That sucks, ordered a black and silver yesterday, thinking they would ship Wednesday, so would have by the weekend, guess not now, but I already do have 1 though :)
Same here. I was hoping to have it for the weekend. Still, it's just a delay. I'm only disappointed with the delay because I'm so excited to try out a new single coil RTA (so it comes from a good place).

My feelings about the FDA on the other hand... ┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐

I don't have that. Didn't have it when I opened it. I was sure to check cautiously for those when I first took it apart because I remembered someone mentioning an extra and wasn't sure where it belonged. To the spares bag!
I think you found the source of the over wicking problem. Without that o-ring the tank will not set a vacuum.

Damn! Friday for the Black Merlins to arrive at STS. That's a bummer, but not the fault of STS. The cool thing is I can learn a lot about the issues and successes of you SS version owners before I get my black one. Should be able to jump right on it after a quick wash and coil setup. Gonna go with a single fused clapton. Power mode. Not a fan of TC for some reason.

Huck, now I feel bad for you. I was kidding before, but I really hope you get things squared away. I know STS will make it right, I've dealt with them before and the customer service is stellar.
Looks like I'll get to play with the tank more than you. Buahahaha
I'm up and running, so have some of that!! Single coil still works just fine.

Petey just told me, "I'll be right back."

But, his green perch potato butt is still sitting on a perch watching TV :giggle:
Roxy dear, I know with all the excitement of us getting the best tank EVER!! In my humble opinion....some of us are still waiting for an announcement. When are we going to hear the good news?

OK, Merlin # damn I need to get my eyes checked
I KNOW right?! I had my glasses on and it's so shiny I had to find just the right lighting. I used rayon.
That's the one I was telling you to watch out for
It really wasn't there, I'm telling you! But since I had to take it apart for a photo, I did raise the coil some, re-wicked with more rayon than I had, found an extra o-ring to fit in my replacement parts as @Boden pointed out, and it's performing BEAUTIFULLY. No leaks, excellent flavor.

Happy Camper!!

@roxynoodle STS got back to me quickly and will be sending me a new base on Friday when their replacement parts come in. I took a photo for him so he could be reimbursed. I asked if he would like my base in return, he hasn't said, at this point.

Received mine today, # 61. Tried my first Clapton coil, didn't care fore it, flavor was muted for the way I vape.

Rebuilt with my normal, 8 wraps 28 ga, 2.5 ID, came out 1.8 ohms.

As a MTL vaper, closed the air flow most on the way and it is a flavourful vape.

Using 65/35 juice, with it closed half way. Full open it leaked. Might need a bit longer wick next time.

Didn't care for the included drip tip, leading to my only (minor) complaint. All of my normal tips are too long, and won't sit flush. Using my shortest and there is a slight gap. Two others were too large and wouldn't fit.

I'm sure I'm going to feel like a complete idiot once someone explains it to me, but I have to be missing something related to the juice flow control ring. In previous posts it was mentioned that it free spins...ummm, I'm clearly not getting it. I grab that knurled ring and all I manage is screwing or unscrewing the whole tank. Help! And preferably without pointing out how much of a moron I am.

14640484587671759785547.jpg Number 126 all setup and chugging away. Fused clapton 30gx2 with 38g wrap. SS wire, 2.5 mm ID at 0.29 ohms. It is too warm for my MTL liking, I have to work on that. Set on its side for 30 min., no leaks. Using 50/50 did juice HIC's apple pie & marzipan recipe.
Life is good. Thank you Roxy, you rock.

You're not a moron, LOL. I thought the same. It turns the chimney from what I can see. Close it, fill it, turn it to where you want it, then tighten the base. I hope I explained that correctly. My day has been a mess if that's wrong.... it's my excuse.

@kad, grab the top knurled ring and twist slowly. Don't feel bad, there's a learning curve. ....more of a straight line

I've been trying to figure that out for an hour, and it's keeping me from filling the tank. The only way I can change the juice flow is literally by changing how tightly the tank is screwed on.

To fill, Hold on to the glass part and or bottom ring and unscrew the top. Make sure the juice control is closed or it will pee allover you!

On mine I have to hold the AFC ring to tighten and loosen the 510 connection. The slotted ring above the AFC moves the JFC.

That is exactly how I expected it to work, but that ring does not move on mine.

Quick update, i pulled out the 2.5 mm coil, replaced it with fused clapton 30gSSx2 and 38gSS wrap. 7 wraps? 3.0mm ID at 0.6 ohms. It is better, next up will try 3.5 mm coil. Why> Because I can! I have plenty of room.:confetti::stars2::hearts:

OK, try this.... hold just the base, not the knurled part. Twist the tank part, right or left. Does that work?
Yes, but that was kinda my point. By twisting the tank, I am literally slightly unscrewing the chimney from the base in order to open the juice flow. That doesn't seem right to me. But if it is, then that's fine, and I feel like an idiot for not getting it. I'm just afraid to fill it until I know.

Following in your steps, on my second coil I left the wick tails juuust a little longer, they can be seen halfway thru the juice holes. No more dry-ish hits like I had with the first coil. I'm using scottish roll wicking. Air flow open to less than 1/4, it is acceptable.

Meanwhile, while I try to figure out if I'm a dork or if this really is how it works, I have been vaping it, just with barely any juice in case it leaks on me from not being tightened down completely. Flavor is great, and more clouds than I would expect from this build. .86ohm, 8 wraps 2.5mm 26 gage, so far 16 watts, but still going up, haven't yet dialed in the sweet spot but I think it will be a bit higher than I'm at right now.
