Thats strange the flavor changes with the same coil, same wick, same juice and same atty only on different mods at the same settings. Its like cooking the same meal in the same pot with the same ingredients and same temperature on 2 different stoves and saying "Nah, I dont like this one, this stove tastes funny".
The wattage on the box is more accurate then it should be but its a constant heat as soon as you hit the button, Mechs-even without voltage drop the heat isnt as fast as it is on the G1/G2 and the coils take a second to fully heat up. Im sure the settings are a bit too high for the build your using and would start atleast 30w lower....70w may not seem like alot but on the Hohm Wreckers 70w is the same as 99% of other box mods at 150w....so keep that in mind when setting your power.
You may be frying your juice out of your cotton faster then the cotton can wick using as much wattage as you are for that build and this could easily be your issue with flavor.
So if I am using this build I would start at 30 watts? I thought about this and you probably right. I may end up trading or selling both of them. I still don't know what builds to try with the wire I have. I like 22g in the mech. I guess this isn't good wire for a g1/g2.

James, I love Colorado too, but I hate even a trace of snow. Regardless, If I was to do it all over again I'd pick Colorado to live. The humidity is what makes that state just about perfect. Hell, even in Boulder they don't get much snow during the winter. I was at Breckenridge last March, it was 30 below zero, in Boulder it was in the upper 60's...perfect.
BTW, did you buy any property?
I have two 22's as well Paul, I was going to send them to Tom for sex-rearrangement but haven't got around to it yet.
I'll have to try one, they been sitting in the boxes since I received them about a month ago.
I have to agree with you folks who like the chip better than the DNA 200, I'm not one for screwing around with settings via computer, just xxx mode and vape away, no jacking around with damn software. I could give a shit less about pictures and all the other nonsense evolv has inundated the software with.
I need to get more acquainted with the software Deuce. Being a grouchy old man, at times I have a short fuse....

I got a shipping notification from blackmvrket that my G2 had shipped yesterday morning. Interestingly my Hohm slice that I ordered the night before also shipped yesterday. I thought it was a preorder but either way I guess I'll find out how much I love this FKS chip very soon. I ordered from vapor cube. I also tried liion out for some batteries. I've gotten burned before. Great thread.
I was having a lot of issues with my G2 when I forst got it. Weak vapes, no flavor... All if it. I was used to the vape that I got from my RX's. after playing with it and watching a number of youtube vids I figured out how to get this thing to really sing in TC mode. Now it is my favorite mod. I am currently rocking a dual fused clapton build 2x24g/34g all SS 3.5mm 6 wrap coils in XXX mode at 510f 151 watts FSK set at 10%. it may not seem to be hitting as hard as my RX did but it is a damn good and tasty vape.
I would use SS for its quality of vape but if your looking to increase the time it may take to ramp up and retain heat then kanthal would be your best bet but your can use SS in power mode just like Kanthal.
They kept it at a preorder probably because Hohm tech needed more time so they said 2 more weeks and it only has been a week so they keep it as a preorder in case all of the first batch went to preorders if that makes any sense

Man, wtf I ordered 2 Hohm Slices. Just got notification that one of the colors I ordered is being delayed from Hohmtech. This really sucks ass. So pissed. They haven't even sent me tracking on the one in stock. I should have known better and ordered from Vapor Cube.

Yep. Such BS Hohmtech is pulling. What's the fucking use of a pre order if I have to wait for the color. Meanwhile, you can order another color and have it before the one I preordered. Really disappointed in the way Hohmtech is handling this. That's why I fucking hate Pre Orders. Never again. I want a IPV6 so bad but I've been burnt to many times on pre orders. Now i'm just going to wait.

I'd wait on ordering the IPV6. I was just reading a thread where they announced the IPV6X. Classic P4Y. Already talking about an upgrade for a mod I don't think is out yet.

Yeah, I'm never doing that pre order BS again. I will wait. The good news is at least my black one shipped but this is a Busch League move by Hohmtech.

I contacted vaporcube to see if i can just will call a slice and they still haven't got back to me. I am going to pass right by there location in about an hour. Sort of pisses me off that they don't return a message from a potential customer for over 24 hours.
This is exactly why I went with the G2. I'm a technology guy but sometimes I just want shit to work.
I'm pissed off at my G2. I've had it less than 2 weeks and the battery tab broke. It was working fine then I changed batteries and I noticed the spring was coming out of the bottom of it. The black thing that holds the spring in broke. I don't know how. I just put my batteries in gently. I don't slam them in there. Now I have to pay them $8 to prove my age and have it shipped back to me, pay to ship it to them, and I'm out of my mod whilst it's being repaired. I k ow shit breaks but I own over 20 mods and I've never had one break where the spring holds the battery in place. I mean shit happens but now I gotta spend $20 bucks to get it fixed. How long will this fix last or will it happen again after 2 weeks. I have 3 Realeaux's. 2 RX and a DNA and they keep on and one has been dropped so many times now. I have babies this box. Won't take it outside the house. Only use it when I'm on the couch so I won't drop it. Then I change my batteries and it shits out on me. Don't get me wrong I love how the box performs but this is fucked up. And now knowing its $20 every time I need it fixed and after 90 days I'm on my own. I ordered another one before this happened. Now I'm wondering if I should have bought another one.

@raymo2u Okay, I built with 24 ss. I didn't like the color of the coils so I pulled them. I did try them, which was probably a mistake. The taste was good but it started to decrease. I put a 0.2 dual 24g kanthal on the velocity and put it on the g1. I set the power using volts and not watts. It was at 80 watts but I was using volts since I am more familiar with that due the mechs. It tasted perfect. I also think I was using too much cotton for the tails so I decreased that. Another think I did with my other less aggressive mods is push the button and wait for the coil to heat. According to you, you cannot do this with the g1 or g2 so when I pushed the button I vaped. It corrected the burning problem since it was pulling juice from the get go.
I did use the 3.0 ID like we discussed. I also think 2.5 is too small for this mod. For my other mods 2.5 ID is probably on track for the vaping style I use.

Here's the statement Hohmtech gave me on the red being delayed. I'm sure the same statement applies to the blue.
Red takes 3x as long for the cure process due to high pigment count in the liquid ceramic. Wish it cured at same speed and it would have released 2 days ago. But rest assure its on the way, everything is looking great, we can't rush the cure and bake process. If didn't preorder though, it would be about 3 weeks before you could get red as 100% built are presold (you being one of them orders).
Wish I would have known this before I ordered.

And now my G2 wont fire my coils in TC mode... Its been rocking all day, but suddenly it is wattage only for me. WTH..
Mine is like that sometimes. I have to adjust the rda.
I know you all are tired of hearing from me but I finally got a great TC vape from the g2. The build is working. Not sure if setting it to 151 is right but it tastes the way it should. I know it throttles but the Velocity rda always makes me cough.

Hello everyone, I just joined VU. Just received my g2 limited Ed. Waiting for batteries I recently ordered to arrive and try out this mod. From reading messages here seem like home wrecker is not an easy mod to use. Hopefully I will learn something from everyone here.

@The1only1 , welcome to the VU. I have 3 HG2s, love them, use them a lot ( actually 1 is in the box) The easiest way is to use the xXx feature, you'll find more knowledgeable people here and they are very helpful. Enjoy your G2

My G2 and my Hohmslice (one word?LOL) arrived at the local post office this morning. They should be here when I get home from work. My 26650 batteries are still in PA but I'm probably better off learning the G2 first anyway. Like bear said the people in this thread are helpful. If your doing TC there is a post a page or two back giving some numbers to start with using the XXX mode for different wire types.

All true. Plus we have Raymo2u here. He's our resident expert on the Hohm Wrecker. Chances are if he can't help you then you're probably going to have to call the company. He also makes some of the sweetest coils you've ever seen.
Have to agree. If it wasn't for raymo2u he would be the owner of my g1 and g2.
Now I am kind of annoyed I didnt get the g2. TC seems interesting.
No I don't wanna get rid of it. Just pisses me off that it's a problem that they were supposed to have fixed now I gotta spend $20 after less than two weeks owning one. That's just disappointing to buy a mod for over $100 then spend $20 two weeks later. Oh well shit happens
Ok ended up getting a red g2. Going to rock a black boreas on it. I guess having two holmwreckers is better than one right?
