I can't tell you how much your story inspired me to clean up my act for good
My doctor told me I had to give up carbs and a few other things when my RA began attacking my liver - I kicked, screamed and whined A LOT. But feebly - because I was in a sorry ass state

I'm doing strict low carb/keto like diet. I'm even making my own home made gelatin (jello). It's hard but I'm doing it to detox my fatty liver/and Autoimmune liver disease. I have to incorporate my dietary needs with DH because he has CAD and so on. I keep my carbs 20-30 max. Sometimes, I don't reach my goals. It's cool because this old phart ? (who me) is still learning.
Oh, orientation went well. Had to do the "using hand" to "punch in". I'm use to using my index finger or thumb. Start first day Friday pm shift. It appears that every single person who works there is home grown and tightly knit. Which means the new kid has to be careful.

Lost Art Of Bending Over: How Other Cultures Spare Their Spines
Intersting, been trying to do this since yesterday morning - it is helping my back a lot in the last 36 hours
It's kinda tricky if you are used to bending at the waist - and I see now when I used to "lift with my legs" I was still doing it wrong, lol
