What works for me is just setting it to kanthal TC mode with the latest firmware 2.5.7. I'm not needing to mess with the FSK, but if it doesn't seem to work for you go ahead and change the FSK to your liking.
TW
Thanks for the reply. I updated the software as soon as it came in yesterday. I had to move the FSK down. I was getting a strong cotton taste with the fsk value set to 50. I had to move it down to like 32. Not sure I am doing it correctly, but this is how I set it. I put the tank on at room temp. The wicks are wet. I move the fsk value way down, hit the power button keep moving the fsk value up until I can detect the coil starts firing. I start getting a little vapor. I usually set my temp to 420. I know I am not doing somethng exactly right though, because I can still get a strong cotton taste if the coil starts to get a little dry.

Thanks for posting those gopher, I take it you were really fond of the red seeing you have 2 of them.
Red is not really my color, but every other mod I own it seems they are either black or silver. Just need to change things up a bit. I did enable myself and just ordered another silver from vaporcube. $54 bucks can't beat that for a quality mod that the manufacturer stands behind their product!

I like the blue G2 but I so wish they made a green one.

I like blue, but since they had the gall to call it Dodger Blue, my SF Giants genes just couldn't deal with it. Green I would buy for sure.

Greens my favourite color.
Wish they made a green one.
I don't watch sports so can't compare colors to teams.
The one color that's ugly is there orange model! That reminds me of deer hunting.

Because of the hours I work getting my dead G2 ready to send in for warranty is going to take time. (no printer either) I haven"t called I'm just going to send it. But I went to the B/M I've been going from the first day they opened. They are good people and it pains me what the regs are doing to them. They still had a Black G2 for $110 which is more than a refub and less than a new one on line. But it doesn't matter cause it's mine now and I'm happy. :stars:Time to update the firmware and try to remember my settings. :shades:

The red can look like a blood orange in certain lights, still looks great though. I am really happy I got the blue, turning into my favorite. I use to have a silver but it was waaaaaay too powerful, with such great power I knew I wasn't responsible enough....lol.

Do you guys use kanthal mode or XXX mode for Kanthal coils? For some reason I find XXX mode to work better than kanthal or SS mode. By better I mean more accurate

In XXX mode or SS mode? I'm currently using an SS coil in XXX mode and it works much better than in SS mode. By the wire I'm using SS316L
I use 316 SS in xxx mode with a 12% FSK Curve. I have started using SS mode more since the last update.

I'll need to try it out again. Are you TC'ing an RTA ? I tried to TC my Serpent mini 25mm but it didn't seem to work. I figured it's because of all the factors such as airflow and wicking which is why it didn't work out for me.

Yep I use multiple RTAS without issue.

I even tried out the merlin RTA and it didn't handle it too well. I think that's maybe because it's a single coil mouth to lung type RTA and it's using a clapton coil.

Nah man, somethings not right. I have 4 Merlins and I run them that way on my G2 and Slice all the time.

How did it not work for you, dry hits, not heating fast enough? Just curious.

Well I got my Black G2 setup. Had to look in the thread cause I couldn't remember how to get into XXX mode. But the Mutation X 234 is cooking again in XXX mode,FSK 3.5%, 80 watts, 480F, dual Clapton's @ 0.23, cotton bacon V2, HHV Lemonade. YUM...:)

The Silver G2 will be fixed and returned to duty.

Figure If I do not like the silver I can plug it into the house and run all the electrical from it from what I have read
That's my plan for winter if the power gos. The silver has that much more power it is quite capable of performing well as an emergency power source for all the vital electronics!

I want to thank the people that took the time to post pictures of thier mods so I could decide on a color. Gonna order tonight and still have not decided. Such a rough decision. I have another question for you Going to ask some of you 2 experts another question. I usually vape from .4 to.6 ohm coils. I usually vape from 35 to 45 watts around 420-450 degrees. When I put it in auto mode so it decides the wattage I put it in battery saver mode. Seems like when my battery shows from 45% down the vape gets weaker. IS this the way it is supposed to work? IF I take it out of battery saver mode and just set it at 40 watts it does hit harder. So is this the way battery saver works? When the battery gets to a certain percentage it cuts the power so the battery will last much longer. IF so, it seem 45-50% battery life it cutting down the vape pretty quick doesn't it?

In battery saver it's firing a max of 45 watts, once it gets down below 50% battery it fires a max of 35 watts. You might want to try running it in 51% insanity mode to get you a better balance between battery life and power.

Well, I know everyone wwatching this thread has been sitting on pins and needles wanting to know which color I finally decided on. I wanted everyone on here to be able to get back to a normal nights sleep, so I am going to end the suspense. After much meditating and deep thought I think I made the wisest decision for me. Knowing the silver color has much more sophisticated electronics, I decided to go with silver and take advantae of all its capabilities. I think today I will go buy me an electric car. Knowing I can plug this mod in and probably get an extra couple hundred miles on the battery life, and all the other advantages, I just felt silver was the way to go. Thanks to everyone that helped me make my final decision.
Oh, 1 more question. So you guys feel it is better for battery life to just run in standard temp control than fool with the auto thingy?
Thanks again

So, I put 28g*2 fused with 36g all 316L in my Griffin 25. Running it in ss mode it seems like I have to crank it way up past where I usually vape to get a good performance. Is there a difference in 316 and 316L? The menu lists 316. I understand that the wattage needs to be higher to power the coils but I feel I shouldn't have to run my temp higher ad well

Put it in xxx mode. Start with the fsk curve at 10% and adjust it from there. This is the exact reason for xxx mode.
