I agree.. I run the twisted messes. But have 4 others I use 3 posts... As long as it is real (not cloned) & square posts I'm good .lol

so I just put this 4 strand twisted a-1 on my mutation x v4 and its reading between .14 and .11 and the box for the mutation x recommends not building below .2 so does anyone know why they recommend that? I have good batteries and my mod will fire so is it dangerous ? Should I take it out? I really like this build. So I could use some feed back. Anyone?

I'd assume because you run the risk of melting the insulator because of high heat. I've installed a 0.07ohm in a buddies MXV4 (on a parallel box, safety first) and his has been fine. Just be careful when dry firing it, I usually put some juice in the juice well to help keep it cooled off when cleaning my coils.

I
I was bored. Nichrome 33/26 Staggered fused Clapton sittin in my stro mini. Anyone know how much wraps this counts as??

View attachment 28239

I first did this one but realized that the wraps situated between the posts weren't getting much air, so as a solution I did that little bridge thingy.

Don't know what to call this, I've never seen it done.

0.25 317L wrapped around 0.35 317L clapton style. Then did a clapton style wrap over that using Kanthal A1 .05x.1 ribbon. Crazy hard to work with.

4 wraps at 4mm, .26 ohms, goes like a beast on dna200 Temp Control at 100 watts!!

Fused clapton using
2 strands of .35 317L fore the core
Wrapped with .05x.1 mm Kanthal A1 ribbon
7 wraps at 3mm id, 0.23 ohms
400f/75 watts really good vape, my favorite yet

***If this is not the place for this post, mods please move it or delete it**

This is my first post as well as my first build. I did a few calculations prior to building but mostly just "winged" it and ended up with .27 ohms of resistance through my coils. They are 30 AWG Kanthal, parallel wrapped. ~5/6 wraps I think. I know that there is a ton of room for improvement in the symmetry and geometry of the coils. I mainly just wanted to see how my battery would fire it and If I could get something close to around .3 ohms. I knew my battery would theoretically fire it, however theoretical circuit analysis deals with "ideal" components. The coils are on a Mutation X V4 powered by the Innokin cool fire 4. I definitely regret getting the Innokin now that I see nearly everyone is using 100-150 W units. It'll fire it but I think a little more power would be helpful. Anyway, here it is (sorry about the terrible iPhone quality). Feel free to provide constructive criticism

Hey Rommel, which atty are you using there? Looks something like a Mutation

Here's my previous build:
1ea4980e2ed036269f3501136847990e.jpg
I used adjacent posts for each coil which is a first for me

Here's my current build:
fd3411d0dc7e6e9bff389a1b811a8e6c.jpg
Both builds are dual, 32/26 kanthal, 6 wraps, 3mm, 0.3Ω. I decided to leave a lil space between wraps on this one

Okay here's my very first attempt at something more complex than a Clapton:

I used two stands of 32g and Clapton'd them over a 26g. I then unwrapped one of the 32g strands. I snipped the ½ stripped wire in two and Clapton'd both of them together with another 32g. Staggered fused Clapton right?
6 wraps on a 3mm reads at 0.3Ω

DAMN. I am super jealous of some of the building skills displayed here. I've made regular claptons before, but I could never get fused claptons down. This is about as fancy as I get:

twisted_parallel.jpg

That's twisted 28AWG in parallel with 24AWG. 2mm ID, I believe it was around .20 ohms but unfortunately this is from about a month ago and I didn't notate my ohmage.

This is my current build in my Sapor. Using Titanium in TC mode on my XCube II:

FullSizeRender (2).jpg

Obviously you can see it's reading at .15 ohms. This was .4mm Sweet Spot Vapors Ti Wire; 7 wraps 2mm ID. This build is about 48 hours old and it still tastes like I just wicked it. I've been fully converted from ni200. I still have some lying around I might try to use to do a hybrid ni200/nichrome or ni200/kanthal build.

First time building with n80. Beautiful colors, comes in at .18 ohms. This is 26g n80 parallel with twisted 28g ka1, 8 wraps each side with a 2mm ID on the Troll. You know, if I could find grub screws to fit this thing, I'd be really happy.

Dunno, couldnt be bothered to check :D should be like 0.3-0.4 ohms, just right for my 8.4v box.
