I tried the curve as low as 12% and it just wasn't doing it for me. Psychosomatic thing probably.

Got mine in today. Did the upgrade and that helped. My silver one has the top battery contacts sliding a bit, but once batteries are in its nice and secure, and it functions perfectly thus far. I was concerned so I called the warranty number and talked to Stephen? I believe. He said he is in some of the videos. I explained the situation and he said that his does it. Most are more secure, my other ones are, but he says it's fine. They're just bridged there so no wires are involved. Looking at the schematics he's not bsing me. He assured me his has done it for a while, he superglued his but it came loose again. He was kind enough to have a good 10 minute chat with me. He assured me that basically if anything goes wrong with something like the contacts, basically anything but the chip, they'll take care of it out of warranty. Seems the same as others have said. I thanked him immensely. Evolv is great with customer support, stellar, but to call and talk with someone, know that they pretty much cover these things aside from abuse out of warranty, it was just impressive. Also to take the time to talk to a customer about devices is just rare.

So I have a silver with sliding top contacts, lol, only without installed batteries, I'm not stressing it. And the blue and silver is pretty much flawless. Both are cosmetically flawless, and have film over the screen. They were shrink wrapped as new.

I'm getting used to the FSK. The XXX mode is different. I'm getting used to it. I'm finding that each atty seems to need different temps, unlike my DNA's. I think it's just the monitoring. Some seem to need some adjusting, and the kanthal does work, I'm getting used to it. I'm familiar with the V1, so I'm down with the tank of a box, I knew it was that way. I'm digging them so far. I just have to fine tune the different attys depending on the mode. It's different, but really nice.

I haven't put down my Able mod since Saturday. I'm getting back into mechs and that thing is a dream. I got too many toys at once. Too many deals. Back to vaping and tweaking the FSK.

certainly different from dna, it may not bee quite as geeky but it seems to be so accurate that you need to dial in every atty ant the g2 is so much more than just the chip,There are really solid mods with the dna 200 also a few china cheapies, The hohmtech g2 seems to be built around the chip, I am not knocking the 200 as i have a few I like but the g2 has turned into a favorite performer. can't really speak for the slice, but the company seems to be seriously customer oriented and seem to be willing to stand behind the products they make.

I've been saying this for a while now but you can't talk to those DNA fan boy's. They're kind of like most Harley Riders. If it's not a Harley Davidson then its not a motorcycle. Kind of a ridiculous way to go through life. I like the fact that I can see the beauty in every bike. We have such a fragmentation in this industry already. Who cares what you vape as long as you vape. I would never pigeon hole myself into one product and not at the very least try another product. Life's just to short not to try different things. Hell, I'm always bitching about Smok and the bad experience I had with them but today I find myself seriously look at the X Cube Ultra. Maybe it's stupidity, maybe I'm just an optimist. I don't know. I do know I never want to be so blindly loyal to a company or product that I'm not at the least willing to try something different.

Yeah, the FSK chip is different than the DNA200 and depending on the user it can be a coin flip as to which is better. I really enjoy using both and buy other mods as well, the best way to know if something works for you is to buy it and use it. People have different needs or wants so what works for someone does not automatically mean it will work for everyone.

The fun for me with this hobby is trying new things, just got my first higher end Yihi chip in the Revenant and am enjoying it. The Yihi chips are solid as well, would love to get the new SX550 chip when it is available but dang, that would be a pricey proposition.

If I had to stay with just one mod then the G2 would be it as it better matches my vape style. I can totally understand if someone would pick the DNA200 over any other chip and it would be my second choice. My opinion is just that though and I am not saying anyone is crazy for not liking it, it is just my preference.

I'm in the market for a sturdy ass mod, and just recently thought of the G2. As far as durability goes, how does it compare to the OG Sigelei 150 or the IPV3 li? I'm looking for something that's going to last as long as possible, and the two that I mentioned are known for their longevity. My main concern with them is that they have plastic battery sleds. Based on what I've seen in pictures and a couple of video reviews, the G2 appears to have a metal sled. Is that correct? What about the wiring and soldering, that sort of thing?

G2 is the the most bullet proof regulated mod I own. Yes the sled is metal.

I'd say it's a little more sturdy then the old school sig 150 which was study as hell. Used one for a year then gave it away and it still worked perfect

The G2 certainly meets the durability criteria. I still love and give a better "durability" rating to my IPV5, that thing is hard to beat, or should I say beat up. They can be had for $40 these days. Now, durability AND function...G2 is rock solid and wins in that Dept for me!

How about iPhone fanboys...lol. Don't get me wrong, iPhones are great...but there are sooo many other options. I personally use Macs for my computing, but I use Android phone devices and use Windows virtually on my macs. I love options and would not feel right with just "one" limited option.

at work I have an iphone, mac pro tower (running a VM with windows 7 side by side with mac OS) at home I have an ipad, Windows 10 laptop, samsung galaxy S7 edge phone. I have an Xbox 1 and PS4. options are wonderful. Only thing I don't have variety in is TVs, I always buy samsung, they are the best by far IMO, LG is pretty close too and vizio is nice for a bargain brand. I wouldn't buy any TV but a samsung or LG personally

I love the mods functionality, just wish they would come up with a more ergonomic design. The chip is the best on the market. Just don't understand how they can make such a fucked up looking mod.

TBH, I don't think it's bad at all. I now have a red LE model and a standard Silver that I wrapped in a JWRAP, both in my opinion are just fine....then again, im 6'4" with big hands. Suits me quite well. Love the mod!

Just wish they would come up with a better feel, the square box is out, streamline comfort is in. Could also do without the wacky symbols plastered on them. Really takes a special person to honestly say - damn that is one beautiful mod and those 90 degree corners are fantastic.

Unfortunately, build quality on the Slice is no where near the G2. Because of the form factor though it's still one of my favorite mods.

Guys what's the battery life like on the G2 compared to the OG Wrecker.
I had the bridge replaced and firmware updated on my OG Wrecker but battery life was still nothing compared to many mods. It was just stupid inefficient.

Is The G2 better? I want one but not if its the same battery issues of anything less than 50% and it would tell you to check batteries. I know/knew it requires high amp batteries but no one makes anything more than a true 20A constant output battery and since they say it requires a 25A... Well.. How can we use the nod to its fullest when there are no true constant 25A batteries.

Anyways,, battery life... What say you all? My typical vape range is usually 50w in either wattage or temp mode regardless of the coil, unless it's an RDA running .3ohms or less then I crank her up

New, ecig.com use coupon code ecig10 and get 10% off $73. Refurbed, Vapor Cube has them for like $55 but I don't remember the code. Many people here have ordered the refurbs and have been real happy with them.

My refurb has been fine. I like this board and would like another one. But I'm holding off to see if they come up with something different. The G2 is still my in home mod for the rda. My go to work and out mod is still the Fuchai 200w. I really like the form factor of the Fuchai 200w. If Hohmtech came out with something even close to it I'd be all over it.

I would have to find a way to get a G3, black web here I come. Wasn't planning on buying anymore 3 battery mods but the G3 is the exception. Even if it was in a RX form factor imagine how bad ass it would be if they used an aluminum enclosure....phew, sign me up.

Never mind the price - I'm loving mine. I'm vaping my Velocity on it with a fused clapton in 'xxx' TC mode as I write. Not yet had a dry hit in four days. Now I have it at 112 watts and 470 F. I had to really fool around with the FSK settings. I am now at around 32% and on my pre built coils I'm usually much lower. It seems every build differs. But once you set it for your build - sooo nice. On my 13/9 at ,14 ohms I'm at 33.9 and 480 F - even better vape.

Just in the short time that I have had mine I am seriously considering selling one of my DNA 200's so I can get another G2
I do like my DNA'S but to be totally honest I find myself reaching for my Hohmtech mods much more often.

Ssssshhh, don't tell the DNA fanboys.

With your vape style, you might get some pretty great batt life...I personally don't get very good battery life with my G2's compared to.my other mods or DNA's. I am usually vaping at 65-70 watts in power or XXX mode. That said, it's not terrible but I experience the same inefficiency that you noted as well, still love the mod. If I'm out, I know that I need to bring a spare set of batts :) As a reference, I did/do the same with my IPV5 or any other mod that neglected to include a balanced charger.

As big as the G2 is... This is probably my only gripe...no on board charging!!!

Well hell I grabbed one from Ecig w/the ecig10 coupon and priority USPS for $74

My baseline for battery life has always been and probably will be for a long time the sigelei 100 plus and 150
They are the same just different firmware but battery life is insane.

And I have the smy Sdna200 and frankly the temp control is a complete joke. I'm not gunna plug the stupid thing in to read my tank/RDA everything I mount one, and it's stainless temp control is the worst. Ni200 is a joke, it barely works.
I has the Daniel djlsvapes custom curves in it and I have yet to have a premade or hand made coil not torch cotton in a dry burn test or burn cotton in a wet test.

Believe it or not the best TC device I have is the Vaporesso Mini. That little thing's chipset is a beast. I don't think I have had a burn hit yet,

Don't mean to sound so snide but I'm sick of devices not doing anything close to what they claim aside from VV/VW mode.

Next time just spend $1 more by pairing it with a tank, coils, or a battery and you get free shipping for any order over $75. Still, a great deal on a great mod.
