Our "unaffiliated" Governor who is still a registered Republican is attempting to institute a 100% tax on the wholesale price of all vape gear.

People who live in states with vape-related taxes should be aware: If the deeming regs stand as published, states will be able to collect the state vape tax from out-of-state online purchases under the federal Jenkins Act - which is how they are able to collect local taxes on out-of-state online purchases of actual tobacco.

damn! Sounds like they're getting really desperate to save the tobacco sales. Next will be a lowering of taxes on cigarettes.

Thank goodness I live in a fairly vape-friendly state that has made a legal distinction between the two. It's a travesty (and a crime against society) that the FDA and so many state governments are so eager to keep people smoking. First the FDA tried to blockade all imports of vaping items. When that failed, they decided to try this current bullshit.

Incidentally they put zero additional taxes on Tobacco, only vape so you know the motivation.

People kicking the Tobacco addiction is threatening their revenue stream. Their priority is to get people back on Tobacco.

Hey believe what you want. It's a proven fact that the Democrats are not friends of vaping. They are all in when it comes to the Nanny State. You can cling to your foolish beliefs but that doesn't mean they are not coming for you and your vape gear. It really makes me laugh how people are so willing to lay down their freedom just so they can still believe in a broken ideology. Venezuela here we come.

Not with the excessive taxes and regulations, they're out to destroy vaping to protect tobacco sales

Exactly right. The Democrats don't want to make money taxing vape related products. They want to destroy vaping as we know it and hand it over to BT and BP. That's their ultimate goal.

Of course not ... I know of no other product taxed as heavily as cigarettes while also providing a cut of the profits to government .

Pretty nice deal if you can get it and have no qualms with your soul burning in hell for all the needless suffering you have helped to enable.

Oh yeah just a little note PA has a Democrat as Governor.
Be that as it may, both houses of the state legislature have strong Republican majorities (the Senate 31:19, the House 119:84) yet they are the ones who passed this abomination and put it on Wolf's desk for signature. Of course, Wolf has never seen a tax increase he didn't like, so there was never a question that he'd sign it.

Bad news for all vapers - especially Trump supporters.
He picked Indiana governor as his VP

I'm not a PA resident nor am I familiar with the states local politics. If that is the case, then I'm willing to say what most Democrats are not. Vote the bastards out and cross party lines if you have to. If they don't support vaping shoe them the door.

It's roughly 3 weeks until August 8th.

And I hate to contradict the site's owner/founder, but: If you aren't stocked up with at least a decade's worth of essentials...

I SUGGEST YOU PANIC.
Could you elaborate on the last statement? Why the panic?

Look around, see what's happening. As of August 8th, everything we use is officially a "tobacco product". Shops will have to get tobacco licenses, be subject to zoning requirements for tobacco shops, and register with the FDA as manufacturers if they mix liquids or wrap coils. States are going to restrict or tax vape goods in an attempt to compensate for lost tobacco tax and MSA revenue. How long until your favorite vendor says, "Screw it, this is more of a hassle than it's worth"?

Stockpile now, while stuff is cheap and readily available, or be prepared (at a minimum) to pay more later.

Look at Indiana (really bad), California, Arkansas, and Utah.

I went to a vape website out of Utah yesterday. Big popup: We can no longer sell Utah residents vape gear online!

Exactly. Now add PA to the above list. Then ask where will this madness spread next. My guess is the spread will be exponential once the FDA regs are in effect, making it all a tobacco product.

I wish I could stockpile. However, I cannot work due a health issue. I plan on returning to the work scene after I do therapy. So I'm not financially able to hoard at this time. I did buy a few kayfuns 5 and 3. I didn't stock up on cotton or wire. I diy and have a couple of liters in the freezer. I plan on going zero really soon. I do mix for for my bro but I have him down to 3mg. When the nic is gone it's gone.I will not continue with nic. If I need a boost I'll pop some gum. IDK if I want to be vaping forever. I might take up a different hobby as a diversion. I do have a plan. I don't plan on vaping to own me.

I hope that we can work toward changing this without all the partisan slant. Pennsylvania shows that there is generally bipartisan support for crippling vape taxation which is effectively a ban. Mike Pence is the only one in the national contest to sign into law an extreme restriction on vaping. All politicians are potential enemies of vaping and need our attention.

Time to stop the partisan banter and work together if we are going to have a chance. Contacting and educating members of both parties is critical.

DIY experience, a couple of liters of base in the freezer, and using rebuildable atties puts you in a far better position than the average person. I'm not expecting any real problem getting wicking material or wire.

I know that I *do* want to be vaping forever. I'm sure as hell not gonna give it up or pay outrageous prices in a few years to satisfy the whims of politicians.

I hear what you're saying but truth be told that's just a false narrative. I am in no way saying that the Republicans are the best friends of vaping. In fact I despise most politicians in general but if you do the research you will see clearly that the anti vaping politicians are overwhelmingly Democrats. Republicans in genreal are for less regulation and government control across the board. While I am not thrilled about Trump possibly going with Pence he still is the only candidate to date that has said he will reign in the IRS, FDA, and EPA. We may not know where Trump stands on vaping but we definitely know where the majority of Democrats stand on this issue. My point is if vaping is important to you find out where your local politicians stand and let them know that you vape and you vote and more importantly you are willing to cross party lines over this one issue. Because after all, as we all know poltics starts at the local level.

I believe our best hope though is on the legal front from the lawsuits an injunction, without that everyone is really screwed. But the real threats are coming from the States and every advocacy group needs to be aware and prepared to file lawsuits with intent to get an injunction for any pending legislation in their prospective State.

Basically all Vape Business's, retailers, suppliers, manufacturer's, etc. need stop focusing on Cloud Comp's, give away's, etc. YOUR JOBS, BUSINESS'S AND CAREERS ARE ON THE LINE! They need to get a clue and wake up!

Why is it that every B&M I walk into there are no hand out's, posters or even talk about the shit coming down?

@ro55co I have to respectfully disagree. You can't win a fight against the entity that actually makes the rules. That's why every advocacy group has failed miserably at every turn.

FWIW, the vaping companies in Okla successfully fought strict laws at the state level, so it can be done. All the big players (e.g. big tobacco, American Cancer Society, American Heart Assoc) were trying to get strict laws passed. RJ Reynolds even helped write a bill for Okla in 2012 that would have legally defined it as tobacco, bringing with it cigarette-like taxes, tobacco style licensing, etc. Thankfully the state legislators listened to their constituents and kept things sensible.

Really man, you have to go back to 2012 to reference a win? Do you know how much vaping has changed since 2012? There are millions of more people vaping since 2012. The game has changed significantly since then. Millions of more tax dollars are available since then. Like I have said before if you want to win this fight you have to change the rules. To change the rules you have to elect people that are pro business, anti regulation, and pro vaping. Since all this nonsense started the advocacy groups have as many court wins as I do. A big fat 0. They have the same result as I do and I never filed a lawsuit. It's fucking laughable. They talk about organization. Go to 10 vape shops in your area and mention August 8th. I'll bet dollars to donuts over half the shops don't know what the hell August 8th is. I guess the advocacy groups are just doing a bang up job getting the word out. When I was at Vape Northeast there was some advocacy groups there. They sat on their ass and waited for people to come to them. The table was empty all day. They had literally thousands of vapers walking right by and they didn't say a word. Yet every youtube reviewer gives a 2 to 3 minute phony speech on how we should donate to the cause. Lmfao.

Trump is such a Stool Sample, but then again Hillary is the definition of corruption. But then Hillary has been anointed by the powers (Wall Street, global Banking, Energy, etc.) to assume the throne and the fix was in well before campaigns even started.

Anyway lets not forget the other Stool Sample that Trump the Chump picked for his running mate was the one who signed into law that corrupt legislation in Indiana.

Pick your poison wisely!
I'm voting for neither, I'm going with the Libertarian Candidate Gary Johnson. Oh I hear you're wasting you vote, bullshit. Wasting your Vote is voting for who they tell you you have to vote for. There actually at the core is no difference between the two parties, they're both bought and paid for by the international cartels. Oh yeah they throw a few crumbs out as distractions to keep the peasants fighting each other as a distraction. But at the core and their ultimate goals are the same, control and manipulation of the Herd in order to keep the 0.0001% in control.

Honestly, I think the only reason Trump has made it as far as he has is because a lot of folks are tired of politics as usual. I know I am. I wish there were different options but effectively, you have Hiltery or you have Trump to choose from. I don't see voting Libertarian achieving anything other than the ability to say you didn't vote for either of the other candidates.

That's the problem, people think they "have" to vote either vote Dem or Repub. They have the general public well trained.

Sooo fucking stupid. Everyone says she needs the Bernie people. So what does she do? She hires the bitch that tried to fuck him out of the nomination. You really can't make this shit up.
