Haven't tried the SCC but the Banana Pudding is awesome!

FYI .. by 'breathing' do you mean 'venting' / leaving the mix open ? Think that this is only really necessary/recommended in conjunction with flavors that are alcohol based. Pretty sure HIC doesn't use any of those, so would want to say that 'breathing' is not necessary !

:ejuice:
Yup, that's what I meant. Force of habit: if I always do it, I don't forget to, for mixes that prefer a breath of fresh air! :)

I'm planning to drip a bit of the Banana Pudding, this morning. I'm a steeper, but that juice is calling my name!

Finally Zeppola arrived and is really good. Very good donut pastry/donut flavour. Not as doughy as WOW so I see a possibility of mixing these together or Capella's donut flavours.

The powdered sugar effect is there and it's the first time I've ever got this from a flavouring; it's spot on.

This is perfect on it's own. Currently vaping it with a bit of cap sugar cookie, lorann cream cheese and 1 drop torrone. I've already gone through my first 10 ml batch in less than a day :D

New today at HIC's Mixes : Lime Coolers
View attachment 70641
"Key lime cookies coated in cool, sweet powdered sugar. Not only is this an accurate flavor match, it truly captures the cool sweetness that makes the real cookies so fun to eat. This recipe requires only diketone-free FlavourArt flavorings, including Polar Blast (TFA Koolada can be used instead) and Metaphor."
Just ordered FA Metaphor to make this!

New at HIC's Mixes : Orange Chiffon

p Orange Chiffon.jpg
"Tastes like an old-fashioned orange chiffon cake. Chiffon cake is sweet, fluffy and tender like angel food cake, but just a little bit richer. This is a smooth vape with a balance of sweet cake and creamy orange flavors. This recipe requires only diketone-free FlavourArt flavorings, including Metaphor and Nonna's Cake."

(Remember this one from potlucks when you were a kid? These days, Chinese buffets often have a similar orange cake...)

New today at HIC's Mixes : Apple Fritters
p Apple Fritters.jpg
"The ultimate sweet & savory, fruity & spiced indulgence for doughnut fans - cinnamon-sugared apples mixed in sweet pastry, deep fried and glazed. Very authentic flavor of real fritters fresh from the bakery. All flavorings used are diketone-free. This recipe requires only FlavourArt flavorings, including Apple Pie and Zeppola."

Yeah, I'm vaping that one right now @Heartsdelight. Love it, but I've been tearing through so much of Hic's Apple Strudel Tobacco lately, my taste buds are like "WTF?!" This is an awesome alternative for anyone who absolutely can't stomach tobacco flavorings.

I added .5% Joy after sampling because I'm all about the extra glaze. Fighting back an intense craving for a cuppa joe right now.

I made something similar a few days ago. I'm curious to see your interpretation :D

Welcome! You'll love it here! Yes your English is fine!

My local store has about 70% of flavour art aromas but doesn't have few next ones:
Black cherry
Apricot
Tutti frutti
Cola
Artist touch(the new ones)
I'm a bit angry because the last time i ordered directly from flavour art it took 1month to get here.
And I'm 3 hours from Italy.
Ordered stuff from fasstech and got it in 2 weeks.
Doesnt make sense.
Gonna make myself some Hics watermelon juice to cheer me up.
Gotta go
:)

If your store is outside the U.S., those might be listed under different names, like this:
black cherry = cherryl
apricot = armenia
tutti frutti = blenderize
cola = USA pleasure (that name cracks me up)

Thanks Hic.
I will be placing my order directly from flavour art and I know they are listed the way you wrote.
I just hope I won't have to wait a full month for my goodies to arrive (because I did last time).
Cant wait that long.
And it's all becouse of you Hic!!!!
Hope I wont be driving to flavour art factory and break in dressed as one of their chemists with a face like this:
:p
I have 37 flavour art flavors.
Just counted and wanted to share with you guys.
I'v been reading all things flavour art on this forum and would like to express my gratitude for all the free advices, tips and tricks and recipes.
Sorry for a long post and cheers y'all.

Hey HIC! I'm just beginning my DIY adventure and loved your simple apple frangipan recipe so much that I decided to buy the fritter recipe! I was wondering what pg/vg you mix at though as the frangipan seemed a little harsh at 70vg/30pg and I was wondering if 80/20 or even max vg would be better or if it would mute the flavors too much? Thanks in advance!

Three things can mellow sharp flavors in general: time, more VG, and lower wattage. You could sure mix with more VG, but it might be easier to just set it aside a day or two, or drop your wattage a little if that's possible.

But what recipe do you mean by "frangipan"? This one? http://vapingunderground.com/threads/hics-pear-apple-frangipane-fruit-almond-torte.1830/? If that's the one, the harshness is Brandy, which does have a little wallop to it when it's fresh. Brandy mellows with time (wattage & VG won't really take the edge off). I love that harshness now & then, but if you don't, just always let any recipe with that flavor sit 2-3 days before you vape any.

...and HELLO, by the way! Always great to see new people discover DIY!

It was Apple pie 4% and marzipan 2%, and I added 2% fuji to increase the apple flavor... Nothing I would imagine to be harsh so I'm thinking it's the pg. It's been sitting a few days but still has a harshness that I assume would be throat hit from pg so I was thinking about mixing up an 80/20 batch to compare. I believe the original called for 1% custard which was out of stock when I ordered my supplies and I'm wondering if that would mellow a mix too?

On a separate note I was looking at a few recipes of yours that mention containing joy which I'm afraid of due to the numerous "stale beer" comments but wondered if zeppola or metaphor (or something else entirely) might be a substitute? If so, would you recommend 1:1 or are they stronger/weaker than joy?

Also, thanks for your quick reply! I've been lurking many of your threads and really appreciate the contributions and assistance you have offered the community. I plan on buying as many of your recipes I can, at least until I get more courageous and start mixing on my own!

That 2% Fuji is a lot of a very "edgy" flavor, so I suspect that's the issue. Yes, Custard (or any other cream) would tame it some.

There aren't many FA flavors that can stand in for others without changing the results a lot. I don't consider any that you named as a sub for another; I use each differently. But DIY is all about pleasing your own palate, so if you love one of those, there's no reason you can't try it in any recipe you want. They're all roughly the same strength.

The best test I know to see if Joy is a flavor you can enjoy: Gooey Coconut Cookies. Even people who swear they'll never use Joy (almost all!) love what it does there - and no other flavoring can take its place in that recipe.

Just bought the coconut cookies recipe and added joy to my cart... Fingers crossed and thanks for the advice!

I'm waiting on an order from them as well...since Dec 20th. When they gave me the first estimate of 3-4 weeks I replied that I get stuff from the US in 8-10 days. The woman wrote back, "Not using Italian Postal Service". :(

Wow - almost 2 months! It's been probably a year since I ordered from FA Italy, and I remember getting impatient, but I'm sure it was faster than that.

I remember mail-ordering crappy toys as a kid & waiting "6-8 weeks for delivery." You'd think 2017 Italian Postal Service could do better than that!

Yes if you order from FA italy it takes long time to arrive. They usually ship within a week but the transportation is really slow.

Anyone tried UP lately? I've been hearing that it's a really good coffee flavour.

Anyone tried UP lately? I've been hearing that it's a really good coffee flavour.

It's a milder, sweeter, boozier (I taste Brandy) Tiramisu flavor. It's great for new/nervous DIYers who are reluctant to buy lots of flavorings, because it is an appealing easy-to-mix single flavor. Once you have a good collection of flavorings you can mix better on your own, but Up absolutely beats other brands' coffee flavorings & most coffee fans would say it's smoother & tastier than plain Tiramisu.

When I first tried FA's blended flavorings I was disappointed - I didn't realize they were blends when I bought them. Now I appreciate them more for what they are: an easy, quick start for new DIYers. I remember my first set of PG, VG, nic, flavorings, syringes, warning labels, (gloves, masks, test tubes, funnels, lol...) -- anxious I'd screw it up, then bummed I couldn't stand to vape what I'd mixed. If I'd had FA premixed, I'd have been a more confident DIYer more quickly & without waste. Coffee flavors are what drew me to DIY in the first place; Up would have saved me a whole bunch of time & money (not to mention the trauma of tasting TFA Coffee Clear at 15%).

New today at HIC's Mixes : Vanilla Blonde (coffee)
p Vanilla Blonde.jpg
"If you like your coffee flavors sweet and extra creamy, this recipe is for you. Canadians will taste a vanilla double-double; Americans will taste vanilla latte with whipped cream, but the real inspiration for this recipe is an Italian coffee dessert called "affogato." Affogato is a scoop of vanilla ice cream with hot espresso poured over it; this one includes a sweet butter-rum accent. This recipe requires only diketone-free FlavourArt flavorings, including Vanilla Bourbon, Vanilla Classic, and Metaphor."

---
P.S. "select" Starbucks will make you an affogato now; they're testing it to add to the menu.

Wow, just got a call from DHL and my package from FA/Italy is in Dubai.

My first shipment of 7 flavors in December never arrived. After a month they said they'd reship it no charge, but I'd have to pay for upgraded shipment, which I agreed to do. I then told them to wait as I wanted to order more flavors, and could they combine the two orders. Yes, they said.
I then ordered 25 flavors and paid for it. It took them 8 days to ship it. They said it was a problem in the factory. On the 16th they said they shipped the latest order. Two days later it's in Dubai and they'll bring it to my work tomorrow. They obviously paid for the 2 day deliver service which is not cheap. However, I've gotten no reply to the question, "Did you remember to add in the first shipment?"

Either way, I'm happy that I'm getting something, finally.

Well, I got the shipment today. Unfortunately, the first shipment wasn't with it. That bunch has the custard, catalan cream, espresso, lemon sicily, marzipan and vanilla classic which, as you know, are some of the most necessary ingredients for your recipes. I can't win for losing. :(

I have vanilla bourbon and tahiti. I'll try them both with Apple Fritters...I'm looking forward to making your recipes.

We have a winner! Apple Fritters is great as a SnV. I used vanilla tahiti due to no classic, but I should get some one day.

It's currently at 8.5% and I think I'll move it up to 10%. I only stopped smoking 4 months ago and I think my taste buds need just a bit more. I'll find my sweet spot.

Very good, HIC!

Oh my! Vanilla Lime Cheesecake, oh my! You are a genius. As a SnV, it's the best I've tasted yet in my short vaping life. Even at 7.5% it's spot on for flavor intensity.

I've tried dozens of commercial juices and mixed over 90 recipes in the last 4 months and this is top 2.

Wow! And I don't even like lime very much.

I get them at http://www.bullcityflavors.com/brands/FlavourArt.html - I think the only US source for original packaging on FA.
but I notice right now it's showing "original bottle" out of stock on everything I check. Dunno what's up there!
They did a big sale, recently on original bottles. Not sure if they intend to stop stocking those, or if they're just out, lol.

due to no classic, but I should get some one day.
Yes, yes, yes! You must. That's my 2nd favorite flavor, ever.

Wow, my first order from FA was in December with the vanilla classic, custard, etc. It arrived in country on Dec. 26th and I got a message from customs to come see them today. It was the first order. It sat somewhere for 2 months until someone noticed it. Oh well, I'm happy I have it all now. I can't wait to try many of HIC's recipes.

response from writing in to BCV re: original packaged flavoring for FA;

We are not getting any more of the original packaging 10ml size bottles from FlavourArt. If the flavors you are looking for are sold out then the only option we will have going forward is the repackaged flavor.I apologize for the inconvenience.

Thanks,
Jeff
