Today on The HighWire!
EPISODE 297: BLEEDING TRUTH
EPISODE 298: BRINGING THE HEAT
We are bringing some HighWire Heat today!

First, former Blackrock Portfolio Manager and Data Analyst, Edward Dowd joins us to tease new info from his book Cause Unknown: The Epidemic of Sudden Deaths in 2021 & 2022, and his findings on the increase in global excess deaths coinciding with the COVID vaccine rollout.

Then, Jefferey Jaxen breaks down the recent, historic roundtable forum held in Florida by Governor Ron DeSantis and Surgeon General, Dr. Joseph A. Ladapo. Three major announcements signal the state’s intent to fully disconnect from the whims of federal public health edicts. Further, other states intend to follow the DeSantis Formula, to take back their health sovereignty.

Also, are masks coming back for COVID….and flu…and RSV…and Strep A? The CDC is now recommending them for any respiratory virus. But, does the science support it? Meanwhile, the Twitter Files have revealed censorship surrounding perhaps the most important topic of our Nation’s COVID-19 Pandemic response…Lockdowns. You won’t believe what has been discovered!

Finally, we welcome ICAN Lead Attorney Aaron Siri, Esq., who joins Del to present to you the extensive list of legal actions and watchdog works ICAN has racked up during the COVID Pandemic, and a talk about future actions that will keep America’s Public Health Watchdog working hard for you.

It all happens TODAY, 11AM Pacific Time, 2pm Eastern, at The HighWire!

*-- 'Bad' cholesterol, high blood pressure combo may heighten risk of heart attack, stroke --*

A combination of 'bad' cholesterol and high blood pressure may increase a person's risk of heart attack or stroke, which are leading causes of death in the United States.

That's according to a long-term study, led by Wake Forest University researchers, of several thousand men and women in the United States.

Its findings were published Tuesday in the journal Circulation.

The researchers found people who have hypertension plus high levels of lipoprotein(a), a type of "bad" cholesterol, may face a 24% higher risk of developing cardiovascular disease and having a major event such as a first-time heart attack or stroke.

In the study, this meant having lipoprotein(a) greater than or equal to 50 milligrams per deciliter, the scientists said. Hypertension was defined as a blood pressure reading of 140/90 mmHg, or the use of blood pressure medication.

By contrast, heart disease risk was not higher among people with elevated levels of lipoprotein(a) but without hypertension, the scientists said.

"High blood pressure is a known cardiovascular disease risk factor, and lipoprotein(a) is a type of inherited 'bad' cholesterol that may also lead to cardiovascular disease," Dr. Rishi Rikhi, the study's lead author and a cardiovascular medicine fellow at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C., said in a news release.

Previous research has indicated that when a person has hypertension and lipid imbalance, or dyslipidemia, their heart disease risk substantially increases, the release said.

But information has been scarce on how much of an effect lipoprotein(a) may have on cardiovascular disease risk among people with high blood pressure.

Lipoproteins -- which are made up of protein and fat and carry cholesterol through the blood -- have three subtypes: low-density lipoprotein, or LDL; high-density lipoprotein, or HDL, and lipoprotein(a), or Lp(a).

Similar to LDL cholesterol, lipoprotein(a) cholesterol may deposit and build up in the walls of blood vessels, increasing a person's risk of a heart attack or stroke.

For the study, the researchers used health data from the U.S. Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis study that began in 2000. MESA is looking into subclinical cardiovascular disease that is discovered prior to clinical signs and symptoms.

At the time of their enrollment, the racially and ethnically diverse group of adults who were participating in MESA were free from heart disease.

The new study included 6,674 MESA participants who had their lipoprotein(a) levels and blood pressure assessed and who had data documenting a cardiovascular disease event such as heart attack or stroke.

Participants were placed into one of four groups: those with lipoprotein(a) levels less than 50 mg/dL and no hypertension; lipoprotein(a) levels greater than or equal to 50mg/dL and no hypertension; lipoprotein(a) levels less than 50mg/dL and hypertension; and lipoprotein(a) levels greater than or equal to 50mg/dL and hypertension.

The scientists then tracked cardiovascular events, including heart attack, cardiac arrest, stroke or death from coronary artery disease, over a follow-up period averaging 14 years. In all, 809 of the participants had such a heart disease event.

Among the two groups without high blood pressure, higher lipoprotein(a) levels did not mean an increased risk for heart attack or stroke, the researchers noted.

And less than 10% of the people in the groups without hypertension had cardiovascular disease events, well below percentages in the two groups with hypertension.

Both groups with hypertension also showed a statistically significant increase in their risk for heart disease events compared with people with low levels of the "bad" cholesterol and no hypertension.

"We found that the overwhelming amount of cardiovascular risk in this diverse population appears to be due to hypertension," Rikhi said in the release.

People with hypertension had even higher cardiovascular risk when their level of lipoprotein(a) was elevated.

"The fact that lipoprotein(a) appears to modify the relationship between hypertension and cardiovascular disease is interesting, and suggests important interactions or relationships for hypertension, lipoprotein(a) and cardiovascular disease, and more research is needed," he said.

Giving Up the Belief in Flu Shots
Truth tellers sound like raving lunatics

Influenza vaccines have been in use for more than 60 years. One of the earliest clinical trials of influenza vaccine efficacy was conducted in United States Army personnel in 1943. Approximately 11,000 unvaccinated young men received a flu shot that had one strain of both influenza type A and type B. The study's endpoint - the development of a febrile illness - showed that 7.1% of unvaccinated recruits developed a fever vs. only 2.2% of the vaccinated became sick.

Happy Saturday, Jimi!

As promised, my team and I put together a compilation of some of the most powerful moments from both the Kidney Health Docu-Class and Metabolic Syndrome Docu-Class — condensed into two amazing presentations for you to enjoy, and we're excited to share them with you this weekend.

Did you know that 10% of adult Americans have chronic kidney disease (CKD) ... and most don't even know it?

Diabetes and high blood pressure are the leading cause of kidney failure. In fact, every 24 hours, about 340 people begin dialysis for kidney failure.

Shocking, right?

What's even more shocking is that it's estimated that 40% of Americans have Metabolic Syndrome, but (like chronic kidney disease) most people don't even know they have it!

Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of conditions like high blood pressure, high blood sugar, excess body fat around the waist, high cholesterol, and high triglyceride levels, which all increase your risk of heart disease, cancer and type 2 diabetes.

Fortunately for us - these awful plights are all avoidable with the help of some simple lifestyle upgrades!

That's why I created the Kidney Health Docu-Class and the Metabolic Syndrome Docu-Class.

After listening to both of these programs, you’ll discover how proper lifestyle decisions can help you to avoid wasting thousands of dollars in unwanted (and ineffective) medical expenses... not to mention years of suffering!

Enjoy the "Best Of" presentations all weekend long!

To your health,

Hi Jimi, hope you're doing well.

Retinol is an extremely popular ingredient in anti-aging skin products today.

However, while it has 3 key benefits I showcase for you, it also has 3 potential RISKS you'll want to be aware of!

Furthermore, there's a natural alternative that has been long used in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine...

And research now shows this plant ingredient may be JUST AS EFFECTIVE as retinol for banishing the look of wrinkles, dull-looking skin, and loose-looking skin -- without the risks!

Petides to the Rescue!

Peptides are sequences of amino acids that are shorter than the amino acid sequences that form proteins, and certain peptides are rapidly becoming the darlings of cutting-edge functional medicine.
Peptides are being used in a wide variety of conditions to ...
  • heal leaky guts and damaged joints
  • regrow the thymus gland
  • restore normal immune function
  • calm down mast cells
  • reduce inflammation
  • overcome chronic infections
  • restore normal brain function in conditions like traumatic brain injury and dementia
  • revive mitochondria
  • reverse aspects of the aging process
  • and more
The right peptides really can be miracle workers when all else has failed.
If you have ever wanted to learn more about peptides, and this should be high on the list of anybody with health challenges to resolve or health optimization goals to reach, check out the interview with Dr. Kent Holtorf this weekend during the replay of the Better Brain Health Summit.
I just watched this interview, and learned a lot about a dozen key peptides.
To access the replay weekend, register here.
If you don't immediately receive a link from Dr. Talks to watch the replay, reply to whatever email they send you with something like "what about the replay link", and you will receive an automated email reply with the replay link.
By the way, I use peptides myself. In fact, last night I used two peptides that help increase growth hormone secretion and tend to improve sleep.
I always feel more rested on less sleep when I use these peptides. It's awesome.
And I plan to broaden my horizons to use some of the peptides described in Dr. Holtorf's interview.
>> Go here to register to watch this interview and others during the replay weekend.

Good day, Jimi!
As you age, your memory goes…. It’s only natural, right?

Except it’s NOT! Age-related changes in cognitive ability are not inevitable.

Memory loss, cognitive decline and brain disorders all disproportionately affect older people – but it’s not because they had it coming.

After more than 30 years of lab studies, some doctors are ready to propose comprehensive protocols to reverse cognitive decline…

FOLLOW IT

As the year draws to a close, I find it impossible not to look back on it and think about all that's happened, and all that hasn't. I reached a lot of important goals, like returning to live theatre performance, getting a good start on my wedding planning, and biggest of all, finally hitting the 5-year and officially cancer free mark! But with everything in life, the good also came with the not so good.

Life continues to have challenges. Friends have recurrences, the world continues to spiral, and there are many, many more goals that remain unaccomplished. No matter how many great things happen to us, our brains have this frustrating habit of focusing on and amplifying the bad, especially when the bad includes the biggest challenges we've faced yet.

But, if it's true that what we focus on grows (and we see it time again with negative feelings), then it means we can increase the good by focusing on it, just as we see with the bad. This year may well have had more negative for you than good, and you may be feeling like it's impossible to push your way through all the yuck to find the yay. That's okay. Leave it here, in 2022.

With the new year coming, I encourage you to set your desires and goals for 2023 and to focus wholeheartedly on them. If you received a new diagnosis or recurrence this year, set the goal for healing. Make 2023 all about learning about your health and really getting to know your body, figuring out what's contributing to an environment conducive to ill-health and starting to work on reversing those things. If you got through treatment and are moving into life after cancer, you might want to make 2023 all about discovering the new you and finding your path into your new life. And if you hit a milestone this year that's further out, maybe start thinking about the things you've learned, how you've changed so far, and where you want to go next.

Is there something that's been calling your name? Is there something you simply can't ignore anymore? Follow it. Make 2023 your year of doggedly pursuing whatever that is, be it the best health of your life or that dream that's never let you go. The more you focus on it, the more it will solidify, fill in, and reveal itself in your material world.

On the eve of a blank slate, start sketching the outline.

Happy Healing ❤️

Brilliant Blogs From Others:
"Winter Stress Relief" by Dr. V

One thing that we are learning more and more about is just how much stress affects our physical health, including lowering the function of our immune system. When our body goes into fight or flight mode, it starts to shut down systems that aren’t required for fighting or fleeing, which includes our immune system. Stress also affects things like sleep and our energy levels, which in turn affect our ability to engage in other supportive activities like exercising and making healthy meals.

Many people feel higher levels of stress in the winter while dealing with seasonal affective disorder, the chaos of the holidays and its extra financial strain, and more. And with a higher exposure to viruses at this time of year as well, there isn’t a better time to start including stress support in your routine or amping up what you’re already doing. Below is a blog article from Dr. V where she provides links to some of the science behind a number of great winter stress support tools and why they are effective (ignore the sales pitch at the bottom for her stress relief supplement bundle). As a bonus, many of these will support your immune health in ways beyond reducing stress too. I also wanted to include links to my own blog posts and videos on some of these tools as well. So, check them out and give some of them a try today!

Diet and Nutrition: Fav Healthy Holiday Treats Revisited!

Over the last couple weeks, I've been sharing some of my favourite healthy holiday treat recipes from the past. The first is my dairy-free, sugar-free pumpkin spice creamer. It’s super tasty in coffee or tea, and you could even add a little to a cup of straight warm non-dairy milk for an extra treat. Last year, my sister also suggested freezing it in ice cube trays for iced coffee!

The second is for my paleo vanilla peppermint holiday cupcakes. They are dairy, sugar, and grain free, minty, fluffy, and delicious! Nothing will completely replace the regular version of this tasty treat, but this recipe comes close!
Get the full recipes in the Facebook group at the links above, or, if you don't have Facebook, reply to this email requesting them and I would be happy to send them your way!

Detoxing: Mould

We are exposed to mould in our day to day lives in our houses, our workplaces, even the foods we eat. Mould is concerning because we breathe in its spores and they can then cause an inflammatory immune response, leading to chronic, systemic inflammation. As we know, cancer loves inflammation and inflamed environments, not to mention that if our immune system is distracted by mould it won’t have as many resources to devote to finding and killing cancer cells, so reducing our inflammation and supporting our immune system are musts in the context of cancer.

I wanted to look into this after someone in this group reminded me of it months back, but you know how life goes. And I also sometimes find it daunting to start investigating a whole new area of my healing when I already have so much on the go on that front. What helped kickstart me was a great video from Dr. Lori about mould and her tips for detoxing it from your body and supporting your immune system in dealing with it. In addition to her tips, I’m also going to discuss urine testing for mycotoxins with her at our next follow up, so this is definitely something your can discuss with your own healthcare team to get a handle on how you’re doing in this area before jumping into a heavy protocol.

The main bullet points of her video include:
  • Symptoms of mould and mycotoxins
  • Genetic variations for mould susceptibility
  • How to purify the air in your home
  • Which foods are high in mould
  • How to test for mould in your body
  • Benefits of glutathione and killing mould
  • Coffee enemas and mould detox
  • Top supplements for mould detox
  • And more!

I know it may not be your priority right now, with the Holidays and New Year's around the corner, you're probably focusing on other things.

But don't make this mistake...

If you put your head in the sand or stop checking your blood sugar for the next few weeks, bad things can happen.

Before you know it, you could end up gaining weight and losing control of your blood sugar. That's a slippery slope that often leads to disaster.

Instead, this is a great time to set a plan for the new year.

If you're ready to finally fix your blood sugar, lose weight, and improve your metabolic health (or even reverse type 2 diabetes) this year, I'd love to help!

I just relaunched my new Mastering Blood Sugar program, and it's jam-packed with benefits, including coaching with me.

Learn more about the New Mastering Blood Sugar program here.

Last Friday, I did a full webinar to discuss the details of the program and discuss why this is so important and is the best option available for correcting your blood sugar and metabolic health.
