This mod is definitely something worth the wait. Excellent mod IMO.
The specs sheet I had clearly stated 200 watts using three 18650s, apparently the FSK board is quite flexible being able to use multiple configurations.
Although if it gets hot with dual 18650s I can't imagine it being able to handle more power. I have never gotten mine hot but I don't max the wattage.

Score. This G2 is absolutely everything I hoped it would be. I quickly dialed in 51% insanity from what I remembered from this thread and videos. This thing is really delivering a fantastic vape that's definitely different than my stable of DNAs. Not better...but fantastically different.
Quick comparison my exp with a DNA is that the G2 nomenclature of Ohm Wrecker is well deserved. Hohm run...I had to my elation made me do it.
Here's a pic and it's cloudy for obvious reasons. The Tornado that I got with it today is all the rave. My new fav at the moment

Most of us here use the XXX mode, it is for all metals, this way you don't have to remember what coils your running, just adjust FSK. I find that Kanthal works best for me between 2% and 6% FSK and SS316L in the 10% to 17% range, these are the ranges when using XXX mode.
To get to XXX mode you click the mode button 3 times then click it again 3 times to get to the screen where XXX is at.

OK, I ordered one of the G2's from Vapor Cube, but I am pretty certain I have the original, not the G2 I ordered. Is there an easy way to tell?

Just don't do what I did and change your other settings. Only adjust the fsk. It was great and I went and messed it up and now I think I have to rewick a brand new coil in my hurricane.
Also, price paid would def be telling. If it was "unbelievably" cheap...I'm afraid that was the G1. Vapor cube website is very misleading. I almost ordered the G1 based on price of like $50ish until I did more research. They also have refurbished units of both that are not clearly labeled except again by cost.

I am loving that there are so many adjustments. It's a tinkerers dream mod!! The DNA in me wishes for an eScribe software option...oh and that is Mac OS friendly...until then the box button presses will do!

I did that once when I first got the slice, got too excited for a new toy and burnt the cotton in my boreas. And this is coming from someone who already had the G2 for awhile......sigh.
Sometimes it takes a little while to dial the fsk in when you pop on a new tank. Once you get use to it though it is way easy.
You can turn up the watts as well, I was just showing a friend how it worked the other day. I had my Conquer with kanthal claptons on vaping it at 75 watts, about 500 degrees. I had my fsk set low, probably around 3% in xxx mode. I told him we can crank the watts all the way up and it will still be great. He did look at me like I was about to blow my face off

Oh, I was under the impression that the G1 didn't have the port.
Here: http://hohmtech.com/product/hohm-wrecker-g2/ they show the lowest firmare for the G2 is 2.4.3 so it looks like you have the G1. But still the G1's don't have a USB port, at least that is what the pic shows on the website, the USB would be behind the battery door panel.

Well my refburb cut metal silver was due tomorrow but it came today. Using it in power mode for now. I'll update the firmware (currently 2.4.4) and figure out the TC this weekend. How do I set the temp if I don't know what temp I like?
It came wrapped like a new one and I can't tell the difference. It doesn't like purple Efest batteries they're about 10mm bigger so the door won't sit flush. But the VTC5s are good. Time to go to IMR for a couple more pairs.

I didn't know what I liked either I just picked 400 and 30 out of the air and played with the fsk. I'm only on 2.4.7 yet but so far it's been great
I'll go back and watch the video that was posted. I'm going to set it up for my Mutation X 2/3/4 in TC. After I get the hang of it I'll give it a go with the Lemo 2.
I didn't think so too, but the instructions had info for it. But after looking at some youtube reviews, I am confident I have a G2, just can't get it to connect to the computer to update the firmware (tried installing the drivers, no go)
I am starting to think that in XXX mode the power is more of a ramp up and the temp is sort of arbitrary, the real key is the FSK percentage, if your vape is too cool then turn FSK up, too hot turn it down. Half of the time I don't even check what temp I am in but you can also turn it down if the vape is too hot. Right now I have my Mage on the G2 and the temp is at 550 and the power at 75 watts. I had the power higher at 100 watts but it was ramping up a little too fast for a long lung hit. The temp and power do make a difference but the real key is the FSK percentage.

Thanks. I did watch that, and downloaded the PDF. I get the connect to CPU message, but when I plug it in, nothing happens then the PC tells me the USB device failed. Can't get the drivers to load, they give me an error message. I am sing Windows 10. Finally just decided to email Hohm Support and ask for advice.
I'm using Win 10, albeit in Parallels on my Mac and I cant get device to connect to the updater. My PC shows DFU in FS mode or something like that, but I am unable to actually hit the update button. Before i break out this Win 7 laptop, has anyone else experienced anything similar on their machine?
My G2 is currently at 2.4.7 which is not that bad as the Resistance lock features are in this one, but would definitely be nice to get to the latest refinements

Sounds similar to my issue. I figured it was because i use Windows in a virtual environment... never had any issues before and eScribe for my DNAs work in this config... Hohm could be different. Please report back when you hear from them!!!
I know there is a USB driver you have to load, only one of them works in Windows 10. You have to make sure you are also logged into the administrator acct, won't work if your logged into a user acct.

USB fail is the furthest I gotten. So I'm running 2.4.7 on one G2 and bought another that already had 2.5.5 upgrade. The 2.5.5 works better. If you get a response from hohmtech support (I've tried emailing them 3 times), please post any info or advise they come up with. Thx
Yeah, same here, my red G2 still has 2.4.7 in it, all the rest have 2.5.5 and I really don't notice much difference, that's why I haven't done the update on red yet.
Shit I am still tickled stupid over the performance of 2.4.7.
When that wanes I will figure out how to upgrade then.

I did hear back from Hohm last night. They said they had discovered that they have discovered some Windows COM ports are interfered with by 3rd party software, I could send it to them to update, try a different computer, or contact Microsoft Support.
I did some updates on my computer and apparently the right driver was included, because I was then able to update. Yeah! Now to figure out how to use it!

So after a night of playing around with my G2...I mostly dig it.
Noticing now that my screen is just a tad crooked. Any one else have this? Tempted to open it up and fix it myself but not sure the exchange process from ecig.com where I got it.
I also feel the 510 connection is a tad loose. Meaning that atties screw all the down flush, but not very tight. The spring could be tighter to provide push back or maybe that's the design. Any one know what I'm talking about?
Like I said, overall a really like it. That screen crookedness is a drain on my OCD though.

If 2.4.7 is working for everyone else, then maybe firmware is not the issue. I had trouble with my first G2, ultimately giving up on kanthal TC. It has 2.4.7. The second one I got has 2.5.5 and will TC kanthal. If I set them up identically, 400 degress/70 watts/2.9 FSK and switch the atty (kanthal framed staple in a Boreas) back and forth, the one with 2.4.7 will not fire, the one with 2.5.5 will and TC works. If I set the FSK on the first one at 3.4 or higher it will fire, but no TC. The one with 2.4.7 has some other quirks and inconsistencies. Guess it's time to test the warranty and send it back to hometech...sigh
@Infinite1 I have pretty much the same thing with my 510 but it depends on which atty I use. Some work better than others. It does feel loose but I think it is what was used in all the g2 mods.
I am sure youtube videos will arise on changing a 510 in a g2.
