On the v1 Steve where the markings are etched in, it will just be the male female signs. On the v2 it has ohm symbols as well as the male female signs etched in.

Which 26650 are you running? Any issues? I know the Stout had problems with the size of certain 26650's.

I got the Tiffany blue as well for my wife. It's really nice. Amazing how hard it hits considering its size. I too am using Basen blacks. @Jon@LiionWholesale said they were the best. It's a little heavier than I thought it would be. This is my first 26650 mod too so I didn't know what to expect. Pretty kewl little rig. I gotta buy another one now for a backup. Lol

Yeah, and it is not like I don't like their products. I have 3 G2's and 2 slices I preordered. I think I will just finish my MM and then get me another.

The green Efest 26650 works in the Hohmslice fine as well. Good to know the Baesen will work. That one is in the mail. I picked this Efest up at a local vape shop. I haven't played with more than the wattage and SS modes but the setting for ss 316 is vaping very well. I just wish I could update the G2!
@TDC123 the only advice I can offer is make sure you are logged into the administrator account and there is a driver you need to install. You also need to go into the G2 menu and turn on the upgrade port, hohm has a video on how to do the update on the G2 page.
As far as using the FSK for most of us it is the easiest to just use the XXX mode (all metals mode) instead of switching between kanthal, SS etc. I have found SS needing anywhere from 9 to 17% FSK and Kanthal 2 to 7%, it just varies on a lot of things, if you want a hotter vape FSK up, cooler FSK down.

On the chance this may help someone else someday I got both my G2 and my Hohmslice updated. It took maybe 15 minutes after wasting an afternoon on it..
I used m USB 3.0 port. I don't know if that mattered or not. I suspect but don't KNOW. I also ditched that little update cable that came with the Hohmslice in favor of a "high speed" cable I charge my android with.
I used the update installer software from Hometech. Ray's may have worked just as well.
I opened the updater, selected the update I wanted to install and selected the open button.
I already had my usb cable plugged in to the computer. I turned my devices usb port on, quickly plugged in the usb cable and started the update sparing not a nano second. I caught my computer recognizing my device once after moving to the 3.0 port and the faster cable but I was too slow on the draw and the computer one that time. That was the last time for it to taste victory tonight though. That was the first time my device had shown up in the destination window.
I think, I don't know but I think I was simply getting information moving between my computer and my devices before windows 10 could send me another nasty "I don't recognize your device" message right before my device would shut off and restart. As soon as I saw my device show up in the little destination window I hit the start update button and I wasted no time going through the process with each individual upate, one at a time in order. The updates went lightning fast over the faster usb port. I suspect that my computer may have stopped that flow of information in mid update had it not went so quickly. It may not have though. Perhaps windows knows to leave it alone once the information was flowing. The moment I clicked "leave update" I would get that same warning that the computer didn't recognize my device message pretty quickly but it didn't matter at that point. The devices were restarting.

Those of you whom have been using TC with kanthal...
Have you noticed any difference between spaced and contact coils?
Also, to get it just right you start with a slightly wet wick, start low and work the percentage value up in small increments until the liquid just barely starts to vaporize correct?

No it should be the other way round.
I was thinking that. They cleaned up fine. Maybe it was just the juice that caused it.
Wait, the Slice has the XXX mode in it as well? Does it have the same exact chip as the G2? I was under the impression it was a new chip that didnt have that FSK TCR mode in it for customized TC on different wire
Seems to be same chip. Just tuned down to 101w

The slice also has a sub menu for SS with several options of SS wire type. My G2 doesn't have that. With 316L the setting works pretty well. I've yet to dial in the xXx and FSK values any better but I am admittedly new to this chip. I wish the G2 update would include those submenus.
What is special about the "Special Edition"? Appears to be the same price here as the regular one. And after reading this thread, wondering what are the chances of getting one that is QC challenged? 50/50? For $75 is it worth a gamble?

The limited edition one has the symbols etched out and silver. The regular just has the symbols but not etched out and silver. From what I've gathered it's worth the investment.

I finally got a reply from VaporCube, the red Slice is here and should ship in the next day or two. That means I could have it by the week-end so I don't need the Presa 100w so I'm sending it back! If the Slice is really nice, I might order another one, this time the regular one, not the LE. Now I have to wait and see reviews (and price) on the Vapor Flask DNA 133.....Thanks a bunch @Deucesjack , that's another "giveaway I have to win".

Youve got to, thats where the G2 sets itself apart from everything else out there. Go into XXX mode and mess about with the FSK TCR settings until you get it where you like it. Dont even have to worry about what metal youre vaping on. This thing just CRUSHES it in TC mode.Too bad its so bulky and a lil ugly (though its growing on me). I think Ive only taken it outside the house once or twice lol.
Its funny. I spent so much money on having a large and nice mod collection, but its really rare I take anything out with me other than my old beat to shit RX200 lol.
I'm tempted to get the G2 at that sale price, but then I look at the regulated mods gathering dust on the table. Between the Crickets, Tres Equis, HoG, and some hybrid tubes, the stuff with chips just sits idle. What to do, what to do....
