Hey Jimi,

Today after I did my whole morning mom gig….you know the hustle where you make breakfast, lunch and rush the little one off to carpool...I came back to my house and decided what would be the best way to start my scheduled/full day.

Normally, I start with meditation and exercise (currently loving Tracy Anderson).

But today that felt like an extra stress due to time constraints.

So did some yoga and then went into my bedroom and plopped onto my bed.

As I laid on my bed, I connected with myself.

I noticed how tense my body was.

I softened.

I started thinking about how so many days of my life I just carry that tension around unknowingly.

Tension in our body is a stress/trauma response.

It can be a response to things like car accidents but it’s often a response to emotional triggers/stress.

It’s our body’s way of protecting and guarding itself.

As I laid there on my bed, tenderly connecting with Self and softening, I began to think about all the massages I have received in my lifetime expecting for another person to push out this tension.

I wanted some external force to release me from my own creation.

I, mean let’s be honest, I think we all crave this on some level…..the magic pill.

There are physiological causes of muscular tension.

But in my case (and the case of most of my clients), this tension is perpetuated by a desire to control and protect.

This brings me to the concept of “in-tension vs intention”.

It’s important if we want to create an unordinary life by design (the kind we love) that we have a clear vision and intention of what we are creating.

So often we set off with a clear intention and then are so white knuckled on the results and how it’s supposed to look, that we don’t realize that we are no longer in INTENTION but IN-TENSION.

The protective mechanism of tension in the body serves as powerful feedback that we are in resistance to what we are currently experiencing.

And this guides us to one of those big life questions….how much control/effort is needed to create that which we desire? Versus, how much do we allow and receive?

And I think this where a deep connection to Self and our physical bodies is mandatory.

The body serves as our compass to direct us to a deeper knowing.

It will let us know when we are in resistance and when we may be possibly stirring up old trauma/beliefs.

And it is our job to listen to this communication and then discern what it is that is being brought up so that we can then give ourselves what we truly need.

Maybe it’s more rest.

Maybe it’s saying NO.

Maybe it’s saying YES.

Maybe the tension is outdated and we can support ourselves in trusting a little bit more.

But in order to navigate the path of healing, the spiritual journey, the path towards creating the life you truly desire….creating a deep and caring relationship with Self is a mandatory part of the process.

Without this relationship, you will remain IN-TENSION, not know why, and continue for an outside circumstance or person to fix you.

You can’t be fixed.

Because you are not broken.

You can only come back to Self.

Heart Patch Monitors Offer Alternative for Follow-Up Care

A wireless heart monitor that sticks to the chest is being hailed for its accuracy and ease of use, which could help eliminate the need for some cardiac patients to return to the emergency room for follow-up care.

A study followed 285 patients who presented to emergency rooms with symptoms possibly relating to irregular heartbeats, such as fainting, palpitations, and dizziness.

The patients were given the device, called the Zio Patch, which is the size of a 2-inch by 5-inch adhesive bandage, and instructed to wear it on their chest until it lost its stickiness.

The researchers found that 100% of the patients complied, and that 59% of them did not have arrhythmias and might not require any further workup.

“This is like the Netflix of heart care,” lead researcher Steven Higgins, M.D., of Scripps Health told the Heart Rhythm’s Society Annual Scientific Sessions in Boston.

A story of an older lady with Dementia.

Watched utube video the other day... It was a heartbreaker !

This lady in her 70s walked out the door of Walmarts and didn't pay for her stuff, she forgot.
2 Walmart workers caught up to her (like that was really hard :rolleyes: ) took her back inside. She offered to pay for the items, they said no...took the items. The employees called the cops after letting her leave the store.
While walking home, she was 2 blocks away from her home. 2 police officers pulled over and told her to stop. She kept on walking, saying I'm going home, repeatedly saying this. One of the police grabbed her arm put it behind her back and took her face down to the ground. They got up and police officer pushed her over to their car, still holding her arm behind her back. He was so forceful her shoulder got out of socket and broke her arm.
They arrested her, took her to jail and stuck her in a cell. Did not seek any medical nor take her to the hospital. She was in the cell crying out in pain and still saying I'm going home. The one who broke her arm was laughing about the whole thing.

I don't know the ending...what happened with her.
The whole ordeal was terrifying and it was just over 13 dollars worth of stuff.

They could be reacting to something unpleasant going on in their life. Maybe they are suffering, and dealing with their own issues that is causing them to be so mean. Listen carefully to them and try to see the situation through their eyes. Don't be critical, it might make the situation worse. Have compassion for a person who's hurting.

*-- Study confirms cases of human-to-cat COVID-19 transmission --*

People infected with COVID-19 who have cats as pets can pass the virus to their feline companions, and the felines may develop life-threatening respiratory symptoms, a study published Friday by Vet Record found.

In an assessment of two cats in Britain that lived in households with infected people and developed symptoms of the virus, one cat, 4 months old, developed severe pneumonia and died, the researchers said.

The other cat, 6 years old, had cold-like symptoms, as well as conjunctivitis, or "pink eye," but survived.

Each of the infected cats, along with nine other cats diagnosed with the virus globally, shared no feline-specific genetic strains of the virus, according to the researchers.

"Our findings indicate that human-to-cat transmission of [the coronavirus] occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic in the U.K., with the infected cats displaying mild or severe respiratory disease," study co-author Dr. Margaret J. Hosie told UPI in an email.

"Given the ability of the coronavirus to infect companion animals, it will be important to monitor for human-to-cat, cat-to-cat and cat-to-human transmission" as the pandemic continues, said Hosie, a professor of comparative virology at the University of Glasgow Center for Virus Research in Scotland.

Through the end of March, 14 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in household pets have been reported globally -- three in dogs and 11 in cats --according to figures from the World Health Organization.

Although no evidence exists that animals play a significant role in spreading the virus to people, it appears that it can spread from people to animals, especially during close contact, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

An outbreak of COVID-19 occurred at mink farms in Denmark last fall, however, and fears that the strain involved could spread to humans led to millions of the animals being euthanized.

To date, "we have no sense of how common [human-to-animal spread] is," veterinary medicine specialist Shelley C. Rankin, who was not part of the cat study, told UPI in an email.

"We do know that animals in contact with infected humans are at risk and that the virus can be transmitted to them and in some cases can cause infection and clinical signs," said Rankin, a professor of microbiology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in Philadelphia.

For their research, Hosie and her colleagues analyzed samples collected from the 4-month-old female domestic cat, as well as those from 387 felines living in homes with people with confirmed COVID-19.

The second infected cat, the 6-year-old, was found in this latter group, the researchers said.

The 4-month-old cat first developed respiratory symptoms, including a cough and shortness of breath on April 11, 2020, after a person in the home developed COVID-19-like illness at the end of March.

The owners brought the cat to a veterinarian on April 15, 2020, at which point she was having difficulty breathing.

Because her condition worsened, with severe damage to the lungs, she was euthanized one week later, they said.

The 6-year-old cat, also a female, developed cold-like symptoms, including a cough and runny nose, as well as conjunctivitis, known as "pink eye," which causes redness and inflammation underneath the eyelid and in the "whites" of the eyes, according to the Mayo Clinic.

This older cat's symptoms resolved on their own, and a second cat living in the same home did not test positive for the virus, Hosie and her colleagues said.

"Human-to-cat transmission appears to occur rarely," Hosie told UPI.

"We tested over 350 respiratory samples from cats before we identified one that tested positive," she said.

Still, based on these findings, pet owners who experience symptoms of COVID-19 should take steps to avoid passing the virus to their companion animals, Hosie and Rankin said.

"If you have COVID-19, then you should minimize contact with your pets as much as possible," Rankin said.

However, "the number of documented cases don't suggest that a vaccine for companion animals is currently necessary [and] I don't think that will change any time soon," she said.

If you use well water, it’s a good idea to have your water tested. In addition, most municipal drinking water is contaminated with an assortment of toxic metals and chemicals, even organic chloride compounds.

Whole house filtration systems are a bad idea, because if you are away from home for several days or longer, the water in the pipes beyond the filter can grow numerous organisms and collect toxic metals. The best methods for obtaining drinking water are either a reverse osmosis system at the faucet head or to use distilled water.

Researchers from Harvard University have figured out that exercise clears out stomach acid that causes troubling heartburn symptoms, such as a burning sensation in your esophagus or chest, a bitter or acidic taste in your mouth, and pain that gets worse when you lie down.

When these symptoms are persistent and severe, they signal that you may have gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), which is linked to the development of esophageal cancer.

It's estimated that more than 60 million Americans contend with heartburn at least monthly, and 15 million Americans experience heartburn symptoms daily. If that's you, listen up.

The researchers identified five lifestyle habits that can control or knock out acid reflux. Daily moderate to vigorous exercise for at least 30 minutes is number one. But it's most effective when joined with drinking only two cups of coffee or tea daily, not smoking, maintaining a healthy weight, and avoiding heartburn-triggering foods such as peppers and tomatoes.

These steps can help you dodge possible side effects — including pneumonia, kidney disease, vitamin B12 deficiency, and bone fractures — caused by long-term use of medications called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).

In addition, by working out daily you'll acquire a more positive outlook and feel more empowered to take charge of your health.

There is no doubt that storm clouds are forming. How do you protect your money with the dollar being so seriously devalued? There is growing polarization and civil unrest. You get the picture.

Recently, in Texas, due to unusual winter storms, power was out for an extended period of time. People were without heat. Without water. And chillingly, they were minutes away from losing the grid for 3 months! If that happened, I shudder to think what mayhem would have ensued.

And those completely unprepared would not have been saved by the government or anyone else.
