VU. Y'all seem to be talented mixers (which I'm not!), with oodles of good ideas!

Thanks, HIC, for helping me learn to make yummy juice :inlove:

So kind of you to reply, and thanks for the welcome! I've only been DIY' ing for about 6 months, though I started stockpiling a year ago. Custards and puddings are still my favorites, but your recipes have been instrumental in expanding my horizons :). I do keep hoping your magic mixicology skills will unearth a way to make custard without icky stuff! A bird can hope, can't she?

Welcome @LittleBird  HIC is amazing! You'll love it here, everyone is like family!
Truer words :)

Just finished reading the entire thread - which, of course, resulted in three more additions to my HIC's library (and another flavor order). BCV's shipping to me is very fast, so Wednesday should be a mixing day!

BTW, at the recommendation of so many, here, I clicked the MammaJ's link -- and got nowhere. Is there a different website? TIA!

Sadly the proprietors of MamaJ's are currently MIA. Last word was they were really busy with their day jobs. We don't know if and/or when the site will be up and running again.

Thank you, @retrox. It sounds as though they were/are highly regarded. I hope it isn't due to deeming...

I copied out your IHOP banana nut pancake recipe. I'm thinking half with blueberry syrup, and half with maple :). Thanks!

http://mamajsflavorshop.com/ Shop is still there, just haven't seen him here in a while. I tried emailing him a little while back and didn't hear anything. :(

Yup, that's my latest addition! I was missing a flavor - a crucial one, I think - for HIC's Old Fashioned Doughnuts, so I have to wait for yet another order to arrive from BCV. They ship so fast (order in, yesterday morning; order out before noon!) that I should be vaping doughnuts before the weekend.

BCV is a great source for flavors! I wish they'd carry some flavor extracts from Nature's Flavors, but I understand NF is not an easy company for resellers to work with.

BCV order just arrived and I'm mixing away! HIC's Old Fashioned Doughnuts is done; I made a bit more than 20 mls of the flavoring, and mixed a 30 ml bottle. It smells amazing, already - an ADV in the making :). Now, if I can just wait 3 or 4 days for the flavors to meld ...

Next up, HIC's Lemon Pudding Cake. I've got a CC (squonker) and newly built Stumpy at the ready, and can't wait to try this!

Yup, I'm a new HIC's mixer. Hope all y'all don't get too tired of listening to me!

Lemon Sicily 4% as suggested by @Heartsdelight + HIC's Old-Fashioned Doughnut + Kayfun Mini v3 = :xD: . Just got the v3. I seriously can not believe the flavor this thing cranks out.

I'm going all out with 3% Sicily and 1% Bilberry in that OFD next time. Lemon Glazed Blueberry Old-Fashioned Doughnut? Yes please.
Omg did I actually suggest something that's good :)?

Mmmm Lemon Pudding Cake, I've never tried that one. I was & still am obsessed with HIC's Lemon Meringue Pie I never got to it. Think I will head on over to Gumroad. ;)
Has anyone tried both? Flavor differences?

New today at HIC's Mixes : Ginger Buttercream Frosting
p Ginger Buttercream Frosting.jpg
"The sweet flavor of real ginger-vanilla buttercream frosting. This begins with a simple recipe, easy enough for beginners. From there you learn to easily create variations and add this frosting flavor to other recipes. A Ginger-Banana Muffins recipe is included as an example. The recipes require Nature's Flavors Ginger and Malt flavor extracts (which likely contain diketones) plus FlavourArt flavorings. The Ginger-Banana Muffins recipe additionally requires TFA Banana Nut Bread."

If you are not in the U.S. - please double-check that you have (or can get) NF Ginger and NF Malt! Nature's Flavors will ship overseas, but their shipping sure is expensive.

@Heartsdelight the Lemon Pudding Cake is more cake-y, less pie-y.

Somehow I doubt that helps. ;)

The lemon is more of a supporting flavor in Cake, not as up front and zingy as it is in Pie. Pie is better fresh IMO, and Cake benefits from a bit of a steep.

I smell delicious possibilities. I'm also on a huge TFA BNB kick right now, so this one is timely. Too bad Malt and Ginger are the unicorn flavorings of the year, they're both great.

INAWERA has an awesome lemon cake flavouring. However, it is a bit dry on its own. I've been wanting to mix it with Lemon Pudding cake but haven't got around to it yet.

New today at HIC's Mixes : Oatmeal Creme Pie
p Oatmeal Creme Pie.jpg
"A flavor match for a very popular brand of packaged oatmeal cookies - the ones with sweet "creme" filling between soft-baked, spiced oatmeal cookies. Careful measuring is required so this recipe is best for DIYers with some mixing experience. Your efforts are rewarded with fantastic flavor - even the vapor trail smells delicious. The recipe requires Nature's Flavors Malt flavor extract, Nature's Flavors OR Flavor West Ginger, TFA Brown Sugar, and FlavourArt flavorings. The non-FlavourArt flavorings may contain diketones."

Previously sold as premixed flavoring at Mamaj's. Mmmm! It's one of my favorite bakery vapes.
