I have mixed feelings on that. The masses are going to vote for whoever promises the biggest handouts, rather than voting for the one best suited for protecting the future of the country. The electoral college is *supposed* to be such that they can go with the popular vote or vote their conscious and prevent someone like Hillary from getting the position. Now, though, we have so much corruption (at all levels) that it is destroying everything the founding fathers envisioned. They need to get the hell rid of the electoral college. There's no reason people can't direct vote and it's really the way it should be. I call bullshit on the notion it would take too much work, they can't count 330m individual votes (far less when you count who actually votes) every 4 years? Funny they have no issue digging through and requiring taxes from everyone EVERY year. Just look how well things work when it benefits government.
I think the nation's like any family. Can't go keeping all that rage bottled up, raises the blood pressure and causes nervous ticks trying to 'be nice'. Yank the bandaid off and tell each other how we really feel, brutal honesty. Bring on the purge! lol
Main two parties in the U.S. are Republican and Democrat. Those two parties are recognized by every state in the union. There are other parties, but not every state recognizes them, and thus they don't appear on the ballot in every state. The other semi-major parties: green party (very similar to UK's green party), libertarian party, constitution party. And, there's dozens of minor parties scattered around the country.Where I live, most people did vote on Brexit depending on left or right views, and my area also had the highest amount of leave votes in the UK.
In all honesty I am not well versed in politics, and I was looking at things as black and white, that liberal was left, republican right.
I did not realise Liberal was Anti-freedom , if so that does not sound good.
I think if people are genuinely voting for trump for reasons such as being male, or rich, these are not good reasons to vote for him-but that is my opinion, I guess to some people that may be important.
It is likely I will learn more about each candidate on this thread than I would from the media over here lol.
So, are the main candidates Republican and Democrat? Are there other parties than these? I really don't know much as I said, and is there areas that are in general republican, others democrat, depending on the demographic of the area?
Sorry to ask, but this has me a bit baffled lol, how exactly do you vote in the USA? Over here we go to a place that has been chosen as a polling station, get given a piece of paper with names on, choose who we want, then put it in a box. They need to get the hell rid of the electoral college. oh hells no...we would hear the state approved media that is owned by the DNC and Hilary...what we need is a ministry oif truth like Obama suggested that way we can destroy any dissenting views and regulate information, and trust the goverment to make sure we dont pick up any "dangerous" thoughts... so the rabble dont get any ideas.....free market place of ideas, speech and thought is what we need not the villifing of alternative voices.Well if they did that we wouldn't hear the bs any more.
I do get the news and info on government bs from other sources beside Alex Jones. I don't listen to the shifted approved media I know what their agenda is.oh hells no...we would hear the state approved media that is owned by the DNC and Hilary...what we need is a ministry oif truth like Obama suggested that way we can destroy any dissenting views and regulate information, and trust the goverment to make sure we dont pick up any "dangerous" thoughts... so the rabble dont get any ideas.....free market place of ideas, speech and thought is what we need not the villifing of alternative voices.

I am for a Constitutionalist, to defend and fight for the Constitution. I am Not for a Socialist, Communists, Facist, Anarchy Totalitarian government. I believe that ALL have Freedom not just the selected elite ones that think they can control everyone and kill off, shut up and lie about the ones that get in their way.
Maybe I should have said I don't always agree with Alex Jones.
For the presidental election, we have what's called the electoral college. It's a group of people that decides who wins the election. They can go by the populous vote OR can vote their conscious and vote for whomever they please.Sorry to ask, but this has me a bit baffled lol, how exactly do you vote in the USA? Over here we go to a place that has been chosen as a polling station, get given a piece of paper with names on, choose who we want, then put it in a box.
After this, all votes get counted from each area then are put together to decide the winner, are they trying to say that it would take too much work to do in the USA? I understand it is much, much bigger than the UK, but if it was the same and split into smaller areas and each area counts their votes, surely it would be possible to directly vote? It seems a bit strange if they are saying they can't do this.
its completely fucked up and a marionette. For the presidental election, we have what's called the electoral college. It's a group of people that decides who wins the election. They can go by the populous vote OR can vote their conscious and vote for whomever they please.
That being said, some states do reserve the right to impose penalties (some are civil penalties some are criminal penalties) on the members of the electoral college if they vote differently than the popular vote.
The idea is that it provides one last check to help protect the country. A pretty good explanation of it is at http://www.factcheck.org/2008/02/the-reason-for-the-electoral-college/
We have a similar procedure for determining who will be the candidate for the republican and democrat parties. The ones who actually decide who gets the nomination are the party delegates.
The delegate system is part of how Hillary got the nomination instead of Bernie Sanders. Bernie was winning the popular vote in many areas and stood a good chance of getting the nomination, but Hillary had all of the super delegates (delegates that are free to vote as they please) committed to voting for her.
The dem party delegate system is slightly different than the repub party delegate system, with the dems having delegates bound to popular vote & super delegates that aren't bound. The repub party doesn't have super delegates, per say (it technically does have a few but they're bound to the popular vote).

The rural areas tends to be republican (since the ppl and the party are both conservative) and the areas with big cities tend to be Democratic (partly because of the large impoverished populations in big cities and the dem party tends to promise more hand outs).
Together, the republican and democrat parties control this country. If you're a politician and want to get elected, you pretty much have to be tied to one of the two, but that may be changing as more and more people wake up to the fact that they're just different sides of the same evil coin and neither party really cares about the commoner.
Liberals and conservatives both tend to be anti-freedom, in their own ways. The libs think spying on the population is just fine, after all, you don't have anything to worry about if you're not doing anything wrong
Thanks. I read it was out and was about to go look for it.Part three
No the Democrats were the party of the south and slavery...... many became republican bringing there bigotry with them .. so they could get elected after the war........ this switching party is also the root of Republicans are RACIST..... BECAUSE THE EX SLAVER DEMS THATS BECAME REPUBLICANS WERE AND ARE STILL RACISTS. Not all of whom are white. Imo... the most racist people in America tend to be black liberal politicians.Interesting that rural areas, especially in the south, used to be predominantly democrat.
I think the changeover to republican is due to religious differences. The Bible belt continues to be
opposed to abortion, gay marriage, and other social amenities the left now champions.
Liberals generally support social freedom and libertinage but not individual liberty
conservatives are usually social and fiscal conservatives but support individual liberty
but both as represented by the Democratic and Republican Party government bureaucracy
have no issues with spying on the population or engaging in social engineering
and mandatory behavior modification.
Most Republicans still at least give lip service to the Constitution
but Democrats only care about the Bill of Rights when it will keep them out of jail.
You have my vote.hell no man, F1r3b1rd for president.
would be better than president comacho

I disagree. I think you fail to understand the real reasons for the civil war,No the Democrats were the party of the south and slavery...... many became republican bringing there bigotry with them .. so they could get elected after the war........ this switching party is also the root of Republicans are RACIST..... I think that is an accepted narritive among the DNC propoganda and I think its bullshit...you may want to go check out Dinesh D'souzas film on Hilary and the DNC or listen to him talk about the change in the voting patterens in the south....You have to remember Martin Luther KIng was a registered republican. No the Democrats were the party of the south and slavery...... many became republican bringing there bigotry with them .. so they could get elected after the war........ this switching party is also the root of Republicans are RACIST..... George Bernard Shaw, "Back to Methuselah" (1921), part 1, act 1
Often mistakenly attributed to Robert Kennedy and/or John F. Kennedy. It was used by John in 1963 (June 28th), during his visit to Ireland, in his address to the Irish Dail (Government): "George Bernard Shaw, speaking as an Irishman, summed up an approach to life, 'Other people, he said, see things and say why? But I dream things that never were and I say, why not?"
...because why not?![]()

Nah man, I'm down with the algorithm
In the 1980s and 1990s, he promoted legislation that funded an expansion of the ARPANET, allowing greater public access, and helping to develop the Internet.
Being a politician he took credit, jokingly, about having created the inet,
but he actually is partly responsible for the military/scientific net's expansion and development
into what it is.
Mr. Gore isn't a bad guy, actually. He's a tree hugger and a good old boy.
Unfortunately he's a Democrat.
