Late-night TV watching Pastrami sandwich...mmmm.

IMG_6245.jpg

IMG_6247.jpg

It's some delicious WinCo Deli Pastrami, 12-grain bread, red lettuce, pepper-jack cheese, a swipe of mayo, and some old Amish Sauerkraut that I'd re-brined and spiced up a bit. (sorry Amish peeps, you make great kraut, but you're bland.)

Friggin' good stuff. 😋🥪

After tonights dinner my misses said "some dessert?"
Im "what dessert?"
When I went down into town she sneakily made this.
An apple cake with Flavour Art Premium custard, chocolate custard from Molinberry, local grown red plums with Flavour Art Jack! Whoah!!!!!!
It was a mad crazy great flavour combo I would never have guessed.
Utterly delicious....
If I had heard this combo and not eaten or tried it id think "nuts".
It was amazing! I think im married to the mad scientist wife of cooking... :giggle:

Salisbury steak with browned onion, Colby cheese, and a scrambled egg on The Rustik Oven™ Sourdough.

Awesome bread this is, I had spread it with just a bit of Hellman's mayo mixed with prepared horseradish, crushed garlic, sea salt w/ cayenne, and fresh-ground pepper.

Cheesesteak pizza for NASCAR watching. :D

Meat is top-round London Broil that I'd chopped into appropriate chunks and marinated overnight.
Crust is a pre-made, but made in a wood-fired oven in Italy.

The rest ya can figure out, eh?

Since my Sweetie was under Self Quarantine because of possible exposure to someone with Covid-19 she missed Valentines Day Dinner. So today was her Birthday and when I asked what she wanted for dinner she said My Valentines Sirloin Burgers. Easy job for me.

Yeah I heard you guys love your steaks. I do too but my misses only likes them cut up and put into things. Hence she although a good cook is a lousy steak cooker. I cook my own.
I met a guy here once from New Mexico and we had a bbq at our place. After offering him Lamb chops I found out how much beef steaks rule in the US.
Him "Oh man, Lamb!?" Lamb!? Oh no we are Steak People where we come from, LAMB!"
Me "So....you dont want a lamb chop then?" :giggle:
True story. Great guy.

Yes, it's from AU....

Meat and cheese, what is not to like? :D

Also, got stuff to make a lovely slow-cooker stew...Mirepoix, beef, etc..

My misses usually makes a sort of savoury meatloaf with ground lamb. I like it in a stew.
I love lamb chops but she doesn't. I think she suffers pet lamb trauma. When she was a kid they had a pet lamb. One day the mother killed it and cooked it. She reckons at the dinner table they all just looked at it and couldnt eat it and threw it in the bin then got out the salami and cheese (they're Italian)

Ya, I rarely eat actual steaks, I got bad teeth and etc.

But I do love a slow cooker roast or smaller bits like in burritos or brekky stuff. And sandwiches, stews, pasta, all that. :)

I'd made up this Chorizo/white bean/potato/chilies/eggs stuff up for EZ brekky bruritos a while back, it's a real saver when it's like 4am and do not want to be cooking...lol

Make up a batch, eat for days. 🤤

Dad brought me some nice Onion buns, so I made this Pastrami Cheeseburger w/ Browned Onion.
  • The onion buns, spread with scant mayo & Grey Poupon
  • Approx 1/3lb of 85/15 ground beef, seasoned and marinated in the fridge.
  • Browned onions
  • Beef Pastrami
  • American cheese
  • Red lettuce

YOU DO LIKE JULIA... yep have er books. View attachment 178580
da ol double dredge..
no wonder it looks so good.

I do what I do and nothing to do with Julia~! Not sure where I got the recipe from but I do it to everything I fry. Although this is Oven Baked it is yummy. When I go to make something I look online for a recipe but do not follow it to the letter.

Leftovers Breakfast Yummers!

Just going through stuff and put this together, came out delish. :D

* My Habanero/Bacon cornbread, topped with cheese.
* That Chorizo/Bean/Potato/Eggs brekky hash I'd made, along with some mixed veggies. Topped with beef gravy.

P1040956.JPG

Was very tasty on a cold wet day.

Also, look how freekin' thin I can slice Cheddar with that new Utility knife. o_O
