The Wraith has arrived! Not bad! I have the SXK BF-99 with a GG (fairly narrow/small hole) drip tip. I'm using it in TC at 13.5 w & 365 deg. F and I'm liking the vape. I also received the Silver colored Coppervape, I like it but I need to work out a better built for the Hadaly topping it. The brass CV is delayed again, it will probably make a nice surprise Christmas present to myself ( cause I will have forgotten ordering it by then).
You like the BF99? Not wild about it myself. Put it in a drawer.

Not wild about it but a whole lot better than the "wide open spaces" atty that came with the Wraith. I MTL on most of my gear, the only exceptions are the Alleria rta and Hadaly rda. I like a very tight draw for MTL, the Cyclone is just right for me, the RM2 is a bit loose, The Chalice lll is adjustable so it works fine. Even on the BF99 I have only 11/2 of the three tiny holes open.

I figured you liked the butthole tight draw.
I prefer a restricted lung hit myself.

I haven't used any buttholes vaping so I couldn't compare, but I do like a tight draw.

Don't worry Brewski, Cromwell is so tight it would take a tractor to pull a needle out of his ass

He's just green with envy:D

What I do is give them 2 baths in mineral oil with a wet sand between baths. Then after the last bath when the excess oil has soaked in and dripped off. Then I put on a 50/50 mix of mineral oil and wax melted together and stirred into a paste. (Have used both beeswax and paraffin wax with equal success) Then after it is wired up I put another light coat on it before I ship. Or if kept then I just add rub in a little when I feel it is needed using less and less until after awhile it darkens and gets a smooth and well worn in look to it. You can also us Howard's Feed and Wax $7 from Home Depot. Which adds Carnuba wax for a harder finish. But it does smell orangy for a while.
Damn nice looking mods....!

LOL, that's too funny. I'm not worried, we vape the way we like, there's no hard and fast rule. As for being green, St. PATRICKS is just around the corner. ...so to speak.

I don't think I've shared my drip tip stealing squirrel roommate. I saved her from certain death. Cold and abandoned on a sidewalk in July. I might not be able to release her in the spring since she's not afraid of dogs or humans. She's cuddles at night basically like a cat that actually likes you

OK you squonk heads, since I'm green at squonking couple of questions for you.

  • I know with plastic tanks you need to avoid tank cracking juices, I'm assuming this applies to squonking since it's a plastic bottle. My Frankenskull clone has a Reo bottle so that's plastic. My CC Mod uses the surgical Silicon, does it also apply with it it?
  • Also some juices really attach into a device, any luck on getting the flavor/smell out when you vape really strong juices?

Yeah I avoid plastic tanks 1st out of principle (prices they charge should be quartz glass) and 2nd due to issues in questions above.

No. You are using the same squishy plastic material that your liquids get bottled in. Silicone isn't a problem either. It's the hard plastic that cracks. (Sorry for all the technical lingo - but I don't feel like looking up plastics terminology & formulas right now.)

Some flavors are just nassty. Depending on your choice of mod, determines how much of a problem it can be cleaning it. A full metal Reo can be washed all you want. But bottles & tubing may hold onto some odors and the only way to completely get rid of any odor there may be to swap out a bottle and tubing.

Rinsing out with 90% isopropyl and letting air out for a day helps with taste and odor residue.

Edit: that is after washing thoroughly in warm water.

Finally able to take one of my most favorite mods off the Disabled list. I first made this about 3 years ago it was going to be my take on a Phidias Woodimus but right before I added the inlay I discovered that fonosmaok was still actively making them so I stopped trying to make it an exact copy of his. This is how it ended up.
npxyoUU.jpg

jSrrdnT.jpg

Used it for about a year even though I had no mosfet protecting the switch. Then the spring on the battery contact. slowly caused the top to separate from constant tension.
So I reglued the original top and then I changed out the battery contacts tried a less powerful spring also changed to a different 510 (recessed) and added a mosfet. Ended up like this.
WAIg3OL.jpg

kchc3Au.jpg

Went along fine until last month when the top came off again. So this time I made a new top. And got rid of the battery contact spring all together. Replaced the 510 with a FD V4. Moved mosfet and replaced bottle It is still the smallest 18650 squonker I have. and still gives a great vape. Have been trying it with various atties. But after I got a new Derringer V3 in I went with that. I think lower profile atties look best on this one. Here is what it looks like now.

After working on this one throughout the years it reminds me why I went from using Poly and Lacquers as a finish. To Mineral oil and wax. Because it is not only easier for me to repair. But also any of my customers who accidentally drop their mod and put a dent or a scratch on it can just sand out the imperfection and reapply wax and they are back to brand new again. Plus it just feels so darn much better.

As an addendum to my post. I wanted to talk about the new bottle. After I had ordered them and they were on the way from fasttech. I read some comments on here that they were pretty bad and not worth it. So after I received them I tried to see what I could do to salvage them. I have been using it for about 2 weeks and multiple fills So far working great. Here is what I did.
Compared and replaced the tubing that came with it. The tubing I use on my mods is much thicker but still goes thru the hole in the top cap.
YAMx9XD.jpg

You just have to cut it so it comes to a point to wiggle it through. I also slid a o-ring on the tube that will seal the opening of the bottle so no leaks down the bottle threads. and finally cleaned up the bottle top with a file so the o-ring would sit flush.

So if anyone (my previous customers especially) who ordered some of these bottles from fasttech and wants to try out this fix just let me know.
Sonar,I have some of the frankenfake bottles and would like to try out your fix. Would like to be able to use the damn things as supersofts are a crapshoot to obtain, and a little hard on the budget some months. And very nice work on that mod. A real stunner she is!

I've heard they are a pretty solid mod.Someone on here bought a reaper, which is just slightly bigger than the venom.I spoke with the company owner on Facebook and he was very helpful and nice. They sell them on eBay also,so I would probably order from there,as they are ten dollars cheaper than the website and free shipping. And if you order from there website you have to pay tax as they are in Pennsylvania.I'm going to be getting one someday, maybe next month,as health and car repairs have strapped me for this month.

Not a problem @Zaxxaz I still have your address on file from when you bought a mod. So I will get some tubing and orings in the mail to you asap. Unless you want it sent to a different address. If so PM me with that one. Thanks for the compliment,

made it around to getting a build in the firefly....
First impressions are "meh", OK vapor and airflow, good flavor though, I just need to play with the build and coil position.
Quality is good though the ultem cap feels light and chinsy, that could just be the nature of the stuff though, this is my first ultem cap.
O-rings are smooth even dry, I hope the cap doesn't turn into a loose mess when they get a little lubed up but it's nice to not have to wrench on the cap when you need to adjust or remove.
Airflow is positioned sort of funky for the way I have this build in so I'm sure that has something to do with the lackluster experience I'm having.
The wells are deep and the wicking needs to be just right or else it's easy to over squonk. The air holes being level with the top of the juice we'll mean that flooding = a bad time.
I'll play with it more later, run a bottle through and play with the airflow & build.

It's a mental design, with the air coming up somewhere you can only put a coil if you build it with one short leg and one long leg - but that's how I'd build it. Duals, off-center so each coil is "kind of" over an airway. Not sure how the hell I'd wick that though...
Still have a clone in cart but it may also drop out, even at $10, lol.
