Are You at Risk for Early Heart Problems?

By Chauncey Crandall, M.D.

Although heart disease risk begins to rise in middle age, if you have a family history of early heart disease, you may require earlier monitoring.

Several types of heart problems can run in families. One of the most common of these conditions is familial hypercholesterolemia. One in 200 people have a genetic mutation that prevents their body from clearing “bad” LDL cholesterol. Statin drugs can be a lifesaver for people with familial hypercholesterolemia.

If your family has a history of premature heart disease, you should also ask your doctor for an advanced lipid screening. This test can show whether you have inherited lipoprotein(a), a type of small, dense LDL cholesterol that can damage your coronary arteries, setting the stage for heart disease. Although there is no recognized treatment for people with lipoprotein(a), I’ve found that taking 500 mg to 2,500 mg of vitamin B3 (niacin) can alter the harmful particles to fluffier cholesterol particles less likely to damage arteries. But you need to get the proper test to ascertain your risk.

Special: 4 Signs Your Heart Is Quietly Failing...

Sudden cardiac arrest, in which the heart unexpectedly stops beating, can also be caused by a genetic condition. If your family has a history of sudden death, discuss genetic testing with your doctor. In addition, congestive heart failure and atrial fibrillation can run in families.

A woman’s health during pregnancy can also be a tip-off. If a woman developed high blood pressure or diabetes during pregnancy (gestational diabetes), her doctor may want to monitor her heart health earlier than usual.

Dear IRT Community,
We are pleased to share that Children's Health Defense has published an excellent review of Jeffrey Smith's latest peer-reviewed research report on genetically modified microorganisms and the concerning regulatory gaps surrounding their development.
This report, which Jeffrey co-authored with other leading experts in the field, examines how these microscopic organisms are being created and released with minimal safety testing or regulatory oversight. Our research documents the potential for these genetically engineered microbes to spread through environmental systems in ways that are difficult to predict or control.
The Children's Health Defense article does an excellent job summarizing our key findings, including the regulatory gaps that echo the same patterns we've documented throughout the biotech industry – insufficient testing, rushed approvals, and inadequate long-term safety studies.
Our peer-reviewed research raises important questions that need broader public discussion. We encourage you to read this accessible summary of our work and share it with others who care about responsible biotechnology.

I have an amazing update for you on our campaign to get artificial dyes out of our food.

A major nationwide retailer just announced they’re clearing the dyes out of the ENTIRE cereal aisle in their stores.

Target will stop selling ANY cereal with artificial dyes by the end of May.

This means that all cereals made by Kellogg's, General Mills, and Quaker will need to get the dyes out very quickly if they want to be on the shelves at Target.

Bye-bye artificially-dyed Froot Loops!

These companies have already said they plan to remove artificial dyes, but this is putting pressure on them to move faster on their commitments.

And it puts Post (Fruity Pebbles) on notice as one of the only cereal brands without a public plan to go dye-free.

Change is happening, and it wouldn’t happen without you and the entire Food Babe Army bringing this issue to the mainstream attention.

This is what happens when thousands of us come together and demand that these companies stop poisoning us and our children.

And this is why I’m so excited to be in California this week to meet with fellow food activists, change-makers, and organic food companies who are proving you don’t need toxic additives to make delicious products.

Ultra-Processed Foods: What They Are and Why They Matter

We throw around the word “processed” like it’s automatically a bad thing. But processing itself is not the enemy.
If you slice an apple at home, that’s processing. If you cook rice, freeze vegetables, ferment yogurt, grind wheat into flour, or press olives into oil, that’s processing. Humans have been processing food for thousands of years. In many ways, it made food safer, more digestible, and more stable.
So the issue is not processed food.
The issue is ultra-processed food.

What Counts as Processed?

Basic processing includes things like:
  • Washing and chopping vegetables
  • Freezing fruit
  • Canning beans
  • Grinding nuts into nut butter
  • Fermenting foods like yogurt or sauerkraut
These methods alter food, yes. But they don’t fundamentally change its structure beyond recognition. The food is still food.

What Makes Something Ultra-Processed?

Ultra-processed foods, often defined using the NOVA classification system, are industrial formulations made mostly or entirely from substances extracted from foods, modified in labs, and combined with additives designed to enhance flavor, texture, and shelf life.

Hey Jimi,

Were you able to catch the fascinating first episode of Beyond Diagnosis?

I gotta say, it was pretty cool to hear Vala’s story about her serious Staph infection. And instead of taking antibiotics, she healed herself with some pretty unusual, but time-tested therapies.

She felt so vibrant afterward that she continued both therapies for years to improve her health like never before.

Dr. Andre Kalker also mentioned a recent study on the healing potential of Chlorine Dioxide Solution (CDS) in small cancer lung cells.

And Dr. M. Nathaniel Mead revealed why increasing Omega-3s is an absolute must to reduce the inflammation that fuels tumor growth.

If you want to learn about some unique and proven therapies, make sure you watch the 9-part series, Beyond the Diagnosis.

When you watch this groundbreaking docuseries, you'll discover:

* Why a diagnosis may be the starting point of your health journey, not the final answer

* The hidden patterns some experts look for when symptoms don’t fully resolve

* Why two people with the same diagnosis can have very different root causes

* The emerging science around inflammation, toxins, and metabolic health

* And so much more

This series exposes what mainstream medicine won't tell you and shares the proven paths to genuine healing.

Watch now to uncover true healing by addressing the root cause of disease.

Wishing you abundant health,

Jason Prall

P.S. You’ll hear from over 50+ of the world’s top medical doctors and natural health experts who share the uncensored truth about highly effective ways to reverse disease with natural medicine protocols.

Beyond the Diagnosis will feature breakthrough after breakthrough.

Most doctors never share this vital information with their patients.

They simply don’t know how to treat the body as one interconnected living organism.

But these world-class holistic experts hold nothing back.

Hey there,

Why Your Friends Might Literally Help You Age More Slowly
We all know deep down that friendships matter. They make life richer, funnier, and more meaningful. But what if your social circle, your lifelong or more recent connections, do more than just make you feel good? What if they actually help your body age more slowly? That’s exactly what new research suggests. And no, it’s not just poetic, it’s biological.
Here’s the big idea: Friendships and aging are connected.
Scientists at Cornell University looked at something called epigenetic aging, a fancy way of measuring how fast your body is getting older at the cellular level. Unlike your birthday, which ticks up by one every year, biological age tells a story about how your body is functioning, based on DNA changes and inflammation markers.
Here’s the surprise: people with strong, supportive social connections over their lifetime tend to be biologically younger than their age. They show signs of slower aging in their DNA and lower levels of chronic inflammation, which is a big deal because inflammation is linked to things like heart disease, diabetes, and cognitive decline. In other words: good relationships might keep your cells younger. And that’s not just hyperbole, it’s measurable.
So what did the researchers do? The team analyzed data from more than 2,100 adults across different decades of life as part of a long-running study called MIDUS. They weren’t just looking at how many friends someone has right now. They looked at lifelong social advantage with a blend of:
  • Warmth and support from parents in childhood.
  • Emotional support from friends and family.
  • Involvement in community or neighborhood life.
  • Participation in faith or other social groups.
The study wasn’t about popularity. It was about consistent, deep social support across years and decades.
But what is “Biological Age” anyway? Good question. Researchers used two cutting-edge tools called epigenetic clocks, GrimAge and DunedinPACE, to estimate biological aging based on patterns in your DNA. Think of these as health-based speedometers for aging. They tell you whether your body looks “older” or “younger” than your calendar age. And guess what? People with richer, sustained social networks consistently showed younger biological ages on both clocks. That suggests that social connections aren’t just mental or emotional boosts, they’re tied in with how your body physically ages.
You might also be asking if stress plays a role in aging, and how being social combats that. And so you should. The researchers found that stronger social support was tied to lower levels of systemic inflammation (measured by a molecule called interleukin-6), but not necessarily to short-term stress hormones like cortisol. In simple terms:
  • Long-term social support saw less chronic inflammation.
  • Short bursts of stress? Not as clearly affected.
So the benefit isn’t just that friends help you stay chill when traffic hits. It’s that deep social roots might protect your body from the slow, creeping inflammation that ages your cells over years.
Why does all of this matter? Well, we often talk about aging in terms of diet, exercise, sleep, and rightly so. But this research suggests that our social world is just as important for long-term health. It flips a common narrative on its head. Instead of seeing relationships as nice extras, this work frames them as something closer to health infrastructure, like vitamins or exercise routines, but woven into your everyday life. Here’s one way the lead researcher described it:
“Think of social connections like a retirement account. The earlier you start investing and the more consistently you contribute, the greater your returns… and those returns aren’t just emotional, they’re biological.”
Pretty cool, right?
So, what should you do with this learning right now? Well…
  • Build, and try to keep, real connections. Don’t just collect contacts. Focus on relationships that feel deep and mutual. People you talk with over months and years, not just likes on a screen.
  • Invest in community. This could be a neighborhood group, hobby club, volunteering, local faith community, a class you love… Anywhere you feel seen and supported.
  • Make emotional support a habit. That means sharing experiences, listening actively, checking in regularly on your nearest and dearest and not just when someone is in crisis.
  • Think long term. This isn’t about one great weekend with friends. It’s about a lifetime of connection, the kind that builds up over years.
  • Start small. If this feels big or overwhelming, start with something like a weekly coffee with a friend or a phone call to someone you care about or even try to find a new group or course you find interesting.
Longevity might just be waiting in your contact list.
We tend to think aging well is about what we do to our bodies. But this research suggests that aging well is also about who we do life with. The people we trust, laugh with, learn from, and lean on might literally slow how fast our cells age. So go hug a friend. Keep that dinner date. Rekindle that old connection. It might be one of the healthiest things you do this year.
Yours in good health,

Broccoli is often called a "nutritional powerhouse."

It is packed with Vitamins A, C, and E

The natural supplies your body needs to neutralize unbound radicals and fight inflammation.

But there is a "glitch" in how most people prepare this cruciferous jewel.

Studies show that specific enzymes, like sulforaphane,

are responsible for shielding your cells from inflammatory damage.

But if you prepare it the wrong way, those enzymes "leak" out before they ever reach your system.

Fortunately, a few simple shifts in your kitchen can unlock the full power of your food.

You can read about it in my blog, where you’ll learn:

why your cooking method determines if your broccoli stays a "powerhouse" or becomes empty fiber,

the 11 foods that act as biological armor,

and the specific nutrients that "scare away" seasonal sniffles.

See the "powerhouse" food list and how to prep them here

With love and care,

Hi Jimi,

Brace yourself because you may end up throwing out a lot of the food in your fridge after you finish reading today's email.

Maryland physician Dr. Brian Paris says many so-called "health foods" are actually the cause of sore, stiff joints that make you feel miserable.

"If you're in constant, chronic, excruciating agony and don't feel well, it has to do with what you're eating and just as important what you're not eating but should eat," says Dr. Paris.

Dr. Paris found certain foods marketed as being healthy actually contain a toxic nutrient your immune system sees as the enemy.

Every time you take a bite of one of these foods, your immune system unleashes its "army" to attack this nutrient.

Since this nutrient enters your bloodstream once it's digested, your immune system starts attacking even healthy tissue and organs, causing burning in your joints and muscles.

Dr. Paris explains that most of his patients assume their joint issues are a normal part of the aging process.

They have no idea that eating the wrong foods can cause joint problems.

The good news is this problem is EASY to fix.

"You don't have to completely change your diet. Just eliminating these 5 foods from your diet, including a certain kind of vegetable, will do wonders to your life," he says.

In his entire 20-year career as a doctor, Dr. Paris has found eliminating these 5 foods to be the most powerful drug-free defense against joint problems.

So far, he's helped thousands of people at his private clinic, including some very famous celebrities and NFL athletes.

Now, he's put his list of the 5 worst foods and every other trick he's learned in 20 years into a free video available to the public.

Hundreds of thousands of Americans are feeling much better after following the advice in this video, which is probably why it's going viral on Facebook.

You can watch it for free for the rest of the day.

Be sure to share with any friends or loved ones who might need to see this.

Big news: scientists may have just gotten one step closer to slowing the aging process.

In a major clinical trial, researchers tracked over 1,000 adults for five years to see whether one common vitamin could influence a key marker scientists use to measure biological aging.

What they found was that this vitamin could:

- Help protect the part of your DNA that determines how quickly your cells wear out

- Slow a key biological aging marker linked to heart disease, cancer, and other age-related conditions

- Support the tiny structures inside your cells that keep tissues healthy and functioning over time

- Reduce the kind of chronic inflammation scientists believe quietly accelerates aging

- And create a measurable difference in cellular aging after several years of daily use.

The best part? You may already have this vitamin in your medicine cabinet at home!

Urgent! Support Amendment 51 to Protect Our Health!

mail
We are calling on the House Agriculture Committee to support Amendment 51, which will strike Sections 10205, 10206, & 10207 to Protect Our Health! We urge you to contact your lawmakers to get this bill amended.

Bill Summary + Amendments:

FEDERAL BILL

US HR 7567 – Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026

US HR 7567 is the 2026 Farm Bill, reauthorizing and revising a wide range of USDA programs through fiscal year 2031, including commodity supports, crop insurance, conservation, trade, credit, research, forestry, energy, rural development, and nutrition programs like SNAP. It continues and tweaks existing structures rather than fundamentally shifting the system: it maintains heavy support for conventional commodity agriculture, modestly updates conservation and rural development tools, and makes mostly administrative SNAP changes (like EBT security and online purchasing), without reorienting federal food spending toward whole, minimally processed, organic, or regenerative foods.

STRIKE SECTIONS 10205, 10206, & 10207

Why This Matters to MAHA™

The MAHA Movement supports Amendment 51 to Protect Our Health! We support farms and farmers but do not support Sections 10205, 10206, & 10207 of HR 7567. These provisions, while continuing major agricultural programs, largely reinforce a system centered on ultra‑processed foods, pesticide‑intensive monocultures, and weaken control over what goes into our water and air! By failing to meaningfully shift subsidies and insurance toward organic, regenerative, and nutrient‑dense food production, these sections conflict with MAHA’s mission to transform agriculture and nutrition policy to reduce toxic exposures and rebuild public health from the soil up.

Exercise Is Better Than Antidepressants

Dr. David Brownstein, M.D., writes:

Antidepressant medications such as Prozac and Zoloft are prescribed far too often. The mechanism of action of this class of medications has not been fully explained.

When they first came to market, these drugs were touted as the cure for a chemical imbalance in the central nervous system. Research has disproved that claim.

Special: Dr. Crandall Saved His Own Heart With This

Antidepressants are associated with nutrient deficiencies such as CoQ10, magnesium, melatonin, and vitamins D, B6, and B12.

Studies have shown that daily exercise is equal or superior to antidepressants for those suffering from mild to moderate depression. Eating a healthy diet usually helps a patient suffering from depression.

Before going on an antidepressant medication, I suggest exercising daily, eating a healthy diet, and correcting hormonal and nutritional imbalances.

Americans take more prescription medications than any other people on the planet. Do we have better health from taking so many drugs? Absolutely not. We come in last or next to last in nearly every health indicator.

There is a time and a place for pharmaceuticals. However, there is also a time and place for educating yourself about a healthy, holistic lifestyle. Adopting such a lifestyle can minimize the chance of needing a pharmaceutical product that poisons enzymes and blocks receptors in the body, which nearly all drugs do. It’s best to work with a holistic physician who is trained in both pharmacology and natural therapies.

Lymphatics, Body Structure, & Nervous System Connection
Somewhere between the neurologist, the rheumatologist, and the immunologist, the whole picture gets lost. It is one of the most consistent things we hear from new patients arriving at Gordon Medical, a history of placing hope in the next referral, the next protocol, the next diagnosis, without ever finding a framework that accounts for the whole.

This is not just a gap in diagnosis; it reflects a fundamental limitation in how complex chronic illness has traditionally been investigated - one system at a time, in isolation, without accounting for the regulatory breakdown that occurs when multiple coordinated systems reach a state of imbalance together.

The nervous system, lymphatic system, and structural mechanics of the body are not independent variables. They are deeply interdependent systems that continuously regulate one another.

When functioning in concert, they support resilience, fluid homeostasis, and adaptive stress response.

When they fall out of synchrony, the result is a cascade of dysregulation that can perpetuate illness across every organ system and symptom domain.

Our latest article explores that interconnected model, the science behind it, the clinical patterns we observe, and why addressing all three systems together represents a more complete path toward recovery for patients who have not responded to conventional approaches.

Summit banner with Mingtong Gu and 8 other speakers
Greetings, Jimi
For those of you who like to know what's coming, and plan accordingly, this email is for you. Here is the complete five-day arc of Coming Home to Embodied Awakening.

These five days are not five separate events. They are one journey, carefully designed to move from the inside out, from your inner body to the collective field, from personal healing to planetary responsibility. Each pillar builds on the one before it. Together, they form a complete ceremonial arc.

🗓️ DAY 1 — MARCH 11: EMBODIED MIND–BODY–SPIRIT
"Coming Home to the Body"
Awakening begins here, not in the mind, but in the living intelligence of the body itself. Day 1 establishes the ground. Sensation as truth. Presence as the foundation.
Speakers: Jon Kabat-Zinn, Tara Brach, Lee Holden, Michael Stone.
Documentary: "From Fatigue to Radiance: A Meditation Teacher's Journey" - Debra Chamberlin Taylor, live.

🗓️ DAY 2 — MARCH 12: HEALING TRAUMA & EMBODIED RELATIONSHIP
"Coming Home to Safety & Belonging"
No healing is complete without safety. Day 2 goes into the places where pain is held, not to fix it, but to let it move. Trauma as frozen life returning to flow. Wounds becoming wisdom.
Speakers: Marci Shimoff, Fleet Maull, Alex Howard, Janet Attwood, Dawson Church.
Documentary: "United by Practice" - Otis & Jane, live.

🗓️ DAY 3 — MARCH 13: COMMUNITY & EMBODIED LEADERSHIP
"From Coherence to Service"
When the body is regulated, leadership changes. Not force or performance, presence. Service that arises from inner alignment rather than obligation. Healer and leader as one path.
Speakers: Jack Canfield, Chip Conley, Stephen Dinan, Ken Honda, John Assaraf, Debra Poneman.
Music: Lindsey Wise.

🗓️ DAY 4 — MARCH 14: EARTH TRADITIONS & PLANETARY MEDICINE
"Coming Home to the Earth"
To come home to the body is also to come home to the Earth. They are not separate. The human body as extension of the Earth body. Indigenous wisdom, shamanic lineage, energy medicine.
Speakers: Lynn Twist, Grandmother Flordemayo, Alberto Villoldo, Fred Puma, Ocean Robbins, Marie Diamond.
Documentary: "The Miracle of Qigong Healing: Tom's Journey" - Tom R., live. Music: Ilka De Cast.

🗓️ DAY 5 — MARCH 15: ANCIENT WISDOM & NEW SCIENCE
"The Ancient Future of Humanity"
Integration. The body as bridge between lineage and future. Science and ancient wisdom arrive at the same sentence.
Speakers: Bruce Lipton, Gregg Braden, Sue Morter, Niraj Naik, Suzanne Giesemann.
Documentary: "A Physician's Healing Journey from Autoimmune Disease" - Dr. Cynthia Li, live.
Music: Michael Franti.

Emotional Detox: A Science-Backed Approach
At Breast Cancer Conqueror, we teach that healing is not just about what you remove from your body.

It’s also about what you release from your emotional world.
Essential #4: Heal Your Emotional Wounds reminds us that emotions are energy in motion.

When they are suppressed or ignored, they don’t vanish. They can influence immune resilience, hormone balance, inflammation levels, and even how your genes express themselves.

This week’s blog explores Expressive Writing Therapy, a structured emotional processing method pioneered by psychologist James Pennebaker.

His research demonstrated that writing openly about traumatic experiences for just 15–20 minutes over 3–4 consecutive days can lead to measurable improvements in:

• Immune function
• Sleep quality
• Anxiety levels
• Cardiovascular health
• Cognitive clarity

Expressive writing is not casual journaling. It is a strategic, science-backed emotional detox that helps move the brain from reactivity to integration and regulation.

Inside the blog, you’ll find:

• The exact Pennebaker Protocol
• How trauma lives in fragments — and how writing organizes it
• Four guided prompts tailored for women navigating breast cancer
• A gentle reminder that your story is not something to suppress — it may be part of your healing

When your emotional world stabilizes, your biological terrain becomes far less hospitable to dis-ease.

Your body deserves that exhale.

Read the full blog and explore how your voice can become part of your healing journey.

2026 FARM BILL

One Big Bayer Protection Act

Companies like Bayer that peddle pesticides and genetically modified organisms (GMOs) would get two big gifts if the 2026 House Farm Bill passes:

1. A free pass to poison us with impunity. The bill guts the Environmental Protection Agency’s authority over pesticides (including GMO crops engineered to produce their own insecticides), while stripping the states and the courts of their powers to protect us.

2. Money for industrial agriculture stolen from regenerative programs. Environmental quality and conservation programs would be earmarked for “precision agriculture,” the same old trifecta of GMOs, pesticides, and synthetic fertilizers, only with Big Tech’s artificial intelligence making the decisions instead of farmers.

TAKE ACTION: Tell Congress to Scrap the 2026 House Farm Bill!
