btw, it ain't easy getting to that NO ATOMIZER screen, is it? Been trying about 10 times to do that again, can never get to it. That's like hitting the G2 No atomizer jackpot. lol

Well I just got my silver one in, Just updated to the latest firmware. I thought this was interesting. I took the same tank, which is my bellus. It has Kanthal on it. On my black G2 I am running the curve at 40%. I can take that tank off and let it sit for about 30 minutes to cool to room temp. Put it on the new silver G2 and have to run the FSK curve upo to 60% to get the same vape. The silver one will not even fire at 40%. I had set the ohm's back to zero also by hitting the button with no tank on it. So both mods running the same firmware. I thought this was interesting.
Also, the deal about the silver one being much more powerful must be true. I ran out of kanthal and just wrapped some barbwire in there and it was vaping great. just have to be careful with the cotton, those barbs will catch it.

When I was putting the bellus on my silver G2 that just came in. I got that no atomizer message a couple of times. The screw that on the 510 is not protruding enough to make good contact with the pin on the G2. I can't really loosen it cause it loosens the post where you put your Kanthal threw. I have to screw in a 510 heatsink into the mod. Even then it can be a little finiky. Does anyone know where you might get some of those brass or copper screws that go into the 510 from the bottom of the tank. I would sure like to have some just a hair longer.

For kenthal I'd suggest using kenthal mode. Setting your wattage and temp. Then going into the advanced menu and changing the kenthal curve starting low and going up till you get what you want. I used 14-18% for the tfv8 kenthal coils and it worked great. For ni80 it would be the same but set it to xxx mode. Idk what % I never used n80 wire

For anyone having trouble with their G2 not reading their attys, there's one of two things you can try. One of them should work. If you think your pin is too long, put a drip tip oring around the 510 on your atty right to the base and try that. If you think it's too short, get something to work the 510 in the mod up and down a little bit just by lightly pushing it down and letting it spring back up fast. Once you do that a few times, retry your atty.

I have a Blue, Red and Black G2 and all 3 combined still don't equal the power of the Silver. I have made a conscious decision to not add the Silver, I am afraid it will suck all the life out of my other G2's just from intimidation. Lol
The entire state of Vermont is run off one silver G2 in a chain link enclosure near the Canadian border.

Ok, I have an easy question that a search of this thread didn't answer.
What value do I use for NiFe52?

What value do I use for NiFe52?

Never used NiFe52 but figure try to match it to the closest material as far as the TCR is.

Here is a guideline when using the XXX mode:

XXX%20Mode_1.jpg

I googled it and it looks like NiFe52 is about the same as SS430, if that's the case maybe try the SS 430 preset. If not then I would try and set FSK to about 10% in XXX mode and adjust from there.

SS430 has a TCR of .00138. NiFe52 (CW) has a TCR of .0034. I don't think they are anywhere near each other. NiFe52 is Nickel ~52% and Iron ~48%.

I've said this from the beginning, the 510 on the G2 is not great. Not the worst I've seen but still not good.

The spring is weak, it has an o-ring in it where it should be delrin, it's about 1.2mm too shallow, and finally the damn thing is chrome plated brass.

Come on Hohmtech, give us a 510 worthy of the board that's providing power to it. We have this milled aluminum case, the best chip on the market (IMO), and a 510 that would be embarrassed to ride on top of an eGo. I kid a bit, it's not that bad but compared to the quality of the rest of the device it almost is.

I have noticed the 510 seems a little weak but every rda I throw on it it works, no issues...... yet.... fingers crossed. even the slice 510 is the same, no issues.

Other than the chrome starting to wear and the threads getting cut too deep I haven't physically had any issues, but there coming. Soon it will wear enough that it will strip.

I don't understand why these companies don't use better 510s, the best one I have used is on the Apollo Reliant...it's deep, thick stainless with a really firm spring with no wobble due to oversized threading.

I got an ipv6x (free) a couple of days ago and the 510 on it is better than the G2, the rest of the device is meh other than the form factor.

Totally OT but I would easily pay $100+ for a G3/Slice2 in this form, it's so tiny compared to any other dual 18650 device.

BTW folks, man i love those minitanks, don't know why. Just the ease, flavor, the way they vape, i just love em. and i have tried every other tank under the sun. Yes, i even got into building my own and all that, but that just wasn't for it. Hell, i bought this 150 made only is switzerland tank everyone local seemed to be dying for, didn't really like that one that much.

ANYWAYS, back to this story. Vaping on my Alien, put a different subtank on it, and the Alien won't read that now either! I have 3 subtanks, it still reads the other 2 just fine.

What is the problem with these subtanks? I am getting awfully tired of them.

Someone please give me a suggestion on a new tank to try that i can fall in love with instead. I would probably say the uwell crown out of all the other tanks would be my #2.

No wait, actually, the vaporesso that used the ceramic coils would be my 2, that thing was awesome, the flavor was second to none!

So what was the problem there? Well, ceramic coil after coil, I would just throw away, one after the other, could never break them in and get them to work. I almost would like to give them another shot.

Anyways, I don't know if I should blame the mods in this fight, or the supertanks. I do know I am getting pretty darn sick of the fight.

I know what you mean about the STM. I used to swear by them. Until I started to swear at them. Same thing, they would not read resistance on any mod. I had to replace the airflow base when that happened.

So, I moved along to the Crown. I didn't have the same problem, but they leaked. A lot.

Got a Bachelor. Never leaked, never failed to fire. Loved them.

Then got my first (and only) dual coil tank, the Aromamizer Supreme. No leaks, great flavor, takes abouit 10 minutes to coil and wick because of how easy it is to wick this tank.

So, there you go, three ways to beat the STM blues. New air flow base, Bachelor, Supreme. Forget the Crown as it is picky, has questionable factory coils, and will triple your juice usage by leaking.

Yeah, a lot of people hype the uwell crown and the herkales, but I have been there done that.

I will say this, I have hope. One tank that gets really gets good reviews is the Kanger Sub Tank Mini.

I have never tried that one. DEFINITELY going to getting a bachelor and supreme as well to follow up on your recommendations, and thank you for that!

Will report back my vapor family.

btw, been watching some you tube stuff, sentiment out there is that a Griffin 25 is a lot better than the Aromamizer. So maybe i will try a Griffin?

Update: Nah, i don't want to get into the build crap again, just wasn't for me. The Bachelor one I could do tho.

Freemax Starre is another tank with some stunning reviews. I think i should be able to find 4-5 tanks to begin the battle of what tank will be new and true to my heart.

Supertank, u will always be my first love, but u just couldn't stop not loving me. So many times I went back to you, so many second chances. I just can't take u back again. It's over....

Did you check the 510 on the tanks and make sure it's tight. Metal expands when hot and contracts when cold so the constant temp change causes things to loosen up in all tanks and rdas. Always a good idea to tighten and clean everything after 2 weeks of use or so.

As far as tanks with pre-made coils. Nothing beats the tfv8. For a mini the tfv8 baby beast or clieto are great. The tfv4 is a little better then the crown 2 imo

I have the 7ml Aromamizer Supreme , Griffin 25, and Billow V3 Plus. I have a thread on it in the appropriate section here. The Supreme is hands down the best RTA I own. The Griffin 25 and Billow V3+ sit idle on the shelf. IMO there is no comparison between the 3.

My favorite sub ohm tank is the Original Crown by far. I have 6 of them and I never ever had one leak. I use the .25 coil and I love it. The RBA section is sold separately for like $8 and provides and damn fine single coil low wattage vape. The Alleria is a great RTA for a newbie because you can see your coil. The Boreas is a cloud chucker with really good flavor and two decks that are really easy to build on. Its a frugal man's Aromamizer Supreme. I would love to recommend the Merlin as my favorite single coil RtA but I can not because of the seeping issues. I have 4 of them and all 4 were great for a few months but then all 4 began seeping from the base. Damn shame because otherwise its a great tank. I also still use use both of my Aromamizers V1 and V2. The flavor is so good on them even though they are bottom fill. Griffin 22 and 25 are really good tanks but I like the 22 better as I get better flavor from it. Definitely going to give the Griffin 25 plus a shot because of the new bottom feed wicking. I still use my STM's but tbh once I run out of coils they'll be put back in the box or sold. I just really don't vape like that anymore. Not really into the Genny style tanks. I've tried and own most of the popular ones and I like the Azeroth the best with the Avocado being a close second. I love variety and I own many different tanks and mods. I can not stress this enough. Variety is indeed the spice of life. My attitude is I want to try everything I can get my hands on. Yes it's nice to read reviews and talk about things but for me the real fun is in trying new things for myself.

Is it the new postless deck version? If so I really prefer that over my older AS with the velocity deck. You can put bigger coils in the postless version and the flavor and airflow have improved for me. The Gold looks really nice, tempted to get one but with the holidays around the corner and property taxes I should slow down on my hoarding

I love variety too, a lot of really good tanks and some duds. The only Griffin I have is the Eagle I won and it is OK but with all the airlfow open it is still a little too tight a draw for me.
For tanks with prebuilt coils the Cleito 120 is real good, gives the TFV8 a run for it's money. With all this talk yesterday I put in a fresh coil into the original Cleito and it is still a very good tank, not as good as the new 120 though. The Limitless XL is a power hungry juice monger. Takes more power than all of them to really get going but is a great tank as well.
Still like my RTA'S over the prebuilt tanks but I still get a great vape out of them.

The ijoy limitless plus is also a good flavor tank, with a single coil option. Its easy to build and easy to fill, has great flavor.
Sure wish I could find a silicon sleeve for the G2, don't really want to do a wrap.

Actually, i did a little looking and I have quite a few very highly rated tanks I have yet to experience. So, I might as well slowly start working my way down this list, let me know if you favor any.

-kanger subtank mini
-joyetech cubis
-horizon tech arctic
-vaporesso gemini
-FreeMaxx Star
-SmokTech Micro TFV4
-CouncilOfVapor vengeance
-CouncilOfVapor defiant
-SteamCrave aromianizer

So yeah, I guess those ought to keep my busy for a while. REALLY looking forward to trying that COV Defiant. That might be #1 on the list. Then try to go ceramic again to see if i hit the lottery with the gemini. Finally throw in the kanger or joyetech for fun. Start out riding with those 3 for a while.

He doesn't. The tanks aren't comparable.
It's like comparing a kayfun to a mason dumptank.
The build quality on the Supreme is supreme. But it's not made for big coils...not to say the Griffin was either but it's a bit better.

The Arctic was a great tank in its day but surpassed by subsequent tanks.

Wasn't impressed with the Gemini. They say no spit back with ceramic coils but that was not the case for me.

Smok Micro TFV4 is a real good tank. Great flavor and all around enjoyable, I think you will like this one.

CoV Defiant. It's ok but I actually liked the normal cotton coils over the ceramics. Can't replace the drip tip and if you are chain vaping it can give you bacon lips.

I like the Aromamizer Supreme over the older version. Solid tank and well built although can be a little pricey compared to others.

I haven't tried the others but got my first Freemax tank the other day, the Scylla SV. This tank will take Aspire Triton coils but not the Tobeco Super Tank coils. This tank is a good replacement for the Super Tank, they are pretty similar and the flavor is on point.

The freemax star is an excellent tank, can't make the damn thing leak if I tried. The price doesn't reflect the build quality either, it's as nice as tanks costing 5 times as much.

For a single coil RTA the Kayfun v5 is about good as it gets for my style of vaping, a good clone is $25.

I don't really like dual (or more) coil RTAs so no suggestion there.

Well, with this FSK value, I get just the vape I expected.
I can't tell a difference in the vape (amount, warmth, taste) between the G2, VT133, and Lavabox M.
I've used the same two tanks and flavors between the three mods.

with fsk I guess u don't need a pc to make ur settings like dna chips. you just set your desired curve after setting the type of metal.
I don't know I don't have a DNA box yet, soon tho

Well that's a good thing, the DNA chip is really well respected, I like mine. What makes the FSK chip different though is you can adjust your vape on the fly, want it hotter, turn the fsk % up, cooler turn it down.

I dont want to get into a "which chip is better debate" it would just be nice to agree that there both great chips and leave it at that.
