Keep in mind that not all wires are the same as well, depends on how well the mill does there job, especially when your talking about wire from China. Each metal has a different melting point so care has to be taken with temperature or some metal burn off will happen affecting the finished metal and thereby changing the TCR of that metal. I think the TCR variances of SS316 is usually around 87 to 92, that's what I have mostly seen as people's preferences. Given that we can't change TCR on our G2 presets we are lucky to have XXX to fall back on and tweak to our preferred vape.
Edit: Just reread @CDroverNL post, saw he was using 28g*2 fused with 36g all 316L so yeah, those specialty coils are much more hit or miss in regards to how well any mods SS presets are going to work.

from my experience my G2 handles all my SS wire great in SS mode. including fused claptons, claptons, and vertebraid. I do notice sometimes i need to crank up the temp a bit higher though but other then that it works great
Yeah, in general it does for me too. Every once in awhile I have to turn it up especially with Claptons or Aliens which are power hungry bastards, in those cases it can be different because of the ramp up time.
Thanks everyone. I figured out the culprit. The new coils I put in yesterday were so horribly gunked up that nothing was working right. It didn't taste bad or burnt but it wasn't vaping well. I ran one tank through the griffin with those fused claptons and they looked like they were in there for a month. I've never seen anything so bad b4. It's a fuzzy peach candy flavored juice. I guess it's very sweet

Yeah, I think there are a ton of x factors that affect coil performance. Coil material, build, tank, deck, juice, wicking, etc. The great thing about the G2 is you have the ability to adjust things on the mod to counteract all those x factors. If you have a silver one fuggedaboutit! That mod has been touched by the hands of the Vape Gods. Lmao.

For kenthal I'd suggest using kenthal mode. Setting your wattage and temp. Then going into the advanced menu and changing the kenthal curve starting low and going up till you get what you want. I used 14-18% for the tfv8 kenthal coils and it worked great. For ni80 it would be the same but set it to xxx mode. Idk what % I never used n80 wire

So if i am just using the supertank, what the heck should I be running this thing on? I think i have about tried everything, not seeing the difference. Pretty much Wattage and temp are still what matters most. So what temp mode should i be on? What porn mode should i be on? Digital watts mode?
Help me set it and forget it please!

This is great messing with it though, I think I have officially used EVERY setting on the thing tho, the depth you can go into with this thing is simply amazing! Definitely nothing else like it out there! It's fun and awesome that's forsure!

When you put a new tank on you have to clear out the old tanks resistance. While there is no atty on it press the fire button until it says no atomizer. This resets the resistance. This has to be done EVERY TIME you put a new tank on.

I had that issue on 1 out of my 3 I brought. They fixed it under warranty for me.
Also big shot out to their support. I emailed them today looking for a battery door. I dropped mine too many times drunk golfing and a magnet fell out and my dumb ass glued it backwards. They told me he had the same issue and just pulled the magnet holder part out with pliers and glued it back again so I did it and it worked great. Battery door back to normal. Also they don't sell just the door they sell the whole enclosure which is apparently made out of 1 solid piece of aluminum alloy. Was like 37 bucks for current customers. They gave me a solution instead of trying to sell me something I didn't need which was cool. And their response is fast

I don't have a super tank (yet lol I have a supertank RTA in the mail on it's way to me) but my smok tanks worked fine on it, just my RDAs for some reason. I tried the tsunami, avacado, and aeronaut and all 3 said connect atomizer. I did notice that smok tanks have longer 510 pins then my RDAs. The 510 looked a little crooked to me, i tried to straighten it out but it was still hit or miss. I sent it in and they couldn't replicate the issue but they replaced out my 510 pin anyway along with the FSK board with the latest firmware on it and it's been working perfect ever since.DJ- Unfortunately YES, i have been resetting the resistance each time. The first G2 I got had problems with some tanks and was going to send it back. Decided to use it over the weekend and after a couple of days it was fine. Don't know why but out of the 4 G2's i have bought that was the only 1 that gave me problems.
Like I mentioned earlier though for some reason the only tank I will have problems with is the Super Tank with the original coils. If I use the Aspire Triton coil in the Supertank then it always connects. I probably have 60+ tanks but the super tank with original coils is the only one that is finicky on the G2.

I want to curse this thread. My life was pretty content until I found this thread. I do not even know how I came across this thread, but I did. For some reason I decided to try the G2. It was a good price and I ordered a manufacturer refurbished. I absolutly loved the mod, that was last week. This week I ordered another silver one that is supposed to be delivered today. From being content, and saying I do not need another mod, to I want another G2. I just listed 2 kanger kbox mods on ebay I never used. they were put in a drawer. IF I sell those I will buy my 3rd G2. Why can't I just be content?
Uniman, don't know if this would be any help to you, but I have 4 bellus tanks, I really liked the bellus. They were more finiky about making connection. What i did was put one of those 510 heatsinks on the mod, then screwing the tank on the heatsink. I can relate. These are certainly the best mods available.
Yeah, after doing some "diagnostics" today, I think the problem is simple, the minitanks just dont have a long enuf "screw in" part to them, and for some reason, G2's don't work unless you have a long one. Sort of like my wife in a way.....
Cause i notice that all my other tanks screws into the G2 what seems to be quite a bit "deeper." Not a single problem with those tanks on it.
So yeah, I guess that is the issue. Sucks because the supertank are my favorite tanks to use by a mile.

clieto is great IDK how your getting burnt hits. did u try temp control? i usually hit it at 65 watts in watt mode and with long puffs _3-4 seconds) i get nothing but great flavor
also I have a supertank RTA arriving Saturday. I'll throw it on the G2 first and see how it works and let you know. gonna be hard cause my gold alien arrives today and i want to use the fuck out of it lol I already put 2870 puffs on my blue alien and it's like a week old
Just got my first G2 today. Playing around with it and learning. So far my only disappointment is it will not connect with my Griffin 22mm. Works great in SS TC mode with my Aromamizer Supreme Lite. Anybody got any ideas for the Griffin? It works great on all my other mods but get the "Connect Atomizer" on the G2.

Possibly. Would be OK for Watts mode but for TC it adds another connection which affects accuracy ( At least with the DNA mods I'm used to.). Maybe It doesn't make a difference with the FSK chip. Like I said still learning my way around and not sure of the nuances of this chip.
Yeah, I don't know, i probably effed up the cleito tank by messing around with the G2 settings or something, cause it was tasting great at first, then I really went high wattage, now burnt crap. Probably burnt it up!

Yes. Griffin was actually first atty I tried. That was the first thought I had when it didn't work. Actually just now got it to work. Pushed the pin in the 510 on the mod up and down a couple times and it seemed to return higher than before. Working as expected now. Must have just been catching a little. Whatever the reason it is working now. I was sure it couldn't be anything serious as it was working with the LIte perfectly.

You have to hit the fire button with no atomizer on the mod to reset the devices resistance. I really wish I could pin this post some where.
Resetting the resistance on the G2 or Slice:
1.) Mod must have no atomizer on it.
2.) Press the fire button until the mod says No Atomizer. Sometimes you have to do it more than once.
3.) This clears the current resistance to 0.00
4.) Attach new atomizer.
5.) Vape.
* Sometimes the process needs to be repeated to ensure the resisitance was cleared. If you do not do this every time you put a new tank on you will be working off the old resistance of the last tank you fired. This mod does not automatically read the resisitance of your current tank like most new mods today do.

wont' make any difference on a DNA or otherwise really. might add a little resistance but it should be negligible the effect it would have. plus with the G2 you can customize it enough to make anything work anyway

yeah the clieto coils can't really go above 70 watts or you'll burn them out. it's a great tank for lower wattage but it's not a TFV8 tank you can throw 200 watts at lol

Told them they should definitely figure out what is going on tho, because the supertank is heralded as the best tank for a lot of vapors, esp those of us who don't really make their own coils or mess with all that.
So, we will see what happens i guess. The guy said it is probably because the pin is too LONG. so, i started loose and went in slowly, didn't matter. However, I then switched to a different supertank, screwed that one in real loose, and that one did work. So you CAN get them to work, but it's just very hit or miss, and usually it's the miss.

Also, Djack, i see what u r saying now. I did not know their was a separate NO atomizer screen/setting, I though their was only CONNECT atomizer.
So, i just did that, pressed a bunch of times, till I got the NO atomizer.
So now am putting on my supertank back on, the only that I can't get to work on the G2 at all, no matter what i do or try.
