Weird. Steam Engine puts it at 0.15Ω per coil with a 2mm leg length.
Yea I dont use steam for build like that...It always says its way lower then it actually turns out to be..even with the used wires or not. On the Hohm Wrecker it says its a .1

Finally got around to a polished build. Been waiting on wire for what seems like forever, but I had to sit down to build something.

Aggressively polished 22gN80, 14 wrap on 3mm.
I used 220, 320, 600, 1500, and 2000 grit paper, and a wet sand with 2000 after that.

Overall I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. The way colours came out are what made it all worth it.

BTW I changed Leg Length fro,5 to 10 to 2 and the stats didnt change...
I got 0.167Ω on 10mm and 0.15Ω on 2mm. You have to click outside of the box to get it to update the resistance. Or use the arrows to change the length. Either/or will work.

You know when I first saw that TMV2 I thought it wouldnt be any better then the V1 but as I ponder on it more it makes perfect sense and I understand why they did it (atleast the Deck). I am looking forward to seeing if I can make a nice 2x26g 316L/44N80 Fused Clapton Dual Coil on it since the reason I am excited now is the thought of not only using it like the V1 but you can use just the outer most holes if you want for long coils....That would be like using just then negative posts on the V1 for coils...that adds some options, also you could use the center holes just for the Staged Heating wires if you wanted or do something similar to Guatch on IG....The more I think about it the more Im glad I ordered it...
I WILL be using the Double Vision Top Cap on it though...or the Twisted Messes Mini Top Cap, for increased flavor and round/non whistley airflow...
I wish they just sold the deck or I hope it gets cloned soon so I can buy more for the decks and then use other topcaps on them...
That's the whole reason why I'm so happy I didn't grab the tm v1 (decided a few days ago that's the one I was gonna get). I love making big long coils so I can get around .4-.5 ohm and have max surface area. Being able to use just the outter post is an amazing option . ... But now I'm stuck between the Tmv2 and the goon rda .... I know u said it'll be a pain to build on but Idk theres something about it thats just calling my name

Haha no worries, one question I was considering trying to do this now with some 24g Titanium I have and you've given all the grit levels you used which is nice thanks for that. My one question is how the hell did you clean it after sanding the shit out of it? I would assume you'd have to clean it since there would be tons of metal flake and sandpaper residue on the coils.....or am I just looking to far into this and just run it under some water etc and done.

Well I never knew that, I always assumed compvape was a made in USA authentic for a solid price, thanks for the info then. Still not sure I'll bother picking on up though, the biggest benefit seems to be for series builders like you that can use the outer two screw holes.

I was wrong, compvape is chicago based, i would assume he had legit reasons for using a different manufacturer this time. I don't know him well enough to ask, but i do know that a lot of stateside machinists have a hard time keeping up with demand. I'm only speculating though :D

I'm glad you came back and corrected that, i figured from a little research a while back they were USA based but wasn't going to argue with someone like yourself over it lol.

Single Coil...Haven't used RDA's like this in some time and I figured I would tonight. This is the Coil I made last night and decided to throw it into a Double Vision RDA
10 x .6 Ribbon/ 26KA1/ 40N80 Framed Staple (.16 Ohms and Great @ 140w)

I thought those coils I made with Fused Clapton Cores with Frames and the Outer Wrap Biding everything was deemed a Framed Fused Clapton...You, @iLiptiKal and others suggested naming them that as I called them a Staple Fused Clapton....Remember any of this??
This is the Framed Fused Clapton:

@raymo2u Nice I like it. Original.
I'd call it a "spaced clapton framed fused clapton"

Haha yeah maybe. Either way I like your originality, I haven't seen this done by anyone else so hats off.

Makes me wonder what an alien wrap would do around that, might fill out a mohawk variation nicely...

I was thinking it would look nice the way the pic below are done but with a nice 3-4 core 26K/ .3 Ribbon Fused Clapton As the Core, maybe without the surrounding core Ribbon shown...

So above minus the Ribbon Cores, with this as the Core (with 3/4 cores wide though) :

Holy crap those look nice.

Now that I'm starting to play with framed builds, I have a question. How do I keep the frames on the outside of the coil when I'm doing the final wrap? I find when I'm wrapping the frames go all over the place and don't really stay with the core to well. I'm u seing swivels if it helps

I use Wire Crimp Bits and wrap a thin wire around them to keep everything flat and seated.

I've had pretty good success with wire only to support the ribbon and frames.
I need to make a better video with better lighting.

If you need any help after you get it for wicking or build ideas and more just ask. Once you know how its done its simply amazing and it wont ever let you down...
I went into a local shop today, one that I will actually still support, to get some wire and bam there's a Griffin in the display case. So as usual I left with less money than I intended on. Knowing that I am still unable to pull off those damn claptons, what kind of build and wicking technique would you recommend in this?
