I might be getting too much attention from my cats this morning. I have already been swatted on the ass by Cream Puff, Screamer is stretching up and almost climbing up me to be picked up (he hugs like a human), and the coming up and rubbing face while I try to read anything on the computer. Fireball was meowing and even stretched up for a hug and she doesn't usually like to be picked up. Something is definitely up today.
Are anyone else's cats very needy?
Yes. Bosco is. He's my ginger kitty. Penny is a lap kitty in the cold months (when we have those, lol). I have a magical lap blanket that seems to have come with a female tabby When I have that on me, Penny comes out from whichever snoozin' spot she's chosen for the week, and snuggles in. That's my heaven. Otherwise, she's a loner. Are anyone else's cats very needy?
All my cats love to get petted or to chill on a lap from time to time, but not to be picked up. I have 2 males that will actually bite me on the leg to let me know they want to get picked up. Smokey is the worst at that. He makes a strange sound (sounds like one of those noisemakers that is a cylinder shape that one turns over to hear a funny farty, moany sound). If that doesn't work, he will nip gently until he feels the need to bite steadily harder. Hard to ignore even if I am busy. He is also the only one that likes to be held tummy up like a human baby. lolTuxie is never very touchy, not a lap kitty AT ALL... The most she'll do (with me) is walk back and forth under my chair, to make sure each side gets petted equally. But, in fact, she's curled up in the knee-well of my desk right now, on the square of foam rubber I keep under there to keep my feet off the cold floor. She's really a Daddy's Girl... she'll jump up on his desk and lay right across his keyboard when she feels neglected. She's never jumped on my desk, for the simple reason that there is no place to land -- it's too crowded with this, that, and the other thing, all in a heap.

All 5 of my cats are just feral rescues(mutts) from the same colony. Smokie's mother was tabby colored like Fireball and Screamer, and his dad was grey with that skinny siamese head and body shape. I had originally caught him for the neighbor who thought they wanted that cute little feral baby, but turns out that gaining a feral kitten's trust is not the instant gratification that most people want in a pet. Smokey chose my young daughter as a friend when I went to the neighbor's house to asses the "vicious cat" situation. Apparently, some people just don't understand how to respect an animals feelings. lolYes. Bosco is. He's my ginger kitty. Penny is a lap kitty in the cold months (when we have those, lol). Hey, is your Smokey a Russian Blue? I had one years ago that looks much like your Smokey.
LOL!! Certainly sounds like a Russian Blue. Both my kittehs are mutts, too. Sweet as can be, but total opposite personalities when it comes to humans. All 5 of my cats are just feral rescues(mutts) from the same colony. Smokey helped to raise his younger nieces and nephews. Saved me a lot of trouble so I didn't have to stimulate the kitten's bowels and such as I bottle fed them. The best uncle ever!

Good one!
Around here, it's the time of year. The last couple blizzards have made it nasty white outside. It is currently only 7 degrees F and the wind is doing about 35mph and the cats want out, but when you open the door, they won't go, so they now have cabin fever and if they can't go out to play, they are either going to create havoc in the house or get in a lap and demand lovin'.Are anyone else's cats very needy?
