I will never find out if they will grow here since I hate both itemsI broke down and planted some tumeric and ginger root this evening....not sure if it'll make it, never tried growing it here.
And I expect that I will have to take the SIL somewhere tomorrow....
It does try to suck them right off your feet occasionally.have trouble keeping the muck from stealing your boots?
Not that it really any of my business, but have you ever tried say "No. Go hire a neighborhood kid."? Or maybe saying, "Sure. I'll be right over, but it will cost you $50 for time, gas, and equipment depreciation."Had to go mow wife units friends yard today.
Kids actually work to earn money?I don't think I've seen any kids mowing a lawn in about 10 years....sad but true.
Apparently I am just not too brightNot that it really any of my business, but have you ever tried say "No. Go hire a neighborhood kid."? Or maybe saying, "Sure. I'll be right over, but it will cost you $50 for time, gas, and equipment depreciation."
I grew up working every weekend, then berries and beans all summer, then a newspaper route seven days a week... but we were taught to have a work ethic, not this socialistic demand that everything be handed to us on a silver platter because the world owes us something.Kids actually work to earn money?
yeah right...
G'night Dale. I"m headed for the sack too. If you're still here, Crom, I guess you can get the lights again tonight.Hablamos mañana.....I'm whipped again......
Ahh the poorer kids just learned how to be like the more affluent kids.I grew up working every weekend, then berries and beans all summer, then a newspaper route seven days a week... but we were taught to have a work ethic, not this socialistic demand that everything be handed to us on a silver platter because the world owes us something.
And on whom do we place the blame for this? Ourselves for giving our children everything we dd not get? I did not do that, but I know many who did. Who/what else caused the downfall of the American work ethic?we have become a lazy spoiled society that wants every thing right now
Ohh the work ethics and loyalty to an employer died for several reasons. And on whom do we place the blame for this? Ourselves for giving our children everything we dd not get? I did not do that, but I know many who did. Who/what else caused the downfall of the American work ethic?
Perzactly why Phillip is looking for a new job. The one he has now fucks him over every chance they get. Even worse, he busts his ass and won't get a pay raise unless every dingleberry in the plant gets a raise.Ohh the work ethics and loyalty to an employer died for several reasons.
One was the increase in re-organizations, Reductions in force, reduction in benefits, offshoring, etc.
Loyalty works both ways with me.
You cannot be continually jacking around your employees and expect them to remain loyal to you.
I still had to do a good job or find another job.
Just the way I roll.
I think I've mentioned in the past what was taught to me when I was old enough to mop floors in my father's restaurants, etc....then it was digging ditches with a shovel, then run heavy equipment, then build commercial buildings, yep, the old man taught me the value of a dollar early, and that was about what he paid me mopping the floors when I started at about 8 yrs old, a dollar....I grew up working every weekend, then berries and beans all summer, then a newspaper route seven days a week... but we were taught to have a work ethic, not this socialistic demand that everything be handed to us on a silver platter because the world owes us something.
While I agree that benefits and raises suffered in most jobs, that does not account for a person's desire to pay his own way in life. Just because you are not getting great benefits, which might make you mad at that particular employer, it does not make you suddenly desire to have someone else pay your way through life. I am 70 years old, have been 100% disabled for 20 years now, and I still do my own labor without expecting any freebies from anyone. I know people with far less pains than me who are riding the government handout bandwagon and screwing the system for every penny they can steal: I will not do that. I earn what I get.the work ethics and loyalty to an employer died for several reasons
AND....this is the UNITED STATES, you don't have to work for anyone but yourself if you so choose. Then the ball is in our court....DO or DIE.While I agree that benefits and raises suffered in most jobs, that does not account for a person's desire to pay his own way in life. Vivimed Life Sciences Private Limited manufactures pharmaceutical products. The company was incorporated in 2017 and is based in Hyderabad, India.

climate has no intelligence.Thought this was a good article on Climate Intelligence
HhahahaBut for bizarre, I heard a neighbor mowing lawn in the rain
Boy, I hear ya there, Crom.I never got released from lifting 1 gallon of milk max over 20 years ago
Sure. Partly cloudy, warm, light breeze... totally bizarro... and I worked my ass off OUTSIDE today (which caused me to bleed some more).Anyone have any bizarre weather today?
Pay their way? Not from me. I am done with that.Boy, I hear ya there, Crom.
My doc says I should never left more than 10 pounds (OK, 15 max). But, here on the farm, things do not come in 10 pound packages. A bag of wheat weighs 60 pounds, and yes, I lift on every couple days. A bag of cat food is 38 pounds. etc., etc. This is why I have to wear a back brace... When I have to reach into the refrigerator to get that one gallon milk jug out, I have to use both arms because I cannot lift that high with one arm (shoulders can't take it).
But look at both of us... we lift and build and fix and mow and... why the fuck are all those healthy young people demanding that WE pay their way in life?
Wrastling with the concertina wire again.....Sure. Partly cloudy, warm, light breeze... totally bizarro... and I worked my ass off OUTSIDE today (which caused me to bleed some more).
I'm in the same situation except South Dakota has no elderly exemption on property taxes, so I still have to fork over $600/year.We paid zero income taxes for the past 2 years.
And have a homestead exemption for elderly on our property taxes so they are reasonable.
And have no mortgage or car payments.
of course I pay sales taxes, etc.
Naw, this time it was picking up trash under wild plum trees. They have really nasty thorns,Wrastling with the concertina wire again
Not an exemption, well yes for 50K I think it is of value. You pay taxes on the rest.I'm in the same situation except South Dakota has no elderly exemption on property taxes, so I still have to fork over $600/year.
Mine is assessed at considerably less than that, but if anyone wants to buy it, I'll ask 3x that much. Not an exemption, well yes for 50K I think it is of value. You pay taxes on the rest.
I think my assessed value is 75K?Mine is assessed at considerably less than that, but if anyone wants to buy it, I'll ask 3x that much.
Well, my tired old ass is really aching tonight, so I'm gonna crash. Is this your third night in a row to turn out the lights?
No state income tax but we have 6.5% sales tax. My land here is a buck ninety eight. The assessed value is about $38k because of all the buildings. If this property and the same buildings were in east Texas, it would sell for $300k. I guess everything depends on where you are and what the demand is (like who the hell is stupid enough to want to buy in the middle of fucking nowhere South Dakota? Oh....me.)I think my assessed value is 75K?
You have high property taxes considering....
Must not have a state income tax?
Seems to cause that in people with certain mental disorders moreso than in those without those disorders.
The devolving of the human species.Mental illness is more common than the cold these day......
Damn Juice, you gotta nice chunk of paradise....!Shit, property tax for our three acres of Ag zoned land in Hawaii County was only $200 for the whole year.
How's it going, Bob?.....did the rain pass?
