Hi Jimi,
Every year, one report lands in my inbox and I find myself forwarding it to just about everyone I know.

The EWG's Dirty Dozen and Clean Fifteen just dropped for 2026, and if you do any of the grocery shopping in your household, this one's worth a few minutes of your time.

Here's the thing: I don't share this to create fear around food. The goal has always been the opposite... to give you the clearest possible picture so you can make confident, informed choices without second-guessing every aisle at the supermarket.

What I find genuinely fascinating about this list is how it shifts year to year. It's a real snapshot of how food safety standards and pesticide use are evolving across the industry, and sometimes the changes are surprising.

This year, spinach and kale hold firm (meaning they're more likely to have pesticides) at the top of the Dirty Dozen, while strawberries, grapes, and peaches are back on the list too. On the flip side, avocados, pineapple, and onions remain among the cleanest, largely because their tougher skin acts as a natural barrier to pesticide absorption.

It's a simple framework, but it can make a real difference, especially if buying everything organic isn't always realistic for your budget (and honestly, for most people it isn't).

2026’s Dirty Dozen List

The Dirty Dozen consists of fruits and vegetables that tend to have the highest levels of pesticide residues when conventionally grown. So to err on the side of caution, we definitely recommend you buy organic, or at least spray-free, when picking these up at your local grower this year.
  1. Spinach
  2. Kale, collard, and mustard greens
  3. Strawberries
  4. Grapes
  5. Nectarines
  6. Peaches
  7. Cherries
  8. Apples
  9. Blackberries
  10. Pears
  11. Potatoes
  12. Blueberries
2026's Clean Fifteen List

The Clean Fifteen comprises fruits and vegetables that tend to have the lowest levels of pesticide residues when conventionally grown. For these items, buying organic is considered less crucial because they have lower pesticide residue levels than the Dirty Dozen. One thing you’ll notice is that most of these safe foods tend to have a tougher exterior or skin that is removed when prepared for eating. You could even see this as a suit of armor that protects the foods from the outside world so you can enjoy them in all their deliciousness.

I want to kick off and welcome Stress Awareness Month by taking a real look at how stress actually shows up in your everyday life.

It’s easy to brush it aside as just another part of being busy, but the signals your body sends are real, and worth paying attention to.

Because stress is so much more than an occasional worry.

Unlike worry, which stems from our internal thoughts, stress is a response to external pressures.

Think about scenarios like moving house, going through a divorce, becoming a parent, or preparing for a high-stakes interview. It affects both mind and body, and for many people, it’s a constant, enduring companion.

Here are five easily-felt signals that stress has taken the driver's seat:

  • Physical tension and pain
    Stress often reveals itself through musculoskeletal discomfort, persistent headaches, a clenched or aching jaw, tightness in the neck, shoulders, or back, and sometimes even unexplained aches throughout the body. These symptoms are your muscles’ response to being on constant alert, often without you realizing it.

  • Disrupted energy and sleep cycles
    Chronic stress can leave you drained during the day, even after a full night’s sleep. Paradoxically, it can also make it difficult to fall asleep or stay asleep, as your mind races and your body remains on high alert, preventing deep rest.

  • Internal distress and irregular body functions
    Beyond muscle tension, stress can upset your internal balance, causing shallow breathing, chest pains, heart palpitations, digestive problems (like stomach pain, bloating, or nausea), or even spells of dizziness. These symptoms reflect your organs and internal systems reacting to prolonged pressure.

  • Emotional overwhelm and indecision
    When stress is triggered by external situations, it can make you feel powerless or “at a loss.” This sense of overwhelm often leads to difficulty making decisions, irritability, or feeling emotionally raw, as if even small problems feel insurmountable.
  • Constant ‘fight or flight’ state
    Extended stress activates your sympathetic nervous system, keeping you in survival mode. This heightened state makes it hard to relax, recover, or experience pleasure, as your body is constantly bracing for the next challenge rather than shifting into healing and renewal.


If you’ve experienced any of these, ignoring these signs doesn’t make them go away. They simply become woven deeper into your day-to-day life until they feel normal.

Hey...I know it's April Fools Day today and I thought about pranking you, but honestly what I'm about to share is shocking enough on its own.

I wish what I was about to tell you was a joke, but it's not.

As you know, I've been investigating the differences between food products sold in America versus Europe for a really long time now.

And what I've found has really opened up my eyes as to how much Americans are being poisoned compared to our friends in other countries.

Food companies have reformulated their products to sell overseas – selling them safer versions of the same products while continuing to sell Americans the more toxic versions.

And the more I dug into this, the more I realized it wasn't just happening with processed food ingredients.

It runs the gamut from pesticides sprayed on our crops, chemicals in our plastics, the drugs and feed given to farm animals, even the substances in our cookware and food packaging.

The double standard is everywhere.

One of the most alarming examples is Roundup weedkiller.

Bayer sells Roundup to farmers in both the U.S. and Europe, but the rules around how it can be used, what goes into it, and how much can end up in your food are dramatically different – and Americans are paying the price.

These 3 "superfoods" are secretly toxic

If you've been told that peanut butter, almonds, and spinach are healthy staples, what you're about to read could change your mind.

These 3 so-called superfoods might actually be causing problems inside your body.

Here's a closer look at why...

1. Peanut butter

Yes, peanut butter has some protein and a handful of vitamins. But the negatives outweigh the positives by a wide margin.

First off, peanuts contain some of the highest levels of aflatoxin out there.

That's a mold toxin that develops when peanuts sit in humid storage conditions.

Peanut butter is also loaded with inflammatory omega-6 fats. And because of how it's manufactured, those fats wind up damaged and oxidized.

Most of us are already overloaded with omega-6s from vegetable oils like soy, corn, and canola.

That imbalance contributes to insulin resistance, heart disease, brain inflammation, cancer, and a whole list of other problems.

The average person takes in 5 to 10 times more omega-6 than their body needs.Peanut butter also has moderate levels of oxalates.

These are plant-based antinutrients that, when consumed in excess, can trigger kidney stones, thyroid problems, gut issues, joint pain, and more.

And oxalates are an even bigger issue with the next food…


2. Spinach

Spinach is celebrated as a superfood green, but the downsides far exceed the upsides.

It's among the most oxalate-dense foods people eat regularly (along with beet greens, beets, almonds, and certain other vegetables and nuts).

One normal-sized bowl of spinach can pack up to 600 mg of oxalates.

According to Sally Norton, one of the leading oxalate researchers in the world, daily intake should stay between 100 and 200 mg total to avoid health issues from high-oxalate plants.

So you can see why spinach is a real problem given those extreme numbers.

Eating too many oxalates too often can cause kidney stones, thyroid dysfunction, gut damage, skin flare-ups, and painful joints.

Some people have actually landed in the emergency room with kidney failure after drinking green smoothies too frequently.

That's genuine oxalate poisoning.

3. Almonds

Almonds and almond milk are promoted as health foods, but they carry many of the same concerns listed above.

Too many omega-6 fats and far too many oxalates.

Having them occasionally probably won't do damage.

But I personally keep almonds to a minimum because of the oxalate and omega-6 issues.
