Last night I looked at the cloudy vapor site, I think, but they were saying the red and blue slice will be shipped around the 15th.

Like DJ said the xxx mode is the way to go, I tried the SS and Kanthal modes but it was more complicated for me and I wasn't having luck. When I read on here how everyone was using the xxx mode for everything it all clicked. I only use Kanthal and SS and find in xxx mode my kanthal builds usually run in the 2% to 5% range for the FSK settings, SS is anywhere from 12% to 17%. You just adjust FSK higher if you want a hotter vape and lower for a cooler vape, once you get the hang of it you will love it. I am not a patient person either and gave up on the DNA200 as fiddling with the escribe was just not my thing, the G2 in xxx mode is a cake walk for me now thanks to all the info on this thread.

The G2 kicks hard in power mode as well, as good if not better than my IPV5. For me the FSK chip is the most advanced chip on the market right now, that's why I ordered a Hohm Slice too, need me an extra helping of FSK goodness :vino:

Ok, I've had a bit to play with the G2. My thoughts...

This device is giving me the best vape I've had with my Uwell Crown. I have a handfull of those and I'm really familiar with them so that's where I started. The stock SS .15 coils have never been so well powered.

Wattage mode is outstanding. I'm surprised they don't emphasize this more. It felt smoother and more consistent and required lower wattage settings than I used on other devices. Everything I've read/heard is true about how this device handles power.

In TC xXx mode I've never had temp control done this well. In SS TC mode I could get there fiddling with the temp and watts but xXx mode is where it's at using TC with this device for me so far.

It just does everything so well. If I'm not pulling it drops power until I do. If I crank it up to 151 watts it backs off like it should. When I am pulling it's smooth and consistent all the way through. Unlike some other TC devices I've had, cranking the watts up "too high" has no negative effect on my vapor. While seemingly complicated it feels simpler managing the FSK curve vs TCR values and doing so works better than managing TCR values. The temp and watt functions do what they are suposed to once that is set correctly. I don't have to outhink the software to get a nice vape.

I tossed all my windows machines when they quit supporting XP in favor of Google devices which serves my computing needs very well. However updating my firmware will have to wait until I borrow someone's PC. That said I suspect it's due to a lack of firmware update but the numbers in my FSK settings menu doesn't correspond to mathematical percentages. My firmware is version 2.2.3. I'm at .00065 and everything is working great with the Uwell Crown. I tried .00010 and kept bumping it up in small increments and until I just ran it on up to .00069 and backed off to .0065. I may dial it in even better but for now I'm very impressed.

I changed atomizers though and ran into trouble. I went to an Avocado 24 (Just a tiny bit of overhang) with an SS clapton single coil and got no vapor. I put the device in SS TC mode and it worked but like with the Crown it was not quite there. I upped my FSK setting to .00087 and it's vaping like it should again. I know that at some point they did a firmware update the made the device recognize a new atty if you swappped as long as you hit the fire button in between. I'm not sure if the need for changing the FSK setting was just the different device properties or if I'm not up to speed on some process to make the device recognize a new atty on this older firmware. They both had SS coils. When I put the Crown back on it's not working at the settings that were working great earlier. I'm missing something here regarding changing atomizers.

Well of course I ordered a dark blue and red one. One from TCV and the other from VC. No shipping notice yet. I guess Ben is in the kiln fanning the red and dark blue ones. LOL
Absolute BS what Hohmtech is pulling on the blue and red ones. They should do something for the people that ordered those colors. Really starting to piss me off that people are getting theirs and I'm not. If I would have known Hohmtech was so incompetent at releasing new products I would have picked a different color Slice. No transparency or communication at all on their part. All these morons do is apologize which doesn't help me one bit. I would suggest that anyone else waiting on a blue or red one hit them up with an email. Let them know they fucked up.

Make sure you reset the resisitance when you switch attys by pressing the fire button untill it says no atomizer. I know I have forgotten to do this on numerous occasions. Not a big deal if you have 5 Corwns with the same coil but if your using different coils in different tanks it can really affect the vape.

I agree it was a poor decision on their part. Don't release any until you can release them all. A few more days wouldn't have been as sour as releasing some and not others. :cuss2:

It is more a decision to release something since they were at least 2 to 3 weeks past the originally projected date.

I wouldn't have minded if they would have been up front from the get go. Communicate with your loyal customers and do the right thing. If they were smart they would throw in a 26650 battery and say sorry our bad. Post something on FB about the delay. Do something. This is a real shit move by Hohmtech and definitely changes my opinion of them. The funny thing is they shove these mods up every reviewers ass but when they screw a regular customer they just don't give a shit. Busardo trashed them and they sucked his ass to straighten things out. They gave the mod to that burnt indoor smoker guy and he's all over youtube calling it a 300w box. They haven't even replied to my last email. They need to get their priorities straight. Piss poor move in my opinion.

Like I said, if they are truly telling the truth about it only taking 3 day to finish the red and blue ones, wait and release them all at once. We would have been none the wiser if they did.

How could they have known there was an issue with colors...come on.
Really? It's their business to know. No one has a problem with the fact that theres an issue. I have a problem with the lack of communication. Plus if there is a problem a good company takes responsibility for that problem. Just apologizing is really not enough. What's the use of pre ordering if I'm going to get my mod later than people that didnt pre order? If they would have sent an email out 2 weeks ago letting us know those colors were going to be delayed I would have absolutely no problem with what their doing now.

Deuce, is this necessary to reset the resistance with the same coil in a different Crown? Say the .25 may read .26 or .27, should I be resetting the resistance even with a very minimal difference in resistance?

I do by force of habit but in that case its not necessary.

I do understand the communication thing. I am always ranting on lack of communication and I'm sure they see this thread. If they don't they need to. Maybe they don't understand their customers or think one customer can't make a difference. A forum thread sure can and I'm sure this thread affected their sales, some, down.

That's all it would have taken. A quick email or even a FB post. Especially after all the delays. Let's not forget this mod was supposed to be out in the 2nd or 3rd week of May. Shitty way to run a business.

I think that is what prototypes are for. Seems they had plenty of those.
The company producing the cases may have not let them know there was an issue, this is China we're taking about.

I agree if they knew it's quite shitty. The Cloupor Mini+ had a similar issue with colors, other devices have as well. Apparently it's not uncommon.

Someone call them out on Facebook, ask why no warning. Or call them and ask.

The prototypes I saw were all black. When they received prototype cases for color verification I highly doubt they were told this one and that one take longer.

I could swear there is a Facebook post by them at a trade show with all the colors. I could be misremembering. But the more I think about it, I think it is bs. You have to have all the cases painted before you can install the electronics and it seems like that should have happened a long time ago. Especially if they were only being delayed because they were tweeking the software. o_O

I just received my second g2 black color. So excited open it up and ready for upgrading it. But fuck there is no USB port. My views on Hometech is very questionable now. I guess will unbox my limited Ed. To see what else I am in for a surprise. Just emailed them waiting for response.

I would reset it anyway. Just because it's supposed to be the same coil doesn't mean they are both going to be the same resistance. If you've ever Che led different coils they are sometimes off by quite a bit. Just my $.02

There is its the Vegas show. They also claim that the Slice is 100% engineered and designed in America. That burnt indoor smoker guy had a gray one over a month ago. They really have no defense. There is no reason why they couldn't at least communicate with their customers. I'm not even mad about the delay. I'm mad about the total lack of responsibility and communication. They're not even answering my emails anymore. That's bad business. I agree with you its a bullshit excuse. They claim the red and blue ones were delayed but if you look on their fb page people are posting pics of both blue ones that they just recieved. I call bullshit.

It's a micro USB port.

So China fucked up the cases. Or they actually had production setbacks. Big deal. If your feelings are so hurt, don't give them your money. It seems to be a substantially cleaner release than the g2.

Whose feelings are hurt? The whole point of a pre order is you pay to be first in line. Whats the use of a pre order that I am paying for if I get skipped in line. Also, when you pre order they ask that you send them money first. So, its not as easy as dont give them your money since they have it already.

You sure thats a G2? That looks like a G1's internals behind the door...

When buying the Hohm Wrecker Make sure it says fires down to .007 Ohms! If its .05 its the Original!

So, who amongst you has the Slice? I'd like a size comparison to something like the G2 or the Ipv D2. I'm looking at the Presa 100w and for the price....I know it's not a fair comparison as far as capabilities, but while my red slice is ripening. .....

Also does the Slice come with an 18650 adapter?

I was thinking about the slice and wondering why you get a 500 day warranty with that but only 90 day with the g2.
