"Now that you're past your 2nd cup of coffee and won't be able to get back to sleep, I'm kinda tired. Wake me up when the kibbles hit the bits".... Gotta love her

Awww......you missed me?
I don't hear that very often.
Well....I do......I hear "I missed him"...then the sound of reloading.
Yes Hawkie, I have missed you a lot! You don't believe it but I luvs you. I look forward to seeing you and reading your posts and knowing you are alive and well. You have a very special place in my heart.

Whew, I hate when I get all serious and mushy. Completely ruins my reputation!

I have never been a huge fan of lamb but this looks amazingly good. Now I want to do a pot roast just so I can make this with the left overs!!

Stan made his famous green chili "stew" and I have been enjoying that. He uses different beans and adds potatoes so it is a complete meal. Out here, green chili is usually pork, mild green chili (think Hatch green chili) in a slightly thickened sauce with some seasonings. It is often used to smother burritos etc. but can be eaten by the bowl with some tortillas. It is one of my favorite things in the world but it has to be on the mild side for my mouth to handle.

At least you're on the tail end of winter, we're just getting into fall :headbang::gaah::cuss2::tantrum::blah::wait::slowclap::grumpy: friggin' lake effect...Can you tell I'm excited?
There is a white covering on the mountains and some of the hills. I don't mind winter but I am not looking forward to chaining that big truck. In fact, I am already trying to think of ways to avoid it. I was successful last winter. Never even touched the chains.

What I would've given to be able to have chains (illegal in Michigan) the last few winters, we had a 1/2 mile driveway and no plow. Just a kubota, which had a snowblower, but only works on the back side so you had to make three or four passes in reverse

These are not ladybugs and are not helpful. We get these a lot around here.
bug0033.jpg
Let me guess, in every corner, every windowsill, and every pair of clean undies? Maybe 2 of the 3? We had them at the old place. I couldn't figure out how mites got past them all, up the stairs and into my locked garden... They must have beeen crawling in the lock to pick it lol what a mental picture.

Good Morning Kids!

Can you use cables? Stan has them for the big truck and hasn't had to use them yet. I hear they are pretty good.

Good morning er'body!!

Back home and settled in. Had a nice week but it sure is nice to get back to my mountains.

Congrats on the big win dog!!
2 days ago, we were the feel good story of the decade. Now everyone hates us because umpires didn't pay a few free kicks the swans way, and out coach gave his medallion to out injured captain, who ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament early season.

Ok. Not everyone hates us. But the haters are being quite vocal

Glad you are back home and settled. Did you ever make it to Flamingo Grill? Any other neat places that you found? Trying to talk Mike into going over Christmas break.....I didn't have enough time there to miss my mountains. Way too much to do as far as traveling and attending the wedding celebrations (the reason for the trip in the first place). 1 day on the beach was not enough for me.....lol

I'm excited for winter. Got the family a 4 wheeler to play on this year. Luckily when it snows about anything goes in Nebraska. I've never had an issue commuting with my Cooper AT3 tires which I've had on the last two SUVs. Of course when it's really bad, my commute is basically an empty two lane hwy for 12 miles so I can use as much road as I want lol.

My wife wanted a little Mazda, so she got one. That should be interesting this winter. I've considered mounting a winch on it.

Mazda are good. Perfect for those who neglect maintenance a bit.

A winch is a great investment if you get stuck even once a year. Im going to be buying a hand winch to keep in the trunk this year if we can afford it

freezing, like literally below 50 F some nights
Thats purtty durned chilly, I got curious and checked wiki for average winter weather in Melbourne... looks like the coldest average is about low to mid 40's? that's not as bad as it could be

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michigan#Climate

I lived alot further from Lake Michigan last winter... this year were 1.25 miles (as the crow flies) from dippin toes in Lake MI, the Lake effect snow is going to be interesting to say the least...

i'll be doing movember this year

clean shave nov 1st, then document growing a moustache and beg people to donate to the men's health charity

i did it 3 years ago, but also going to add the move challenge, where i set an activity target, so i need to decide on a target that is more than my standard 4000 step target, but still achievable

I guess you didn't take to cycling, huh?

That would be the obvious activity.
