This stupid law GA passed back in late 2011 or 2012, from now on, to get your DL renewed, you have to show certified proof of identity -- a certified copy of a birth certificate or a passport; SS card; and 2 utility bills with your name and address on them. fuckers. Plus the normal cost of the DL, which is some ungodly $20 or some shit now. I remember when they were $4!!!!!

Had to do that a few weeks ago too, luckily it only took like 10 minutes, I was expecting to wait a few hours. Had to get a Passport to go to Canada, honestly I should just get my citizenship and get dual passports so I can be a spy! (Dad's whole family is Canadian, Mom's USA). Wish I could afford to live in Vancouver, that place is so beautiful.

Same price as CA, I had to drop an extra $70 for expedited service on the passport, ended up spending $250 overall to get a passport for a flight that cost me $225 including baggage. Honestly though still far better than I expected, but the Passport surprised me.

Well I guess I should be glad that a 55 yr old birth certificate is still findable. I've had a photocopy of my "registration of birth" for years, but it's about to fall apart, so I reckon having a certified copy for our personal records is a good thing. but still... $25!!!! That's fucking robbery!

I mean it's a "hall of records" why can't one hand talk to another? either way, My mom had my brother's certificates but all she had for me was some fancy church one for me but nothing official. Now I got it though and you bet I'll be holding onto that.

In a way, it's almost like a poll tax; not only do you have to pay the outrageous fee for the DL, you also have to pay the outrageous fee to prove you are who you say you are, just for the privilege of paying that outrageous DL fee.
