All my life I've heard about apricot kernels (the edible piece inside of the seed) as a preventive/cure for cancer, but it's a taboo subject in mainstream medicine. That's very telling. Anyway, saw this vid and started thinking about it again. I got one open and tasted it one time. Kind of like an almond, but even more tasty, though some people think apricot kernels taste very bitter. You can get organic ones, already shelled, many places.

The cyanide threat is a debunked bogey. In its natural unprocessed state (vitamin B17) it is considered harmless. Some batches of Amaretto are made from these apricot kernels, though some are made from almonds. I guess it depends on what the maker can get. The Wikipedia says the original home brew in the 16th century was to steep the apricot kernels in brandy, so I ordered some to try that. Like many things from Mexico, Presidente brandy is very high quality with a low pricetag, but my bottle is nearly empty so have to get more of that right away for this experiment.

I honestly think the bitter one aren't that bad, wife hates the bitter ones.
Yes you are so right, a person would have to eat a lot of them for it to have any effect at all, like bags of them. The therapeutic dose is 3 kernels for every 10 pounds of body weight. The B17 is good for your body.

New Method for Diagnosing Concussions

In 2011, Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy suffered a helmet-to-helmet hit from Steelers linebacker James Harrison. After sitting out two plays, McCoy jogged back onto the field and threw an end-zone interception that pretty much ended the game in the Steelers’ favor.

McCoy doesn't remember any of it because he was suffering from a concussion.

One important study of nine high school sports found that almost 9 percent of injuries were concussions. Another study says high school athletes sustain around 300,000 concussions annually.

A Return to Play law for school and intramural sports programs is in force in all 50 states. If your son or daughter is playing a contact sport, make sure his or her sports program follows the protocol for “removal and clearance for return to play.”

And advocate the use of improved screening technology. There's a virtual-reality eye-tracking platform cleared by the Food and Drug Administration that provides objective measurements in 60 seconds to aid in the assessment of concussion.

I didn't know some were bitter and some sweet. The one I cracked out myself and tasted many years ago, was from a grocery store apricot. I distinctly remember it was delicious. The ones I ordered say "bitter apricot kernels" (organic, raw, unpasteurized, from Turkey). If I didn't know to watch out for product of China I might have gotten the ones that are a few dollars cheaper.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the experiment, making some of them into Amaretto, and just tasting them out of the package. We can use all the help we can get in this toxic world.

Yes as popular as cancer is getting and the numbers climb every month, eating even a dozen a day improves your chances that you will NOT get cancer. It's a cruel disease :(

Your odds of surviving a cardiac arrest long enough to be admitted to the hospital are lower on the weekend than on a weekday. For one study, researchers analyzed data from nearly 3,000 patients worldwide who suffered an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest and were treated with a publicly accessible automated external defibrillator (AED). Overall, 27% of patients survived to hospital admission, a rate that matches previous studies.

But those whose cardiac arrest occurred between 12 a.m. Saturday and 11:59 p.m. Sunday were about 20% less likely to survive to hospital admission than those who were stricken between Monday and Friday. The odds were also lower for older patients and those whose cardiac arrest occurred at home, the findings showed.
