Dr. Oz: Nightcaps Can Rob You of Sleep
“O gentle sleep . . . how have I frightened thee that thou no more will weigh my eyelids down?” Shakespeare’s 17th-century lament on lost sleep (quick quiz: Where’s that quote from, “Macbeth” or “Henry IV?”) surely hits home to the 33% of folks today who experience mild to severe problems falling or staying asleep.

If you’re consistently sleep-deprived (less than 7 to 8 hours nightly), you’re a candidate for memory problems, obesity, Type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and depression.

Special: The Simple Secret to Really Good Sleep

And no matter what causes insomnia — stress, anxiety, or chronic pain, for example — there’s a good chance that you’ve tried to beat it with a nightcap. About 20% of American adults do. And it can work — sort of.

But researchers have discovered that it’s a very short-term solution. Alcohol artificially knocks you out and messes up your body’s mechanism that controls wakefulness and sleepiness.

While a drink or two decreases the time it takes to fall asleep and increases your non-REM sleep patterns during the first half of the night, it creates chaos during the second half, popping you awake and disrupting your sleep cycle.

For healthy sleep, get daily exercise (but not within three hours of bedtime).

Take an Epsom salt bath, then eat a banana; the magnesium and potassium relax muscles, and hot water chases away stress hormones.

And make sure the bedroom is for two things only: sex and sleep. If that doesn’t work, you can find a trained sleep therapist at behavioralsleep.org.

Many of you know my story about dealing with the autoimmune disease, Epstein Barr, and how I healed it without using meds! I had a phenomenal integrative health doctor, Dr. Jason West, who used different therapies that gave me my life back!

However, last year, I found out WHY I got Epstein Barr!

I put in breast implants 9 years ago after having my children. I wanted to look better! However, after having a mammogram last year, they found a mass. My doctor recommended that i have an MRI. This is when we found out that both of my implants burst and were leaking silicone throughout my body! I was so sick! Sicker than I was when I was treated for Epstein Barr!

I couldn’t believe it! I went to UCLA medical center in LA and met with numerous doctors, who finally diagnosed me with BII. Breast implant Illness! There are now hundreds of thousands of women who have gotten sick with various autoimmune diseases after they had silicone breast implants and they didn’t even know it!

There is a lot of research and studies about BII that you can research on the internet.

Now, I’m not saying that if you have breast implants that you have BII! But if you’re not feeling well, have your doctor check your implants. There could be a correlation.

Anyway, I talk about my personal experiences in my interview and also how our “toxic” emotions can get us sick.

Ignoring EMFs​
If I asked you, "What are you doing to minimize your exposure to pesticides? GMOs?"
You would say, "I eat organic, non-GMO foods!"
Great!
But we don't think about EMF exposure in the same way.
Though we should.
EMFs have a damaging effect on your cells just like any other toxin (chemical, biological...)
In our modern world we are bombarded with dangerous EMF radiation.
What steps are you taking to minimize your exposure?
EMFs at Work​
Where do you spend the most amount of time during the day?
At your desk? Around your office?
Do you know the amount of EMFs you're exposed to at work?
WiFi, laptop, cell phone...
Though you can do little to mediate the EMF coming from outside (cell phone towers, smart meters, power lines...) you do have control inside.
Create a safer environment, minimize the threat to your health!

Top 4 Steps to Take
Move your WiFi​
Move your WiFi Router or Extender (if you have one) further away from your desk -- try for 20-30 feet at a minimum.​
Choose Corded!​
If you use a landline, opt for a corded phone instead of a cordless one.​
Minimize Cell Phone Use​
Turn off Bluetooth and WiFi on your phone -- use it only when needed.​
Harmonize​
Use a Harmonizer device to minimize the harmful effects of EMFs. (see below↓)​
Are You Sensitive?​
First off, I have a big problem with the focus on "sensitivity" to EMF Radiation.
Are you sensitive to pesticides? Do you break out in hives when you eat a non-organic apple?
Probably not.
But is it still toxic and harmful? Yes!
So while we can sometimes feel the negative effects from EMFs, when we don't feel the effects we should not think "Oh great, EMFs don't harm me!"
They are doing damage whether we notice it or not.
That being said, here are some of the most common symptoms to EMF exposure...for those that notice it.

They say adversities make us stronger. But what if you don't really feel strong after going through hard times?

If you've been through a lot in your life, don't beat yourself up for not feeling "stronger" for it. We all cope with tough times differently. Some people need more time to recover from traumatic events than others.
