New Study Adds to Evidence That Glyphosate Weed Killer Can Cause Cancer​

Carey Gillam reports for The New Lede:

“A new long-term animal study of the widely used weed killer glyphosate find fresh evidence that the herbicide, introduced by Monsanto in the 1970s, causes multiple types of cancer, and may do so at doses considered safe by regulators.

The results of the two-year study, which were published June 10 in the journal Environmental Health, add to an ongoing global debate over the safety of the pesticide, which is commonly used by farmers to kill weeds in fields and pastures. The chemical is also used widely to manage weeds on golf courses, in parks and playgrounds, and in forestry management.

‘Our study provides solid and independent scientific evidence of the carcinogenicity of glyphosate and glyphosate-based herbicides,’ said Daniele Mandrioli, director of the Cesare Maltoni Cancer Research Center of the Ramazzini Institute in Italy. Mandrioli is the principal investigator for the study.”

“Breathing is something we do more or less without thinking but it may reveal more about ourselves than we might think – from our body mass index (BMI) to our propensity to develop anxiety.

Scientists writing in Current Biology have compared our highly unique breathing patterns to “fingerprints,” finding that researchers identified participants from their breaths with almost 100 percent accuracy – or 96.8 percent, to be precise.

Not only that, but subtle differences may provide intriguing insights into an individual’s health status, not to mention their mood, cognition, and behavioral tendencies.

Using data collected from 97 of the original 100 participants, the study’s authors identified different individuals by breathing patterns alone, reporting levels of accuracy that were on par (or even higher) than those achieved from voice recognition.”

Bayer (Monsanto) Profits From War & Genocide​

Lauren Filla & Seraph Kunkel report for Common Dreams:

“A new ICL facility would further establish St. Louis as a hub of militarization and an exporter of global death and destruction.

Monsanto is responsible for white phosphorus production in a supply chain trifecta with ICL and Pine Bluffs Arsenal. White phosphorus is a horrific incendiary weapon that heats up to 1,400°F, and international law bans its use against civilians. From 2020 to 2023, the U.S. Department of Defense ordered and paid ICL for over 180,000 lbs of white phosphorus, shipped from their South City Carondelet location to Pine Bluff Arsenal in Arkansas. White phosphorus artillery shells with Pine Bluff Arsenal codes were identified in Lebanon and Gaza after the Israel Defense Forces unlawfully used them over residential homes and refugee camps, according to Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International.

ICL is receiving $197 million from the federal government. The city is forgiving a $500,000 loan to troubled investors Green Street to sell the land to ICL and is proposing a 90% tax abatement in personal property taxes for ICL, plus 15 years of real estate tax abatements. This is a troubling regional trend, considering that in 2023, St. Louis County approved $155 million in tax breaks to expand Boeing, also giving them a 50% cut in real estate and personal property taxes over 10 years.”

I just watched this week's "The Highwire" with Del Bigtree. His rant, begging for support of ICAN toward a lawsuit to be brought against HHS over the ravage of glyphosate was pretty funny. He said "yes, we have Bobby (Kennedy) in there, and he knows it will take a lawsuit to address the power of herbicide makers, so he'll want that lawsuit. The target will never be softer than it is right now".

Why do we choose organic foods?

Trying to eat organic as much as possible for our own health and well being, for the health and outcome of our pregnancies, for the clean flow of our breast milk, for the health of our families, is too narrow a focus, and it's surprising to me how often I have to extend the conversation in this direction.

The Rio Grande Valley of Texas is a bread basket. I remember reading in the 1990's how children there were being born missing large parts of their brains. I cried for hours. I knew what it was, but government and environmental authorities will do every kind of tap dancing to avoid admitting it is chemical inputs to the agricultural fields of this land. The births with anencephaly are still occurring. The blame is placed on factory chemical waste runoff.

So even though avocados that are not organically grown are considered "safe" due to the thick skins you peel off, I don't want agricultural workers exposed to pesticides, with the risks of cancer, infertility, birth defects in their children. I don't want the pesticides, herbicides and synthetic chemical fertilizers in our air, soil and water. That contaminated water flows into the oceans, creating "dead zones" where marine life cannot survive. I don't care if I die from eating pesticide soaked tomatoes, but I want the children of the Rio Grande Valley to have normal, happy lives, with normal brains, good health and carefree happiness.

I started to learn organic gardening from my mum's backyard garden, and I inherited her organic gardening books, the dearest tomes in my library. It was delightfully surprising to find out how well and easily it works, composting, companion planting, respect for pollinators and the friendly insects that eat the destructive insects. I hope anybody who decides to grow food, flowers or just landscape shrubbery and trees, will try organic gardening.

Inflammation and Prostate Cancer



Think of inflammation as a wildfire. When it gets out of control, it can spread, grow, and consume everything around it. In your body, inflammation acts like fuel for your prostate cancer cells, making them grow and spread faster. Research shows that this activity relies on the presence of inflammatory markers that include Nuclear Factor Kappa B (NF-Kappa B), cyclooxygenase (COX), and Interleukins (IL-6). An inflammatory microenvironment promotes prostate cancer progression and creates a continuous loop that stimulates a more aggressive stage. Interfering with the production of these inflammatory chemicals makes prostate cancer cells vulnerable and may reduce the formation and progression of cancer cells. Numerous potent botanicals are known to lower NF-Kappa B, COX, and IL-6 inflammatory and cancer-promoting chemicals in the body: Curcumin, Boswellia, Andrographis, and Magnolia bark. Omega-3 fatty acids, like in fish oils, also lower inflammation by inhibiting COX.

What is your immune system, and how does it work against prostate cancer?



When fighting prostate cancer, your body's first defense is your immune system. The part of your body's defenses involved in detecting and attacking cancer cells are natural killer (NK) cells. In one study, men with a low NK activity value had a five-times higher chance of prostate cancer diagnosis to biopsy. Regular exercise, stress management, and good sleep positively impact your immune system. How Does Iodine Inhibit Cancer?

Dr. David Brownstein, M.D., writes:


Iodine in the thyroid gland and the breasts has been shown to produce lipids called iodolactones, which regulate cell cycles. Cancer cells, on the other hand, have no regulation; they keep dividing and dividing until the body is overwhelmed.

Researchers have shown that diseased breasts take up more iodine than normal breast tissue. This lends support to the idea that diseased breast tissue is iodine-deficient. Similar results have been found in the thyroid gland. And many of these studies date back more than 50 years.

Other cancers that could be inhibited by iodine include:

• Colon

• Lung

• Melanoma

• Pancreatic

In addition, glioblastoma and neuroblastoma — two types of brain cancer — have been shown to benefit from iodine therapy.

Iodine is needed by every cell in the body. Deficiency, which is affecting more than 96% percent of Americans, may be responsible for the rapid rise in cancer that we have seen over the last 50 years, a period during which iodine levels have fallen dramatically.

Even with iodized salt, we don’t get enough iodine from our diet. That idea needs to be abandoned.

I think it’s valuable for everyone to supplement with iodine. My average dose for patients is approximately 25 mg per day. I prescribe more for those with diseases of the breast, thyroid, ovaries, uterus, prostate, or pancreas.

I suggest working with a holistic healthcare provider who understands the importance of iodine. A conventional doctor is unlikely to know much about it.

Years ago, I had this incredible spa experience in Hawaii that completely flipped my relationship with water on its head.

Lower calorie density means a greater volume of food contains fewer calories. How do starches and vegetables including leafy greens differ nutritionally? To illustrate, please consider the following table comparing selected nutrients found in 100 calories of potatoes vs. 100 calories of lettuce.

Below is the bar chart form of the table above that makes it especially easy to see the comparisons, where the lettuce nutrient values are 100%, and the potato nutrient values are shown as the % value they achieve compared to the lettuce values. We, on the other hand, are repeatedly asked why our diet is more fruit and vegetable-based instead of starch-based, so we thought we would take this opportunity to share with you some of the reasons why our approach is slightly different.



1. Nutrient Density: Fruits and vegetables tend to be more nutrient dense than starches. They contain important vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that are essential for supporting every facet of our health. From vitamin C in citrus fruits to the magnesium in leafy greens, these plant foods provide an unparalleled array of nutrients that nourish our bodies. Certain fruits and vegetables are stronger sources of antioxidants including flavonoids and polyphenols, vitamin C, certain B vitamins including folate, magnesium, and calcium than many starches.



2. Disease Prevention: Research consistently demonstrates that a diet rich in fruits and vegetables is associated with a reduced risk of certain chronic diseases. The higher levels of potent phytochemicals and antioxidants found in these colorful plant foods play a pivotal role in neutralizing free radicals, combating inflammation, and supporting overall health.

Many ancient cultures believed that the spiritual realm has a big impact on the physical world that we perceive with our senses. And today, empirical science is showing that this view of reality carries a number of benefits to our overall wellbeing.

One way to look at it is that “thoughts create chemicals” inside us. So the ways you think about your life, your relationships, and your world profoundly affect your mental health and – by extension – your physical health.

Many folks can attest to what a relief it can be to “get things off your chest.” But as ancient peoples understood, the healing power of story goes much further and deeper than that.

When you express, in words, the deepest feelings and stories of your life, something miraculous occurs. Speaking your truth soothes your nervous system, releasing hormones like oxytocin, dopamine, nitric oxide, and endorphins, which are agents of bodily repair and pleasant feelings!

Once your nervous system is relaxed, you can rest well, fight illness, and focus on living your best life. You can release relationship pressures, break unhealthy cycles, and clarify your purpose.

According to Dr. Suzanne Koven (a highly regarded internal medicine practitioner and published medical writer) of Harvard School of Medicine, stories are central to medicine.

There is even a new type of medical therapy called Narrative Medicine. The patient is encouraged to talk about his or her job, romantic relationships, family ties, and sense of purpose in life, and only then does the discussion come round to physical health.

This is how you get to the root of illness. “Aha!” moments arise from telling your stories and pathways to health and happiness come clearer into view.

Healing is not a clearcut linear process. But as you share your stories from the deepest places within you, and someone listens to you with intention and care, you can feel a fundamental shift in your body and spirit.

Begin by asking yourself these 5 questions:

  1. What is preventing me from being peaceful / happy in this moment? (If it’s something material, what feeling of relief would that thing bring me?)
  2. When is the last time I put myself outside my comfort zone? What was it, and what was my motivation for doing it?
  3. What is one difficult conversation that I’ve been putting off having with my spouse, best friend, or close family member (mother, father, sibling)?
  4. What is one difficult conversation that I’ve been putting off having with myself?
  5. Years from now, when I’m breathing my final breaths, what advice would this future me give the now me?
Knowing the truth of what is holding you back – right in this moment – is the first critical step on the healing path. It takes a little bit of bravery to go there, but it’s well worth it!
