Above answer is the short version which omits a robocall on a cell phone I no longer use, an additional payment snafu and having to dig through their annoying product page twice :gaah:

Have decided I am not fond of buying from the UK between this and the great MM debacle :wait:

Took me less than 2 minutes to get that Chalice IV from Romania and it arrived in five days

Sheesh, even China is easier, the Philippines, slow-ass Canada....

If it's any consolation, their shipping was LIGHTNING fast! Was at my front door less than 2 days after I ordered.

I dunno - I see people going nutz for Soul, and there's a MASSIVE aftermarket for caps...but the thing doesn't call to me.

I mean, what're all those screws for? Half the people using it are running a single coil...
If I ever did want 6 posts (I don't), I'd use my Pancake.

And the big ol' basic dome shape...doesn't ring my bell, or I'd get a Nipple.

Airflow...doesn't look special, it's just a slot.

So what's the "thing" about this RDA?
Is it just a hype machine, fueled by a bazillion caps, or by initial scarcity?
Someone enlighten me!!

The Sqounkable Facebook group might be doing a group buy on the Soul S. They have a post to see how much interest they have. Hope it happens. They are gonna have caps too.

On the other hand, I got a Pulse22, and fully expected it to suck.
It. does. not. suck.
Might be that I threw a clapton in, which is REALLY unusual for me.
But dayum - it is vaping perfectly - great vapor production, enough control of air for some draw range; and really nice flavor.

I'd say for instance, easily on par with my Goon22, but
a) Easy-build single coil vs. duals in Goon
b) even more leakproof
c) cheaper (Goon22 is authentic, Catfished)

To be honest, I've no clue, besides all the reviews and fanatical attitude about it, and that it's supposedly 'SO much better than the Hadaly' .. I got onboard a good group buy and since they are impossible to get I went for it. As far as caps, I think they only have a few, maybe more via Vikset. But definitely
the green cap was an incentive.
I agree, the deck is strange. Super frustrated I can't build it until I pick up some coils.
As far as 'doesn't look special' .. I feel that way about every other atty I see too, never know until I give it a shot.. annnd the scarcity part = good trade bait if it's not for me, so win/win
; )

I hope for you it's awesome, really!!
Was honestly wondering WHY it was so popular - I'm guessing it's GOT to be a good vape, with as many fans as there are...

Let us know!

Yeah man, that's good news.
Excited to try the Pulse!
And there's so many colors, buying the whole Pulse rda rainbow would be like half the cost of colored fancy topcaps!

Will do!

No, I totally got you man. I hope it's great too. I'm messaging my coil guy right now, will give a report asap. The RDA hype train has been good to me so far, although I haven't tried the Armor, Solo or Typhon.
I thought the same as you when the Goon came out and was pleasantly surprised. Then the Apocalypse a couple weeks ago made me go 'okay. THIS is why people won't shut up about this thing'
Hope the Soul S follows suit!

I couldnt tell you. I hear the vape is really nice. I cant say because i have not tried it. I thought it was worth a shot. I like the idea of different caps, and if the vape off it is half as good as the hype im sure ill like it just fine.

I know multiple people who own it and swear by it so i thought i would grab one after i missed out on the last group buy....

Just looked...didn't realize there's a v1.5.

It says:
The connector of the fire button is improved and a silver ring is added to the 510 connector, this will increase the contact area to decrease spark as firing. Please check the pictures.

But I can't see if they DID add a ring, like an MM has for instance, for the contact point.
I see they do still have someone takin' pictures who doesn't understand squonking, and keeps putting the door on wrong.
LOL

It's not really a ring like the MM,it's that little sleeve they show sitting next to the contact in the picture, may help, not sure though.I have the first version that came out,and it is not very good, sparks pretty heavily with a low ohm build, and the doors do not fit worth a damn,so hopefully on the v 1.5 maybe they made the body a few mm wider too_On mine,if you push either door on all the way,the other will wobble horribly,i had to add a strip of duct tape behind the edge of the back door to keep it from rattling.I think i may just use some epoxy and glue the back door on haha.

I believe all they did was bend the contact differently where it touches the 510 and add the sleeve. You can buy the new contact and the little sleeve by themselves.I don't think they did anything to fix the door issue. They borrowed the idea from a guy on the Fasttech forum. Will take a lot more than that to fix this POS.

Wellllll

First, guess you have to create an account once you go to check out, and so I did, but after going through everything, including paying with PP, it said problem, try again later

The red message pops up saying I already have an account, so sort that mess - lots of digging out emails from spam filter online (more )

More red message, blah, blah
then my card issuer throws a hissy fit wanting verification...

Solve that, then it doesn't like shipping address being different than mailing address on file with card issuer....

But, they finally let me spend $100 plus international fedex shipping for a few drip tips
But you feel so much better spending that money if you had to fight for it or win a chance to buy something....

Into the room comes a five foot eleven to six foot tall man wearing a shoulder holster with a Ruger 9mm having been custom made with ball bearing action. On this man's waist and tucked in his utility belt over his shorts is a wrist rocket style slingshot and small pouch of led shot for it. He looks over squonker central as he vapes on a glass capped Velocity v2 clone.

On the bulletin board he reads the hot sheet and takes note of the next two wanted persons of interest, he sighs and a cloud of vapor peels out of him filling the room. "Damn it, seems we got a runner, " he says pointing to the second person of interest. "Booked her last week on snuff use. Thought she could fool the fool in me. Frank caught wise to her spittoons around her home, that tipped us for sure."

He turns and while doing so looks at his bare feet a moment, wiggles his toes. "Yeah, I know. You need to get moving. Mr. Belly says he needs filled back up, tough call, eh," he says. Then, he heads through the door of the squad room's break room. "Better fill up Mr. Belly, ... Get lost if he decides to up and run off with a bag of cheesy poofs." He rummages through the freezer to find cheap frozen pot pies for nuking, nods and takes one to the microwave.

While the pot pie is being microwaved he scratches his furry back and watches the pie go round and round. "Hm, one day the chief will let us get a new food-o-matic food synthesizer and boy'o I tell you what, roasted lamb chops for me ..." he says to no one in particular. He squonks and vapes again, looks to find a seat.

While waiting for my Resurrection V2 to ship, I figured I'd dig out the first version for a rip.
I hate 3 post RDA's but the flavor from it trumps that annoying bit.

Another low quality pic from slow-ass Canada... :cuss2: :giggle:

From what I read people that like a little more airflow will like the Soul S over the Hadaly. People are saying that they vape quite similar other than that, and that just like the Hadaly they are easy to over squonk on. Apparently YFTK makes a 1:1 clone for the Soul S. The $20 price tag on 3fvape suggests that might actually be accurate considering the other clones are much cheaper. Also apparently any caps that fit the authentic Soul S will also fit perfectly on the YFTK clone, further suggesting it's 1:1.

Here is a review of the clone. Pretty much says what I've already, and confirms what I've basically read about it on the inter-webs.

I can't watch his reviews after the botched up job on the Aromamizer Plus. It's just too big of a tank for him, he should have hit it with his purse so it would stop leaking. :giggle:

The internal bits suck. Modded mine with copper contacts and MM510. Frame needs to be drilled to accept the MM510. Works like a champ now.
I'll bet it performs a lot better now,but do the doors on your's wobble? That has driven me nuts,it got better when i put a strip of duct tape at the edge of 1 side on the back, but still moves a bit.I won't be happy until i epoxy it on so it won't move again haha.

Eh, hit the number 40 on squonk mods about 10 days ago - think I'll give it a rest unless something truly special, unique or groundbreaking appears ;)

Will continue to beef up my atomizer stash though

I'm gonna have to enforce an "810 drip tip rule" for a little while...just opened up one of my "did I order this?" packages from Fasttech, and there's NINE ultem 810 drip tips in there. Nine? I mean, sure...one was a 3-pak for $1.72, and they ARE different heights (10.5mm, 11mm, 12mm, 13mm and 14mm - I'm all set!), but that's a lotta spare drip tips.

What else do they fit?
I've got one Goon22, 2 Gorges, and one Pulse22...

Doors are wobbly but I'm not really concerned about it. This is mainly a tertiary mod.

They fit in my Nitecore D2 and takes the same amount of time as an HG2 (forever). That is why I have an Xtar SV2 as well, I love the 1A charging for regular batteries and 2A for my 26650's. You could probably charge the Sanyo 20700b's at 2A as well since they have the same capacity as 26650's. I wouldn't even consider charging the 20700b's (4250mAh) in the D2, you'd be looking at 6 hours.
I posted this list in the mech forum back in early June...

View attachment 88322

Screen grab from the post I made...
The Enova Gyrfalcon line of chargers will handle 20700, and I love 'em...
