Next time you should space the wraps. Get a small screw with 3-3.5mm diameter, you will get perfect spacing and better performance from the nickel.

I have about 18 tanks and thus far the Aspire Mega gives me the best flavor/cloud with that said I drip more then anything and most all my builds are a clapton of some sort as of now I haven't built a coil that gives better flavor then the Claptons do.....well other then the catapillar track coil. What ohm is your wrap running at?

Yea 1.0 ohm at 30w isn't what I would be vaping brother, I would bring down the ohm if possible. I think that would make the differance ( with the clapton coil) and your device is so limited I would recommend the tnt 80 box mod, I'll post a link.

Well lol I just don't know what to say..... I haven't had a clapton build yet not to give me nice flavor, but then again I like a hot vape. I would say bring down the ohm on the clapton build then try again.

2nd time trying out this transformer build, came out way better than the first, was unable to center it though which kinda sucks the leads were too short. Still chucks the flavor and the clouds in mutation v4 sitting on cherrybomber @ .1 ohms.

The toughest part was getting it in the post holes.

I need a better drill. It was having a rough time with spinning the 36g kanthal over the 26g nichrome, so i cut a corner and wrapped it spaced out a little. End result was good but with a better drill i can spin it without spaces.
What drills do you guys use?

I used a cordless for the longest but after a few times wrapping a fused staple clapton and the battery died I was done with cordless, I now use a regular plug in and C clamp it to my work station. Works very well.

Im not anywhere near builds like that yet but I do know good battery operated drills some good ones are dewalt makita which are two of the most popular that i know of and work rather well

I use a 14.4v dewalt which was a beast but halfway through the clapton it drops a great deal, making it an eternal process, especially the thinner claptons. Maybe the batteries are done for.

Your batteries need replacement. Go buy a few new 14.4v cells and you'll see it's not the drill.

Have I got the cotton wicked properly? Kinda makes sort of a 'rainbow' shape.
Also - made a chuff cap out of a Tylenol bottle lol

I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of this.
26g Ka1
Wrapped around 5/64 drill bit @ 8 wraps
Coming in at .4ohms

Could be cleaner though, but I kind of rushed it. Also I know I could work on my wicking.

Okay so here's my 1st attempt at a dual coil with different coils. Took forever to get identical resistance and for them to fire equally but here it is:

Looks Good.

You can also vary the height of the coil in relation to your air inlets to adjust the flavor, vapor, and throat hit.

Can you try to center the coils?

It will even out the cotton/wick load.

Do you mean got to the further post not the one right next to each other?

Not to sure of the question, But...

Try to shift the coils, (can't move the posts), More towards the center of the build deck.

This will even out the distance from right to left for an equal amount of space for cotton.

Jim

EDIT: Yes, to answer your question, Yes.

Yes I meant use the positive post that further away from each negative one ...I thought of this after I had a perfect usable build on there that's not giving me any trouble so the next one I will try this thank you

26 gauge kanthal with 36 gauge kanthal fused clapton and paralleled with 24 gauge N80 all wrapped around a 2.5 mm bit coming out to 0.10 ohms. I used the 13 heavens 9 hells RDA. Awesome flavor and clouds fer days.

My only complaint would be the airflow, not enough. Debating on drilling the air flow holes out a bit.
Petri is flavor king to me. I've got the first version. Occasionally I wish for a tad more air and the first version has the post turn issue sometimes. I want the new one.
