Room cleaned, chores done, bed remade (apparently I was tossing a lot last night as the fitted sheets were barely clinging on to one corner!). Now time for some tea and the contemplation of what to eat for breakfast. I like saturdays.

The loss of Chris, Keith, Jon Entwistle - gosh, what a shame.

RIP, Keith; Chris; Jon, Bob - all of those we've lost. Their music moved us; their lyrics, made us dream - and, shaped our lives between the 60s and 70s.

But when did Squire die? I hadn't heard anything about that at all. I guess that means no more Yes, since he was the one who had the big hissyfit about if he's not in the band, it's not Yes. That breaks my heart completely; Yes is probably my most favorite progressive rock ever.

I saw them in 2004 and 2005; the venue in 2004 wasn't great, it's in a public park surrounded by a lot of rich people's homes (Chastain Park/amphitheater), and it has an 85 dB limit, so you could barely hear them -- but I was so blissed out by the entire experience, the group consciousness of a bunch of Yes fans is just delicious -- and after a godawful hot day (August in Atlanta!), it sprinkled just a bit right at dusk, as they were taking the stage... and right over the stage, there was a rainbow. It was amazing. They opened with Close to the Edge, and it truly was.

Andria

ETA: at this remove, I'm a little foggy on the actual years -- it might have been 2003 and 2004, and the 2003 show was the bad venue -- it was the Magnification tour. The next year they returned to Atlanta, but at the Lakewood Amphitheater, a MUCH better venue, and they also had Wakeman on that tour -- it was like time-travelling back to 1971, my husband said (he was there at one of their shows in '71!).

Chris Squire was the only plectrum (playing using a pick) bassist that had MONSTER tone; his bassline in 'Roundabout' was stellar.

Keith Emerson and ELP were one of the first bands that featured analog synthesizers as key parts of their musical arrangements.

The Beatles snuck synthesizers in '68-'70; the problem with the early ones was getting them to stay in tune; heat, cold and humidity changes made them unstable pitchwise.

Robert Moog (of Moog Synthesizers) and the techs at ARP Synthesizers in Newton, MA (MIT guys) came up with the first 'auto tune' feature. While they went through the tuning sequence...

...you couldn't play them.

DRAT!

The loss of Chris, Keith, Jon Entwistle - gosh, what a shame.

Four years ago, Bob Welch passed. His version of "Sentimental Lady" (which was first performed by Fleetwood Mac, with Bob Welch in the band) can still make me cry...

Time for a mood elevator :(

The music of the 60's and 70's is the best of music IMO:) it was a shame to see it change.:)

Howdy Corner folk.

@BigNasty, I saw that video of Ramsey's. I make my eggs a lot like that, but I use sour cream for the richness. Spices, green and red peppers... quite yum.

On a sidenote, is anyone watching the SEC tournament, or attempting to? Trying to find out if this is a widespread outage or local.

Hi Jimi Tau and Whiskey!

Thanks Jimi. Are you on Comcast? Time Warner here and they frustrate me to no end.

Anyone else have Time Warner? Can you tell me if the SEC tournament is showing where you are? One of the ESPN stations.

Yes Comcast believe me it's not much better. It's time change tonight I wish they would just leave it at daylight savings time:D

I wish they'd just leave it standard -- I hate trying to get my mind ready for cooking dinner when it still looks like mid-afternoon!

And there's other non legal links if you go searching for them, but always a little skeptical about those, and sometimes you end up watching the canadian coverage like I did for the NFC/AFC championships this year :D

This will be the last resort and toss it up with Chromecast. Cable company is eating up my time right now. Oh joy.

Key is to yell and be an ass, or so I've learned, it gets you to someone who can actually do something usually, or at least some kind of coupons. It's so not me though, but I put on a show when I know they're doing the same thing (acting like it's acceptable service).

Ended up with a credit :D

Huck who are you for in that game, do you need a score?:)
UK - GO BIG BLUE!!! Thanks, but ended up tossing it up from ESPN website. As long as the internet doesn't also get messed up, it's a very clear feed. Seems they're getting bombarded with phone calls, LOL.

It was awesome! They wanted to make my employee badge right then and there. No talk of money yet though,, waiting on HR for that. Current employer is mad scrambling though, I can tell you! There's a nice raise in the works for us at current employer but I told my boss.... With every day (or night I should say) that I work here under these conditions it becomes less and less about the money. It's gonna be an interesting week, fer sure. Should get my offer on Monday.

No Hank, I haven't. I'm very torn about it. It's a big deal to go from a 3 second drive to work to a 40 minute drive to work. In the snow. It's handy for me here. But there are issues here that I complain about repeatedly and nobody listens. Maybe they'll listen now

I should have those LorAnn flavors I ordered from BCV by Monday; they left Raleigh at 2:30am this morning. Then I can try some new recipes! Yay! :)
