After seeing that Smok TFV4 my wallet regrets coming to this thread..... going to try and resist.
Got my first sub ohm tank just 3 months ago, the Arctic and wow was I impressed. The only thing that I didn't like was how it went through juice, the bacon lips if I was chain vaping and how inconvenient it was to take on the road as I would run dry if I had to go more than 30 minutes away.
A friend of mine was raving about his Kanger Sub tank and since they had the Plus V2 version out with 7 mils capacity I decided to pick one up to use on the road. Was pretty disappointed at first as I couldn't go higher than around 17 watts if I was chain vaping without getting nasty dry hits. I found a video on youtube to alleviate the dry hits problem and it really helped the situation, still doesn't chuck like the Arctic but it was satisfying. Here is the youtube video I used in case anyone else is having a problem with dry hits:
Oh silly me when I thought I was done buying anymore sub tanks. Saw the deal on vapor joe's blog about the deal Yeti vapes was having, OBS T-VCT top filling sub tank with juice control and 120 ml of juice for $40, the deal was too good to pass up since I already liked Yeti's juice line. The things that really attracted me to the OBS was not having to remove the tank from your device to fill it up. I also loved the juice control as I would get juice in my mouth with the Arctic if using 50/50 blends. The fact that the OBS is about 1/4" taller than the Arctic but holds twice the amount of juice was just icing on the cake.
The Arctic is best performer of the bunch if you want to chuck clouds and run at higher watts. For me the Arctic works best right around 30 watts with the .5 ohm coils, I can run higher watts but this sucker gets hot and I like to chain vape. The OBS can chuck some decent clouds at 30 watts but I actually prefer it at around 25 watts with .5 ohm coils. Even at 20 watts the OBS puts out some dense clouds, it definitely beats the Arctic in cloud production at 20 watts, the Arctic just likes to run hot. The Kanger is the least amount of cloud production of the bunch, I just took 3 drags at 30 watts and the last 1 was a little dry. I generally run the Kanger at 20 watts to prevent the dreaded dry hit.
Flavor wise there all pretty close, I would give the nod to the OBS though as I can still get dense clouds at 20 watts and the vape is cool. The Kanger does have good flavor as well, maybe a little better than the Arctic but then again I love running the Arctic hot, it is the hot rod of the bunch.
Overall the OBS is my favorite tank for the way I mostly vape. The filling is by far the easiest, it is a cool vape and the tip never gets more than just warm and aside from a little condensation I never get juice spit back if I am running hot. I have been running on the same coil for more than 3 weeks now with the OBS and no indication of it needing a change anytime soon. I went through 3 coils with the Arctic in the first month but that was mostly my fault as I like to run it hot and with how it burns though juice I suffered a lot of dry hits.
Both the Arctic and OBS are great tanks and they will both be in my rotation for awhile. The kanger is the tank I will take with me on the road when I am running out the door and can't remember were I left the OBS. The Kanger is a nice tank but compared to the other 2 it falls short.
Now I have to try and do a jedi mind trick on myself to forget about the Smok TFV4!
