According to the Hohm tech page on FB, the Slice started shipping to dealers....
She sure does look sweet on the Wrecker. I still like the Merlin better though.

So I ordered a G2 last night from the blvckmarket place. I've never bought from them or heard of them. We'll see.
I get all the hype about TC with kanthal and I'll surely dive in and give it a go but at this point I would be really, really happy with something that can reliably run SS in TC mode. My IPV 5 does pretty well. I get the incorrect "dry coil" message now and then but usually a post screw is loose or some other kind of shenanigans are at fault. These two rx200s....well I've fiddled and fiddled with them and I find myself simply using them as VW devices most of the time. I like the P4U stuff much better. I've been using them from the D2 on up so maybe I'm just used to them. With the D2 and the 4S I never got the flavor I expected from TC compared with a kanthal coil. With the IPV5 that changed though. The RX200s produces a nice vape in TC when it works. Anyway, now I will try this mod, the Hohmwrecker G2.
So are most of you using the stock SS settings? Do I understand correctly that this chip will determine by it's own magic which grade of SS a coil is made of and respond accordingly? Or do you find yourselves vaping SS by dialing in some kind of totally custom configuration?

I think most of us are using xxx mode. You can run any wire in that mode. Just make sure you adjust your FSK curve. Sounds complicated but trust me it's not. Once you dial this baby in you're in vape heaven. Congratulations on the new mod. I truly hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed mine.

Like DJ said the xxx mode is the way to go, I tried the SS and Kanthal modes but it was more complicated for me and I wasn't having luck. When I read on here how everyone was using the xxx mode for everything it all clicked. I only use Kanthal and SS and find in xxx mode my kanthal builds usually run in the 2% to 5% range for the FSK settings, SS is anywhere from 12% to 17%. You just adjust FSK higher if you want a hotter vape and lower for a cooler vape, once you get the hang of it you will love it. I am not a patient person either and gave up on the DNA200 as fiddling with the escribe was just not my thing, the G2 in xxx mode is a cake walk for me now thanks to all the info on this thread.
The G2 kicks hard in power mode as well, as good if not better than my IPV5. For me the FSK chip is the most advanced chip on the market right now, that's why I ordered a Hohm Slice too, need me an extra helping of FSK goodness

Oh Yeah! Hohm Slice should be shipping this week. Got my 26650's charged up and ready to go. Should be rocking a red one real soon. The black one stays in the box as a Vapocalypse mod.
Dammmmmmmmmit, my adrenaline just spiked hearing that they should ship this week, they can't get here fast enough. I am really tempted to contact vaporcube and see about will calling one so I could have one asap, they are only about 20 minutes from me. Hmmmmm, I already have the black on pre-order at the cloudy vaper and the red will be coming in the same package for a friend so I will get to see what that looks like. Maybe a Blue or Silver, must fight the urge to try and get one today...............ahhhhhhhhhhh

You back yet? I just bought a Noisy Cricket, too. I'm not sure what I'm going to put on it yet as most of my atties are all bottom fed. Might get me another Tsunami for it.

Yes, we got back yesterday evening. Did the yard work with Née today and almost died. God is it hot and humid here. We woke up most mornings up there with frost on the ground. Even when we went to lower elevations and it was 82, it did not feel hot with 15% humidity.
I got the NC over the Memorial Day weekend. I was racking my brain as to what to put on top of it. I also picked up a Tsunami that same weekend. It is not the 24mm version, but I think with the sale I paid like $15.
I dont think I could get them high enough to be used on the NC...unless you get a Uwell Rafale X RDA...6x.4/26KA1/40N80 Framed Staples with 6 Wraps/3mm ID will come out around .2 ...I could try and see if I can get them up to .38-.4 though...Ill get back to you on that.
I just got the Tsunami 24mm in yesterday...Its a much better RDA then its 22mm counterpart, even though its identical the fact it holds more juice and bigger coils and has more room all around it makes the biggest amount of difference and I love it.
I know Paul loves his. Not sure which one he has though...22mm or 24mm? For the price I paid, it should tell me if I like it enough to go for the 24mm version.
I would recommend some Fused Claptons 28KA1/38N80 (8 Wraps/3mm ID @ .38) for the best vape for series...

I have 2 22mm ones. Love them both. I was thinking of the 24 for my NC, but the NC is only 22 wide, so might go with another 22, unless I can find something else. Do like those tsunamis!
I watched a video on how to properly use a series mod like the NC, and it was recommended to be up around the .4-.5 ohm range. The guy was using 14 wraps of 24g k dual coils and getting .5. Works differently that parallel mods. Here, the voltage doubles, but the current capacity stays the same, so at full charge with a .4 build you'll be pulling 21A. I'm going to try to build 1 ohm coils for a .5 build when I get mine.
I think I will use my vtc5's with this one.
I find anything over .4 cool to cold for a vape I personally feel .38 Ohms is the perfect resistance for Series.
A .08 Fused Clapton build on a Parallel Box is the exact same in vape as .38 Fused Claptons on a Series box, this should give you some insight on it.
I plan on that range for mine. Parallels are great for really low builds and longer battery life. Series mods are in your face power hits! This will be my first series mechanical, and watched some stuff on them to be ready. I guess I'll just put the regular pin back in the velocity mini and use that until I come up with another suitable atty. I plan on using either my VTC4's or 5's, or my 25r's.
If I were you I would Grab a Cthulhu Shuriken, Twisted Messes Squared, or a Goon RDA...The Shuriken is a Goon thats 22mm and has more airflow options and is half the price....its a great RDA.
I just asked Tom if he can bottom feed this one. Looks good. Not for the NC of course. Looks like it would be good on my new mod.
I'm waiting to see what everyone else thinks of it before I get one. I'm hooked on the G2, but interested to see if that slice is any good.

I found one the same price as Element, but with free shipping. Might go for that. I like the deep juice well and able to clamp down on any concievable wire out there. Nice! This one would be good for the Cricket.

Did a quick build for my griffin. 2x26k/32k 6 wraps at .17 ohms. I have it on my G2 running 130watts at 14.5% fsk at 380F. Vapes great and has some really good flavor. Better than some of mine wrapped in 40k.
Just did a 10x.4n80/40 ribbon that I'm going to put in my boreas when it shows up at the end of the week.

I have about had it with the g2. I cannot get good taste, regardless of what I put on it. I can build a mech and I can put the same thing on the hexohm with great results. On the g2? Nothing. This is in watts and TC mode. I use xxx mode for TC and understand the idea. I have 24g/36g KA1 Clapton I bought from Lightening Vapes a while ago that tastes like PURE-T-CRAP. I did 5 wrap singles, 6 wrap duals and a larger wrap dual. I tried 2.5 ID and 3.0 ID. I used multiple power levels.
I tried 24g duals on the g2, sucked. I never like 24g KA1. Maybe that's the issue. I tried both my comp vape RDAs, which are great on a mech, my mutation x v3, which is good at lower watts to me, and nothing.
I am at a loss. I don't know what else to do other than scrap it and eat the loss. I don't have any button issues. The device appears to be working perfectly. I tried the same build, tonight, on my g1. Same experience so that rules out the g2 issues. This may have been money down the drain for me.

Im not sure I understand.....you can build a mech and it taste fine but for some reason it doesnt taste the same on the g2? You do understand the G2 is just powering the device that you put on it and other then the amount of heat and how the heat is generated it doesnt do much other then that...
I do understand that which is why I don't understand why I don't get the same flavor. I rebuilt one so let me try it. I have been trying different builds with no results. Power is power and I get that.
Normally with Voltage drop your getting around 3.8-3.9V so start there when trying to find a setting. With the G2 there isnt a delay for the coil ramping up, its instantly as hot as its set to so try it lower then you normally would want it to be so you get around the same type of vape as your actual mechs. Other then that I dont understand how you could fix the issue...maybe a coil with larger mass so it can take slightly more time to ramp up fully?
