Dr. David Brownstein, M.D., writes:

A study reported in the Journal of Sexual Medicine (Vol. 10, Issue 2, 2013) sought to quantify the cost burden imposed by testosterone deficiency in men.

After examining six national databases, scientists estimated that testosterone deficiency was affecting 13.4% of men between the ages of 45 and 74. They also estimated that testosterone deficiency is involved in the development of approximately 1.3 million new cases of cardiovascular diseases, 1.1 million new cases of diabetes, and more than 600,000 osteoporosis-related fractures in the first year it is present.

Over a 20-year period, the researchers estimated that testosterone deficiency would be responsible for up to $525 billion in healthcare expenditures in the United States.

Special: Men Shocked: Doctor Says Fix for Testosterone Problems Starts With Treating Thyroid

As this study points out, the cost of not treating testosterone deficiency is severe; increases in diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and osteoporosis are all related to testosterone deficiency.

The most frequent complaint of a man with low testosterone is fatigue. Other complaints include irritability, low libido, poor brain function, and weight gain. Testosterone deficiency has been linked to the development of many chronic illnesses including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and osteoporosis for over 70 years.

Every male patient who comes to my office gets a hormone workup. This includes measurements of testosterone, free testosterone, progesterone, and estrogens.

Balancing a man’s testosterone levels can literally change his life in a short period of time. Patients have described feeling like they wake from the dead after taking testosterone.

I recommend bioidentical, natural testosterone formulated by a compounding pharmacist.

Testosterone can be used topically or by injection. Larger men do better with injections.

Dr. David Brownstein, M.D., editor of the Natural Way to Health newsletter, is a board-certified family physician and one of the nation’s foremost practitioners of holistic medicine. In addition to his practice, Dr. Brownstein has lectured internationally to physicians and is the author of six very popular books.

Hi Jimi,
2020 is nearly over… and it’s a year we’ll be glad to be looking at from the rearview mirror.
But in order to have a happier, healthier 2021, it’s important to address something that (in the middle of all the chaos) was most likely overlooked this year:
Toxins.
Mercury is a dangerous “gut toxin” often present in tuna, rice, corn syrup... and even some supplements not being tested.
When you have toxins like mercury in your gut and blood... you can forget about strong immunity, metabolism and the body you want in 2021.
The scary part is, tuna is JUST ONE of many foods that have hidden heavy metals we expose in this brand new detox webclass [register here for FREE].
Many green vegetables (including organically grown!)... cruciferous veggies like broccoli and kale... even BABY FOOD.
It’s almost impossible to avoid these toxins, but we CAN get them out.
And if you want to kick off 2021 with faster metabolism... better sleep (which is critical to weight loss)... strong immunity... and more...
Join this detox webclass designed to help you boost immunity and reset your metabolism in 2021…
You’ll learn about the sneakiest sources of toxins that almost nobody talks about...
... how they make their way into our gut... and why this cripples our immunity, hormones, metabolism, and more.
Of course, it’s not all doom and gloom.
Because you’ll also get actionable tips you can use to detox right away—plus a long-term plan that helps you remove toxins on a cellular level.
Removing cellular toxicity is THE fastest way to get slimmer... have more energy... a clear brain... reverse aging... and so much more.
Don’t let these sneaky rogue toxins wreak havoc on your body's microbiome (gut)... fat-burning hormones... and immunity.
Join us for this exclusive, free webclass where we’ll break it all down for you:
===> Hidden gut toxins in our food, air, water—and how to detox your cells to boost immunity, metabolism, reverse aging and more [register here]
We can’t wait to see you in the class!
To your Health,
The Answer to Cancer
P.S.—You’ll be shocked when you learn how many of these toxic metals and pollutants are hidden EVEN IN OUR HOMES.
Because 70% of your immunity is in your gut—and if your gut is toxic, no amount of outside nutrients is going to fix it.

Hi Jimi,
Sadly, the number of people facing food insecurity and persistent hunger has risen dramatically since the start of 2020. It’s a shame, but it’s true: More and more people are unsure where their next meal will come from.
In the face of this emerging crisis, a global network of food banks are stepping up to help. Right now they’re feeding more than 50 million people in the United States alone. And some of them are working diligently to provide healthy food, too.
I hope you’ll join me in giving thanks to all the people who work tirelessly to keep hungry people fed. Most of them don’t get paid a lot. Many are volunteers. And they are literally saving lives, every single day.
Find out what you need to know about food banks - including how they work, and how you can utilize or support their services, here.
Yours for healthy food for all,
Ocean Robbins
P.S. If you, or anyone you love, is facing food insecurity, then knowing what food bank and food pantry resources are available in your area can provide an important safety net. If you have a little extra and want to support getting healthy food to people who are in need, then now is a great time to step up. Find out more about how food banks work, and about efforts to provide healthy food to the people who need it most, here.

Calcium Supplements Pose Heart Disease Risk

By Chauncey Crandall, M.D.

A recent study published in the journal Heart confirmed that calcium supplements, targeted particularly at middle-aged women as a necessity to prevent osteoporosis, actually do little in that regard and cause more harm in the form of an increased risk of heart disease.

But it seems that no one is getting the message. A study published in JAMA Internal Medicine noted that calcium continues to be one of the most popular supplements, even while more research points to its harmful effects.

Special: Dr. Brownstein Warns: Your Eyes Are Under Assault From This 'Blue' Threat

This study found that 49% of respondents had used calcium supplements in the past 30 days, although very few did so on the advice of their doctor.

Ditch the supplements and build strong bones by undertaking an exercise program of strength-training three times a week and eating calcium-rich dark green vegetables.

I know many states are locked down, and most people aren't traveling, but even so, if you aren't able to spend time with family in person, I encourage you to hop on zoom or facetime or skype and spend some quality time together with family members this holiday.

Isolation is known to lead to depression, and depression is a precusor to chronic disease.

So let's stay connected this holiday season, even if it has to be online.

Online is not ideal, but it's better than not connecting at all, right?

And being genuine in our connection is the key - sharing our challenges, listening to others, comforting one another, pausing to hear and feel, and most important of all lift each other up.

I truly wish you genuine connection, health and healing this X-Mas!

And, for some powerful inspiration, watch this excerpt of a Q&A session I just conducted with Dr. Leigh Connealy, MD...

...Dr. Connealy shares her approach to treating cancer patients, many of whom have amazing results reducing and reversing cancer.

Merry Christmas!

Unfortunately, many of you are already suffering from “Adrenal Fatigue”, which is chronic fatigue issues from adrenal glands that are acting aberrantly and either is overproducing cortisol, producing it at the wrong times, or barely keeping up with the bodies’ requirements. What a year! Already we’ve been overwhelmed by all of the Covid worries and restrictions…. All we need are the additional stressors and expectations from the holidays along with the vast assortment of sugar treats and we can end up crashing!!
What many of you don’t realize is that “Adrenal Fatigue” is actually coming from a brain that has been overwhelmed and mitochondria that are under-functioning. The brain’s amygdala and limbic system, receiving input from all parts of the body as well as the external environment, gets stuck in the “on” mode keeping the body in fight or flight, sending dysfunctional signals to the adrenal glands. At first, the adrenal glands pour out cortisol to keep up with the adrenaline being dumped, however over time when precursors such as DHEA, progesterone, and pregnenolone get used up, the level of cortisol being made starts to decrease.
Cortisol is needed as an anti-inflammatory, to regulate blood sugar, and to promote healing and manage pain. If its production is dysregulated it can affect insulin and all sex and thyroid hormones, perpetuating inflammation, causing weight gain, disrupting menstrual cycles and libido, triggering depression, and exacerbating fatigue.
Some factors behind adrenal dysfunction include:
  • Sleep disturbances.
  • Blood sugar dysregulation
  • Chronic stressors
  • Pain
  • Inflammation
  • Infections
  • Toxins
  • Gut Health
Here are 10 simple tips you can follow during the holidays to keep your adrenals strong!
Always have Hope for Healing Health and Home

Here we go:

1. First and foremost, try to get your blood levels of vitamin D at least between 50-80 ng/ml. Most of the severe cases and deaths are people with blood vitamin D levels in the teens and 20s. Once you're over 60 or 70 ng/ml, there are very few severe cases, and almost no deaths at all. Sun exposure is the best source of vitamin D, but unless you're in the southern states like SoCal, AZ, TX, FL, Hawaii, etc this winter, you won't get enough vitamin D from sun exposure alone. Once you get north of about 35 degrees N latitude, the sun's rays are too weak from Nov thru Feb to produce any real vitamin D in your skin.

Supplement with at least 5000 IU of vitamin D3 all winter long as a general way to keep immune strength high this winter, but consider doing at least 10,000 to 30,000 IU a day at first signs of a Covid infection. Do NOT take more than 10,000 IU per day for LONG periods of time if you do not know your blood levels. You don't want to go over 100 ng/ml as you can start to reach a level that becomes more toxic above those levels. But 50 to 80 ng/ml blood levels appears to be the sweet spot in my opinion to maximize immune strength and proper functioning. Remember to always take vitamin K2 in combination with vitamin D3 to prevent calcification problems in soft tissues, and always take these 2 nutrients with fat-containing meals, not on an empty stomach.

Here's a more detailed article about vitamin D status and your immune system if you want to read more about this topic.

Hi Jimi,
Merry CHRISTmas Eve! :)
Tis the season to be healthy, right?
Many of the symptoms that bring women to Marcelle Pick, OB/GYN NP are common signs of hormonal imbalance: fatigue, low energy, weight gain, foggy thinking, hot flashes and irritability, among others.
She has created a wonderfully effective system to not only treat her patients, but also to help her online readers through eBooks like the "Comprehensive Guide to Hormonal Balance."
Discover how thousands of women have overcome the same issues that you are facing with healing foods, self-care and targeted supplementation...

There are many just as concerning but less well known symptoms too: hair loss, digestion difficulties, even heart palpitations.
All too often, women assume (or even told by trusted medical professionals) that their hormonal symptoms are a natural part of being a woman and there’s nothing to be done about them. However, balance is absolutely possible — and totally in your personal control!
Marcelle's eBook is filled with information based on a nurse practitioner’s three decades of successfully helping women to rebalance their hormones and take their lives back. You’ll discover how thousands of women have empowered themselves to overcome hormonal imbalance with targeted strategies and supportive lifestyle changes.
--> Download "Comprehensive Guide to Hormonal Balance HERE".
As always, praying that you experience the Abundant Life.

I've got a really neat class I'm hosting on Wednesday January 6th at 7pm ET / 4pm PT on the five biggest mistakes people commonly make that cause flares, frustration + prolonged discomfort.

Once they get so frustrated, they'll end up being in a pretty bad spot with their skin realizing that they need help (because they aren't getting anywhere).

My goal with this class is to help you to avoid these pitfalls so that you don't end up really desperate with your skin + lose more time to enjoy life.

So if you're still trying to figure out what's going on with your skin + managing flares... and trying to figure out root causes (and what to do next about them)...

This would be a great opportunity to join me for this webinar!

Hey Jimi,

No matter what you are celebrating right now, I wanted to give you a permission slip.

This permission slip can be used anytime.

It says: [insert name] can enjoy the holidays. Life is for living. So live it to the fullest.

Sometimes we get so concerned about controlling cancer that we forget to enjoy that Christmas cookie or special side dish.

But life is for living! Otherwise, what are we fighting for? More punishment?

You don’t have to go totally off the rails. But maybe allow yourself to enjoy something you miss. You can always start the new year with another 5 day fast and reset.

But for now, I hope you are enjoying the scents of the holidays, the sweetness of loved ones, and the joy of fully being alive.

Lots of love to you and yours,
