I only use internet and free over the air TV for the past couple of years or so.
The old 57 channels and nothing on is often true.
Why pay $50/mo or more for that?
Dude, I used to work at an earth station running several cable and satellite TV channels.
If you keep track you'll notice that most cable programming consists of eight hours of programming
repeated thrice. Of those eight hours 25% (give or take) or a whopping two hours are commercials.
Moreover since the advent of over the air digital broadcasting most of the television shows received via an antenna
are of higher video quality (HD) than cable or Uverse which aren't even DVD quality let alone HD.
Satellite and cable TV are only a convenience for areas where the weather causes interference
or for people who like to watch smut on TV
Now-a-days given android TV boxes and quality internet streaming cable and satellite TV are indeed a waste of money
