Its nice the Flavour West with some Flavour Art Marshmallow. Like a black jellybean taste.
But with the cooler it was as vile as a sardine milkshake.

I once got some John West sardines and as I used to like eating them out of the tin I got one out and bit into it. Was raw! How they skipped the cooking process has me beat but it was horrid and I have never purchased John West anything since. I dont eat sardines now at all though after hearing about the micro plastics in them.
So the milkshakes are off the menu :giggle:

I cleaned and rewicked what had to have been the nastiest RTA ever seen by any human.

I'd been vaping this thing - don't know how I'm still alive.

I've been rewicking a lot lately, and thank god I did this one.....finally.
Couldn’t have tasted worse than my Profile a couple nights ago. I grilled a steak and sat watching the tube while eating. My mod was next to me on the coffee table. After eating I started hitting the Mod again and my Vape tasted like the CranAplle and A1 sauce. I figured it was because I just finished eating but this went on for about an hour. I pulled the top cap and sure as shit you could see a little A1 and a small piece of steak or mushroom on my mesh. How that fuckin happened I’ll never know. Just know steak and A1 does not make for a good tasting juice

Jeez, that really made me laugh out loud! What a freaky thing to happen! I'm with you, though; don't believe I want cranapple, steak, and A1 all mixed together. Oh that's funny!!!!

The processors can also be overclocked (made to run faster than factory set) so yes the heat from those and the graphics cards and the power supply require liquid cooling on the crazier builds. I haven't built anything like those (yet) but have done some simplier builds.

Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk
That's the thing though. Especially seeing the results from the Threadripper 3990x...

Before liquid cooling, idle Temps were sitting at the 53-60C range. When the down-ramp (core slow-down) temp is 95C... in my humble opinion, anything above 50C is just too hot.

As for the GPU, yeah she was pretty warm as well. Not as warm as the CPU though. So I stripped the board down, covered the VRM on the board and the CPU with a monoblock.

I opted for dual radiators to keep the liquid as cold as I can get it before returning it to the pump where it will obviously get hot as it moved through the pump, to the GPU, then to the CPU, and back to RAD1, then to RAD2, then to the reservoir.

I set up a Hellbeast RDA today for the first time. I've never used 3x27/37ga aliens on a mech mod but those rock. They came out to .12Ω and just seem really efficient. The fire fast and cool down pretty quick too. I was using beefier fraliens and those kept cooking after I was done taking a drag..

I'm pretty impressed with the Hellbeast RDA. Besides wrapping my coils like a weirdo it was really easy to set up and get going. People have posted this all over forums but it's true: the airflow is really good. It's smooth and makes me want to keep hitting it. The flavor is up there too. I'm getting really good flavor. It might not look like much in photos or videos but it's a really decent RDA. I like it better than any of the Dead Rabbits.

When it rains, it pours. Sent out 2 orders today, got 2 more. Made a 15" 3×28/36+36 SFC(v) for one of the orders. I got 4 good coils from it. And tried a 2-core alien, my first squiggly wrap.

I find 3 core aliens to be easier for some reason. That's how I learned to do them.

I really don't like posting such sad news, but those of you that knew Vapin Trucker, ( Mike Caporale) He lost his battle with cancer this evening.

Prayers for all his family and friends. May you rest in peace Mike, you will be missed. :(

I am hoping it is alright to post this picture, it was posted on another forum I am on. Folks may recognize his picture if his name does not ring a bell.

Got my door almost complete for my PZLD Star Wars mod. Just need to pick up some micro mesh to finish it off. I was hoping to have it done before the 4th of this month, but too much stuff got in the way. Still designing a new fire button for it, thinking of putting the Emperial emblem on it.

Looks great! Would that happen to be 3D printed? I have been looking for a STL file for the SQ217. No luck yet

It is printed. I had to make the file for myself on this one. I did make a button for the SQ, but no doors yet. If I get some doors made up, I will try to remember to send you a PM with the files.

I finally got around to making and installing new coils in all four of my OTR (On The Road) squonks. 6 wrap 2x26/36 Ni80 fused Claptons that came in around 0.30 Ohms. All of my RSAs are single coil so they heat up well. The old coils were still functional even after a year, I was just too busy/lazy to change them... I just kept them clean and changed the wick.

I put new builds in two Elder Dragons. I got sick and tired of the Philips grub screws though. I don't know why but I never switched them out to hex head ones. I just found some of the right size and put them in there. I think they were the M2.5 size x 4mm that I got at FT. Much better now. I even dislike flat head screws but not as much as Philips.

I'm with you on that one!
You can get those hex screws at Amazon pretty cheap, I have a pretty good assortment of them. I change all of my RDAs out when I get them.

So how do you folks keep your hex wrenches organized? I just cringe when I see hex screws in an RDA, because then it's trial and error to find the right size (I've grabbed wrenches of various sizes and I keep them in a plastic pouch, inside a box, that's on the opposite side of my end table and a PITA to get to).

If the screws are flat head or phillips, it's easy peasy because I have those screwdrivers in my toolkit and I always know where they are.

I've been using one of the little orange t-wrenches things that came with one of my Griffin tanks years ago. There's mostly only two sizes. IIRC they're M2.5 and M3 but I could be wrong about that. Those little wrenches had one of those two sizes on each end.

Also, I got an electronics repair kit a while back. It sits close by in case I need anything out of it. It's got all kinds of different heads that plug into a small screw driver. I got a cheap one at Wal-Mart at first, but later got a better kit made by Klien tools.

I keep mine on the organizer they come with. These are the two types I have laying on my workbench all the time.

For all you builders out there:
lOyEAgF.jpg

Their wire is great. The spools are a bit small like wire optimal. The gauges and material on the labels should be printed bigger as well. Other than that, I like it.

I ended up getting some more N90 wires to try out. I've been using an N90 alien on my Squeezer mech squonk. Its 3x28/38, 5 wraps, 3mm ID. A coil with those specs made out of N80 wire would read approximately at .3Ω. With N90, it's at .19Ω. It fires fast and hits great. The flavor is really good as well.

I keep telling people there's so many ways to get to a certain resistance reading. People always post vague resistance readings and what wattage is expected.

I started making my own coils almost a year ago. I made alien coils for months last year. Every single stick I made had 3 cores. I've made wide fraliens but never an alien coil with 4 or more cores. Today I broke that trend and did some alien wires that are 4x29/38.

My alien wrap wasn't super clean like I'm used to but whatever (It had little micro-spaces in areas). I made one coil out of it and it's vaping awesome. No stale soda here lol. I had one wire collapse because I was day dreaming. I'll probably try 5 cores the next time.

Funny you mention N90. I replaced one of the cores in my tricore SFCs with N90 and the resistance went down a few ohms. I did it to experiment with resistance values and for artistic value. Also did the final fuse in SS. It turned out great. You also basically vape the same specs I do (3×28). Love your build photos.

My aliens turned blue a bit when I dry fired them. Love your photo! I haven't tried mixed types of wire for photos yet. Some of the stuff on Instagram makes me think some people are nuts.

Does this forum seem really dead to anyone? I know I haven't been posting as much as in the past. I have a feeling that there's lots of lurkers these days not saying anything lol.

It does seem slower than normal. I have been lurking a lot more than I normally do, but I have been really busy lately. After the weather got nicer, I find myself busy with projects that have built up over the winter and have a lot less time to browse the forums. I wouldn't be surprised to hear a few others are experiencing something similar.

Today, I superglued some paper towel to my finger.

Not what I was TRYING to do, of course...was trying to put a magnet in the door of a squonker I bought used that needed a door magnet. I just didn't realize the superglue would go through the paper. Felt HOT, too as it bonded. Got it mostly off, without any pain or skin-ripping, so it's all good.

Went to a vape exhibit yesterday. Not really much to see since its 98% pods, but still it was nice to see vendors go OMG when they see me like they have never seen the world before.

I only bought my fush and my puff boy out. Didn't think I need to bring out my cloned or any other useful mods.

Event was free as it was a buyers event and I was the very few non buyers. Also I'm one of the few regular vapors with big vape mods. A lot of hot air balloon guys out there, like I'm not an expert or pro but I been vaping since 2012/2013. Like a lot of my knowledge comes from tuition pay aka buying shit and lot of these guys havent even seen a box mod in real life until this show. Funny story, some dude was talking about how he's original in the vape scene as he been vaping since 2018, i looked at him and said that the start of the China pod market bro. He then ask me how long I been vaping and I said for 8 years bro, your not that OG. Then they vent looked surprised as fuck lol.

Not much to see but u know it was nice chance to meet girls lol. Kind like the feeling of how ppl have never seen the world before

Took a picture, vaped, thought about tangy gummy worm flavors for ejuice. Not saying I'll copy their exact formula but might piddle and get a close "cover" of theirs. The worms they make are yummy to me, not sure if the flavors would vape well but what they hey, why not try? :D

I take it those are gaming systems? I thought I knew a little something about PCs, but those are different animals indeed.

Water cooled? Graphics systems must generate a helluva lot of heat.

I'll admit to being a dinosaur - one of my first encounters with computers was an IBM 360 mainframe that had water pipes underneath the floor to cool it down. That computer plus the disk storage and printers wouldn't fit in my living room! The first laser printer I ever saw was the size of about six filing cabinets. It had its own programming language, so sometimes there were some interesting things coming out of it as people learned how to use it!
They sound like great all around systems, for gaming or video editing given the high core count cpu's he's got in there. Or any task that can make use of lots of processing cores. Performance gpu (graphics cards) are great for gaming but can help in other situations as well. Streaming, boosting video editing, offloading some rendering jobs. Probably has more $$ in that 3090 than I have in my entire system lol.

Water cooling is one way to go. It does pull heat quickly away from hot components, if it's slightly over radded (using multiple larger radiators than what's actually necessary) it can allow a user to run more fans, more cooling surface and therefor run the fans slower/quieter and still achieve good cooling. The single fan on my aging gpu sounds like a fricken tornado when gaming. Water cooling still has some limitations, when the system's been running awhile the coolant will reach equilibrium in terms of temp and like any air cooling can only cool as well as ambient air temps allow. If the room is hot the system is going to run hotter. Vs active cooling like a peltier system (like ac for pc components). But those have their own issues with condensation and needing to work around that.

Or you could go with big air coolers, usually my weapon of choice.

1621365132746.png

6.4" tall x 5.4" x 5.9" weighing 2.64lbs. 2 fans, one in front and one in the middle. Even when my quad core cpu is overclocked by quite a bit and under heavy load the cooler really doesn't struggle much. Stays slow and quiet. I finally got the fans to spin up harder and was able to hear them but I had to turn off every other fan in the case and run the processor overclocked under a stress test on a hot day. A ridiculous situation it would never run in normally. But not everyone likes coolers that large or bulky, they can be a pain to mount. I just install my processor and ram to the motherboard out of the pc case, then set the cooler on a table. Flip the motherboard upside down and lower it onto the cooler.

Vape related, currently running some bottle squeeze tops and caps, a couple small plastic bottles and a beaker through the ultrasonic. Cleaning stuffs up for mixing. No dice on the flask, just a little too big to fit in the ultrasonic. No biggie.

Kind of been in the "just vaped" boat a bit. Other than recharging batteries, refilling squonk bottles that's about all I been doing. I do a minor cleaning when I open the mods to refill bottles or replace batteries. Nothing has really looked to warrant a break it all down cleaning so far. Will likely do that for some units soon anyway. For the time though, just vaping.

Finally finished up the juice in one of my Dvarw DL clones and broke the tank down, cleaned and rewicked it. It is much improved.

Next comes the Zeus X Mesh that's had coffee flavors in it for a while. I can just imagine what it looks like on the inside. Blech!

Ended up cleaning out my expromizer and manta rta's. Mixed some cornbread pudding but switched it up a bit from big red's recipe. Replaced the 3% tfa cheescake graham crust with 2% tfa graham cracker clear and 1% inw yes, we cheesecake. Cgc has an odd distinctive flavor to it that I'm not sure I'm a huge fan of. Immediately recognizable. Tried a variation on the bombies nana cream clone I vape a lot of, it's not bad so far. Not sure if I like it more than the other version I've been using. Mixed up a lava flow remix, sadboy butter cookie remix but swapped blood orange for the lemon. Not a huge lemon fan. A tribeca clone and mixed up some with hangsen virginia tobacco for mtl.

Made up some basic claptons for the manta rta. I don't know why I even try round wire builds in dual coil wider airflow atomizers. They just seem to struggle, burn my wick when I turn up the wattage and the flavor is piddly. Laziness I guess. Still not large coils, 2.5mm id 26/38 claptons 7 wraps. Amazing what the clapton wrap does for it, essentially the same I had in there. Like 9 or 10 wrap 26ga, but the flavor nearly doubled. I was wondering why the juice I just mixed up seemed so weak on flavor. If I had any sense (which I rarely do) I'd make up some extra coils or wire shots to have on hand instead of just throwing small roundwire coils into stuff.

Round 2 with the Coilturds RDA is a smashing success. I made some SFC coils for it with 42ga N80 on 27GA cores. That 42ga wire is friggen tiny. I used magnification and couldn't tell if I was making spaced clapton wire at all. I just went with it and used some Jedi skills. I needed to use the power of the force.

The regular cap was too warm on a copper tube. I got a set of cloud caps that work perfect for this. They're not super pretty anymore but this is delicious:

Impressive. The thinnest wire I've used so far is 40 and that's just for flat claptons. I've staggered 38g,but not 40. Beautiful work

Why not try throwing some small round wire parallel coils into stuff? That seems to work quite well for me.....

Even parallels don't really seem to do much for me for direct lung. Not for flavor. Maybe because the thickest gauge stainless wire I've got is 26ga? I thought I had some 24ga someplace but can't recall seeing it the last few times. Could be I misplaced it. I did try some parallel round in my expromizer mtl rta but I toyed with a staged coil, 26 and 28ga alternating. To see if it boosted flavor and I don't think that's working for me either. Not for mtl, results in either wispy vapor turned down lower or a hotter vape than I enjoy for mtl. Need to stick to thinner round wire gauge for that one.

Don't know if it really qualifies for something I 'did' other than enter a giveaway on fb. I never have great luck with contests in general, never have. And have only entered into maybe 5-6 giveaway type deals for vape stuff in the 5yrs I've been vaping. Entered into one looking for 'testers' for the new mongrel subway edition and won! Pretty damn awesome. Plus got a really nice shoutout from Deuces Jack during his live vid, so that made my day.

The original mongrel is one of my favorites and about the only flaw I could find was the wicking reservoir 'cups' on either side of the airflow were separate. Works great as a squonk because the juice ports feed juice right to the bottom of the wicks. For dripping if juice gets dripped down the center it gets trapped in the airflow chamber. The subway edition made some improvements and cut small channels crossways so any juice in the airflow can now flow out to the wicking recesses solving that issue. Along with newer colors and slight changes in the airflow.

He's doing his best to promote his new YT channel Deuces Jack Reviews since Vaping Insider is shutting down their YT channel. They said he could upload stuff for free on his dime but they're retaining control and won't let him have the channel after he built it up. So he's basically lost his almost 59K subs and having to start over from scratch. Which sucks. Especially during a time when so many shops and reviewers are packing it in.

Saw an add for a 20% off sale at MFS, they're closing up. Chris at IndoorSmokers has been pretty quiet lately, putting his energy into another venture selling and trying to build his own brand of e-bike. Jai Haze has already had to stop selling things in Jersey and closed up his shops and now is leaving YT in favor of a paid only video reviewer. (Who didn't see that coming). Just sucks to see reviewers struggling, pretty soon it won't just be flavors or vendors or diy supply houses closing down, we'll start losing reviewers as well.

Put a new coil in the expromizer, just a basic 28g stainless at 2.5mm id and 9 wraps at .86 ohms and 18w. Much much better, not making me cough and shit like that small staged coil.

Rebuilt a Meshlock RDA today using VV mesh from a roll. Had to do some trimming, but it's all good in the end. Coil came out at 0.35 ohms and it vapes well.

The old mesh that I took out had a hot spot on it; apparently I had nicked it at some point and the mesh got a tiny tear in it.
