Oh no... I am still taking them as prescribed. It has only been a week since I went the ER with the finger full of pus. They know not to prescribe clindamycin, since it stops me from being able to pee... ever. I'd rather not have to wear a catheter and bag again.
The prescription I got is enough to last 20 days. By then, they will know what type of infection it is. If it ain't cured by then, they will know what to do.

Sounds like you have better doctors there than we have here. Clindamycin is really strong, so I guess it's not surprising that you have problems with it. I can't take erythromycin - it makes me barf my guts out. It's always something, eh? lol

I'm happy you have confidence in your doctors. I'll hush up now. Just so used to being "Mom," I think I try to be everybody's mom.

In day 4 of another lockdown here with only a 5km travel limit even though, again like the last one just weeks ago, we have no covid here, have had no covid here for over a year and are over 160 ks from where it is. For the whole state they have done this even though there are zero in hospital with covid and zero deaths anywhere. Many shops shut again, wear masks everywhere, only allowed to shop for essentials and 2 hrs outside exercise. I get it where the covid is and if it was traced here but they are destroying small business's here for no good reason. Many shops have closed for good and have been needlessly wiped out creating more unemployment than ever in ours, which already was, a struggling region. Just heard they are probably going to extend the lockdown even further here.

Whats the ticker problem they are looking into?
Good luck with it whatever it is.
Just watching the news. Yay another week of lockdown.

Heart is just quick

Pulse usually upwards of 110

My guess is too much caffeine and 300mg+ daily nicotine (6ml of 50mg)

Yeah that is quick. Mine at rest is mid 60s.
Time to switch to decaf.
Good luck.

The "good reason" is helping enforce the "nanny state". Remember, you "need government/s". *cough, cough* You may have governments but you all wonder why life's so bad. Well you are still in chaos. Governments only exacerbate chaos by trying to create order out of it. Entropy for the win by hat trick I say.

Morning!

Well, Hubby decided to come home a few days early, his RA was kicking in. Glad he's home, and Jessie has been following him around like a puppy! She's talking to him a lot, telling all about what happened when he was gone. Fun to watch.

I went over to the kid's house a few days ago to meet their new kitten! She's only about 5 weeks old, very tiny. We're thinking she might be a runt. Daughter's friend found her in the middle of a street and grabbed her. She's so cute! I left a vape there, so the kids are coming over today to return it. Knowing my daughter the tank will be empty, lol.

Stay safe and healthy  :tigercat:

Proof that furry Hillbillies can fit anywhere. *chuckles*

Having worked in the poultry plant, found myself being confused for Asian, Hispanic, Russian, Pole, Arabic. One night a Lao fellow I was friends with tried getting me deported to Cambodia.

*chuckles* The young I.C.E agent was nearly about to have me drug out until his senior partner asked me to take off my "hard" hat.

Got called the tallest Mexican that had been seen. I explained I was on the Mexican Olympic basketball team. *chuckles*

Wearing my full beard I got told I could pass for Bin Laden. *chuckles*

*smh* Easy enough to go anywhere, settle in if you're not one to rock boats. I'm sure you're aware of the universal hand gesture language. "Show me to work", "Show me to wash & sleep", "Show me to eat", once you got those basics down life can move along easier.

It's all a jungle or desert. :)

I was thinking about going on a little rant bordering on the topic, and then thought otherwise because of that rule. It's just one of those things you can't talk about without someone getting all butt hurt, and that includes mods here.

We can however talk about buff Kangaroo's and other crazy critters! And. .I have seen them like that where I am...and avoid them too.
Twice yrs ago when I had hunting dogs and did hunt them as meat for my dogs, my bully cross coolie, was an awesome hunter dog, chased them into rivers. Those big buck Roos were not stupid. My dog, Jake, was a never give up, and twice I called him off and out as the over 6 foot Roo went out deep and waited for him then with its arms pushed his head under the water to drown him. Wheh he'd come up id yell "Jakey Jake, back mate, no, back!" He always listened and did what I said. But no ifs those big Roos are not stupid and will drown a dog on purpose. They know exactly what they are doing. Most are ok, 99.9%, and will avoid things. But the loner big males are the ones to avoid. They can disembowel a dog or person easy. But even then thats rare. Thankfully. Because they are serious solid units. I used to hunt them. You wouldn't want a big rogue Roo go you ever. I was once sized up yrs ago, I looked away and walked away.

I guess I'll never meet a roo, but I have met a big ol grizzly on a trail. I was shocked, nervous, and time slowed down as it stood up. The only thing that came to mind was "I am a mountain lion. Scream at it". When I did, the darn thing ran up the mountain crashing through tree branches like it had just been shot at. I have no idea what my options would have been if that idea failed. I probably would have been that bear's meal.

I wonder... pit a contest between one of your big bull roos and one of our grizzlies.

Got chased by a mama Bob cat once. Ran and slid under a pickup as three fellows opened fire to bring her down. Next day the game warden come and let me take them back to its den, took the cubs out to safety.

Once swam with an aligator in some swamp. Didn't know it until the rough log ahead of me rolled out from under me. Heard a bark (I know they don't exactly bark, but cannot really give a clearer word to their grr-ing.) then a loud snap. Tell you this poor boy climbed the air and got on back to shore.

Fears no critter but bad enough I'm a mutant, don't need mutilated. :)

I should also avoid talk of the thing. It has been a bit lenient on the rule for Aussie and international "thing" previously, because it didn't tend to flare anyone up so much. So mods have let me and smigo go a bit with it

I'd take my chances every day against a buck Roo. I would be horiffied coming face to face with your Grizzlies. I read that one, grizzly, dragged a camper out of their tent and killed them recently there. No I dont fear coming across a big Roo. I would though fear for my life doing the same with a Griz!

Maaaate, how is this winter here! Crazy, I can't recall such a long wet winter ever. It hasn't goy above 11c where we are for weeks. Again today was just 8. And I waited to go to the shops till 2pm.
Yeah I think they have let us have a whinge about it here. Covid.
How you doing there, your heart stuff? Also your mum, think I recall you look after her, hoping all good Doggy.
Speaking of Doggies....how good was Jamarra kicking 3, wow they were bomb kicks like Buddy kicks! Now I get why they compare him to Buddy. I heard one of the commentators say "wow could he have kicked it any higher". That kick was awesome. He'll be a star for sure. Great pick he is 100%
Go Dogs!

In other news, ...

Had a doc visit in P'berg yesterday around noon. Wife works there so we figured meeting up for lunch might be good. It's been a while since we'd had a quality meal from a quality place. We decided on Olive Garden.

Me, her, her dad and her sister had a good lunch respectively. The bill was around $60, wife left a very generous tip so it come out closer to $80. I didn't and won't fuss. When we eat there it's the "whole package" we pay for, the atmosphere, service, food quality.

It's always worth what we pay when visit Olive Garden. Not that we find ourselves going there any time too often. It is a real treat. :) I give her dad $5 for fuel, saying I would have offered more but we had got him a lunch. He chuckled, "lunch hell, that was a feast." So he was glad I even offered that for fuel.

And the doc visit was "well, you're you. See you next year." No issues at all. Yay.

Salt water crocodile might be only native with a hope against a grizzly

I think that a roo might at least stand a chance against a black bear. But not a big brown one
Heck. I used to kick back and watch the black bears, even with their cubs... just doing what black bears do, at a safe distance of course. They knew I was there, and they knew I wasn't going to be a threat to them. As for that grizzly, we just met each other by accident on a trail coming around a bend. You can't run. You can't hide. Forget about climbing a tree or playing dead.

Back on the 2nd for detailed ultrasound

I had that one several months ago. Its freaky hearing it pump and the different sounds. Im laying there my usual pessimistic self thinking "oh no that doesn't sound good. Whats those squishy sounds they can't be right, think of something else" Days later my Dr says " all seems ok, valves are good just a mild thickening of the left wall. Cut back your salt and exercise more, eat less processed foods and fat". Apparently those freaky sounds were not freaky after all.
They checked because after my fall and follow up xrays they unexpectedly found I had borderline enlarged heart. I have zero symptoms though of any failure bar a bit of a hickup in the rhythm now n then they noticed. It could have been a result of the fall which was a bad one, maybe just how I am, as is they said well have a look in several months time.

Good luck

My mother found out she has afib after her fall in which she broke her wrist. They tried 3 times to reset her heart, and failed all 3 times. I picked up a pamphlet about afib from my doctor's office for her and had her read it. Now, she understands that as long as she just takes her mdicatons, she has nothing to worry about.
Her heart doctor tried to make it sound like it's a really big deal, and she needs all kinds of stuff done. It sounds like he just wants to bill her insurance for as much as possible. She is at the point right now where she will tell him off if he says he wants to perform surgeries that she does not think are necessary. Quite frankly, I agree with her.

Tuesday I get some results. Then 2nd August is the proper EchoCardioGram

I guess that those will influence anything
A lot of stuff can be naturally reversed or held in check by lifestyle changes. The stuff they looked at for me was similar to yours.
Even the thickening can be by diet changes and exercise. Im on decaf these days, my salt intake is down by 2/3, I stopped eating processed meats, cut dairy down by 80% and I walk 3 ks a day. Im not on any meds at all for any of it.
Hopefully my check up down the track shows a payoff for those changes.
Can happen to anyone. I grew up superfit, boxed for yrs, still love my outdoors and bushwalking. Probably was my liking for foods that didnt like me.

I'm not quite sure why they haven't given you a beta blocker already, but what do I know?

My average pulse used to be about 115, for the majority of my adult life until I was about 48, then doc put me on a beta blocker which lowered my blood pressure, and my average pulse now is about 65.

I'm pretty damn impressed that anyone here could decipher that scribble. Kudos to @~Don~ and his wife.

Hope you're doing better soon., @DogMan

Morning!

It's a little overcast this morning, feels kinda good. Front door is open, have the fan goint to circulate the fresh air. Jessie has her nose stuck on the screen door waiting for a bug.

Hubby has had a rough few days, the humidity is messing with his RA. We don't have humidity here, this is very unusual! He's feeling better this morning, though. He'll be out in his workshop pretty soon.

The kids will be over later, they're bring their new tiny kitty over for us to play with! Goblin is about 6 weeks old now, eats like crazy. She can travel pretty fast for such a little thing! We still think she's a runt because, while she is growing some, she looks like a 4 week old. Maybe Jessie will come out to meet her.

DogMan, we're crossing our fingers for you!

Stay safe and healthy

I'd just like to say that I hope, if anyone lives in areas where Covid cases are spiking again, and he/she is not vaccinated, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE reconsider and go get your shots.

At this point, the adults who are unvaccinated are not only putting other unvaccinated adults at risk, they are putting YOUNG CHILDREN who CANNOT get vaccinated at risk. If you won't do it for youself, please do it for the kids that you're exposed to. At this point the only thing they can do to protect themselves is to wear masks.

I am so worried about out kids under 12. I think of my young grandkids and it just scares me half to death.

I completely understand where you are coming from with this. Unfortunately, there are those that actually go out and protest (with signs and banners) against vaccines. Some people actually believe that a higher power will shield them from all diseases, and getting vaccinated means they do not truly believe.

Others have been fed so much disinformation that they are deathly afraid of vaccines altogether. Either way, logic can no longer make any sense to some people. Science is considered nonsense and doctors are the devil. People are out there competing for the Darwin Award.

My echo and follow up after the scans because of where I live was going to take 4 months before I saw someone. So was "yeah there could be an issue with your heart, we'll look at it in 4 months and see" In the mean time I was told "now if you feel like your having a heart attack go straight to the hospital"
Luckily a nurse gave me some numbers to try so I rang around and got in to the hospital in Bendigo which was just a 3 week wait.
Drop the caffeine too mate its not great if your heartbeats too high.

apparently holter monitor was perfectly normal, including heart rate

verdict on that is that i don't like doctors, they make me anxious

stress echo said that i am unfit, but apparently none of the acronyms are particularly worrisom. He knows i walk every morning, and said that is good but up the pace. Add a little jog if possible

so, that's good
