Removing toxins from your body is a whole-life-style approach, Jimi.

Our goal is to help our patients reduce their exposure to toxins over time.

First and foremost, it’s important to be strategic in your food choices. You should also take supplements prescribed by your doctor, you may need to make some major (or minor) lifestyle adjustments, and it’s possible you’ll even need to alter your environment and relationships.

Detoxification is not an overnight process. We’ve compiled a list of food-related changes that you can make to begin your detox journey right now.

🚫 Completely eliminate:

  • ALL refined or processed foods and beverages including bread, pasta, pastries, tortillas, cookies, candies, soda, and juices made from concentrate.

  • Foods with ingredients that include cane sugar, honey, maple syrup, coconut sugar, corn syrup, or any other form of sugar (even if it’s organic).

💪 Eat plenty of:

  • Veggies! Your goal should be to get seven to ten servings per day (one serving size is a half-cup cooked or a cup raw).

  • Microgreens or sprouts. Sprouts from broccoli, sunflowers, and arugula have 10-20 times the nutritional value of the fully grown plant.

  • Healthy fats like olive, olive oils, seeds, coconuts, avocados, and raw nuts.

  • Grass-fed beef, organic, free-range poultry, and wild-caught seafood and shellfish.

  • Whole organic, free-range eggs.

Although we want all of our patients to start with eliminating toxins in their food, we also create an individual plan based on each person’s specific lab results. Exactly what foods, supplements, and lifestyle changes we suggest for you will depend on what toxins we find in your system.

You see, these lists are an excellent place to start, but they’re certainly “all-inclusive” and food-related changes are just one phase in our detox process.

Homemade Replacements for Household Cleaners

In the 1950s and 1960s, June Cleaver and Donna Reed ruled over fantasy homes in which there was virtually no dirt.

That relentlessly home-sweet-home fantasy shifted in the 1980s with "Roseanne," and more recently "Mom" and "Modern Family."

But still, you rarely see anyone on TV scrubbing floors, scouring tubs, or seriously de-greasing a stovetop (unless it's for laughs).
Nonetheless, chances are you've got plenty of high-powered cleaning supplies under your sink. Unfortunately, those products are often filled with noxious fumes and toxic chemicals that linger in your air longer than you can imagine.

How harmful are they? A study published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine found that frequent housecleaners — whether they do it for a living or for themselves — experience lung damage equivalent to a 20-year, pack-a-day cigarette habit.

Fortunately, alternatives do exist.

• Vinegar eradicates scum, grease, and grime. Spray on shower tiles; let sit for 30 minutes; rinse. You can wash linoleum and windows with a vinegar-water mixture.

• Salt is a natural abrasive. Use kosher salt and the juice of half a lemon on cutting boards to clean deeply.

• Baking soda is a proven virus killer that deodorizes and cuts through grime. Mix one-half cup of baking soda with one-quarter cup of vinegar to clean toilets and drains.

• Straight lemon juice knocks out mold and mildew.

• Grapefruit extract can be combined (20 drops) with two cups of water in a spray bottle to clean all your surfaces.

and a lot of the same supplements I’ve now been drawn to as I’ve been really diving deep into preventing and reversing infection lately.

(It seems we’re all not quite done with infection concerns…) :/

Always amazes me how particularly in the best / most studied plants and natural compounds, there's a bit of a gray area categorizing them…

They’re always effective on many different mechanisms of action and general purposes altogether!

Definitely read up on Lomatium if you’re not already familiar with it on that note!

I’ve heard about it for quite some time but only started using it for my family recently for some reason, and man, what a powerhouse!!

The whole family was fighting something....I ordered a couple bottles of lomatium and told everyone to take it every hour

and they knocked out whatever it was we were fighting the same day!!
