Nice, I wish I could figure out how to get ahold of a mech. Secret societies and such I guess...

I have 2 series mods coming in a month or two. Mech from pdib, mosfet from studiovape.

Yeah, they are out there. I have a wood series squonker with a mosfet from Sonar that seriously puts out. Only paid $70 for it too

Some have reported the need to use a file on the plastic button to make it push down smoothly - I have five of these and use three in my rotation religiously

make sure the bottle cap is screwed in tightly and the screw holding in button is secure.

Some folks also recommend giving the screw on the firing button a couple of light sideways swipes with a file.

I had one start to give me problems and someone here (I think it was Rudedog?) suggested a few sideways swipes with a file as shown below

That is what worked when one of mine started giving me problems.

I wipe mine down once a day with alcohol (usually vodka, but Everclear and isopropal also work) to keep them clean. Any gunk builds up and they tend to not to want to fire. A once a day quick wipedown is usually more than sufficient.

African black wood & ancient bog oak dual squonkers by Pdib & Studiovape should keep you in the easy chair for a while. Are the ChiNarda and ChiOdis going atop these? They are both excellent single coil attys.

No, they are for parallel battery squonks. I have a stumpy current on a noisy cricket practicing series buikds, and a goon for the two incoming. Both deal well with aggressive builds

African Black Wood. Very dense wood, Peter said with the sizemof nutter caps, straight grain may warp, but afblack *should* be okay, since it is so dense and tough. Minimal saint might be better at describing properties of it to work with

It's going to be gorgeous, that much I do know for sure!
African Ebony is the name I've mostly heard for Blackwood, and from what I understand it's very similar to the density of burl without the grain characteristics of burl.
I had a very small piece in my garage for awhile that I'd received as a trade for some turning blanks, but I'm 99% sure it got tossed as scrap at some point. Outside of the basics I don't know much except it has a beautiful finish and I'm sure whomever is in charge of that block will know exactly what to do with it!
Digging through my blanks and bits I found a good candidate for some resin casting,
I believe this is rosewood, though I'm not sure what type. It has a beautiful deep red, almost purple and it's solid as a rock. It came from a hand-sawn board used in a door of some type and I picked it up as a scrap end piece when they salvaged the lumber.

I received a Tiberian Vapors Mulciber RDA two days ago and wow. 17mm deck, 22mm base. Single coil layout. It's so seriously good. Also, you don't actually have to be in one of those secret society Facebook groups to buy it. They're in-stock right on their website. A bit spendy, but less than the retail price of a Hadaly. Need to supply your own drip tip though . I'm using the delrin drip tips from my Cthulhu MTL RTA. With the single slot airflow ring I am getting a great MTL draw.

On the other hand, I'm not super happy with the Cthulhu Gaia RDTA. Too airy for me, and bottom airflow is whistle prone.

The Pindad fromBombertech, same company as the Firefly, is great. I use the 510 drip tip adapter and those same tips I mentioned

TL;DR? I spent too much money recently and like tiny atomizers now.

The Chi Odis is my fav so far of the Chi clones.
I put dual 2.5 mm SS coils in mine.

Man I can't stop using this reaper mod! This thing is so nice and the button is probably my favorite one on a mod to date!

O.k., I can read between the lines; you hate that mosfet. I would be willing to take it off your hands, understanding of course that the added crap (mosfet) kind of hurts resale value... ;) Trade possible (+cash) if you would have interest in a Tmod Micro.

Nice.....I would love one like that made of stab wood...no way in hell I could afford one like that, but a guy can dream, no?

You know,
Funny you should say that. As I was sitting here staring at my desk....
I bought some bookmatched stabwood scales with the intent on using it as door material, but I'm having reservations about thinning the pieces too much and having an issue with my door warping on me or even cracking in the process of cutting the hole, magnets, etc.
so here I am, with a perfectly good set of "fronts and backs" staring at me.
On that note, I'd like to thank the members here for being so welcoming and the inspiration you've all given me. It'a fun to get feedback from the folks who love squonkers as much as I do!
Now.
What to do about these. :xD:

Hey guys, anybody squonking a Goon 22? I'm using a 24 on my Wraith with a .6 single coil and I really enjoy it. I was curious if anyone had experience with the 22...

Yes I have been running a Goon 22 for a few months now. When i first built on it I tried a single coil at around .6 worked great. But after tweaking. What shined for me was dual coil 7 wraps coming in at .43 ohms. I seem to remember @JuicyLucy comparing her 24 and 22 goons and finding that the 22 seem to give more flavor.

The Goon 22 clone I have has an oddball stepped positive pin with very small diameter threaded section. It's going to need some creative slot cutting to make it a bottom feeder. No pin swap 'n vape with this one.

Fagan said they are having feeder tube problems on drone. But lost vape is working on it.

Don't drip and drive.

I have an authentic Goon 22 in my rotation and it rocks - warms up a tad faster than the 24 but of course, has less room if you are into big honking builds.

Wanted to try my hand at an entry level squonker so ordered one from MFS on sale. I bought the Eleaf Pico 50watt kit. I know it's probably not the best one but I didnt want to invest a bunch of money since I have never used a squonker and don't know if I will like it.

They are not bad little squonkers - I fired one of mine up that has been lingering in the stash for awhile. Like it better than I remembered, lol

Don't know about the atty that comes with it - I ordered mine without one because included squonk atties usually blow
