They’ll lull you onto a false sense of security….then eat all your donuts, candy, chips, regular carby soda, honey…and when that runs out the will snort lines of sugar ….big, fat lines of sugar…powdered preferred but grainy sugar works as well…then when their blood sugar hits stoopid high levels they will get snarky and nasty with you and EVERYTHING is your fault….you normal blooded “oh look, my pancreas works just fine” bastard.

All in all my type 1 is in pretty good control but I do work at it. My dad was a goofy type 1 they labeled as “brittle” back in the day. No rhyme or reason for his up’s and downs and god bless him for passing a little bit of that on to me…but not to the extreme he experienced.
Kidneys are a sore subject for me right now. My brother was diagnosed with lung cancer a year ago…went through chemo, radiation, immunity…and was given a thumbs up that it appeared to be contained. He had blood in his urine and went to the doc a little bit ago……….kidney cancer. Not telling our 94 year old mom. But he very sternly wanted me to know that he wasn’t going through all of that again. Said he would take care of it on his own terms and I’m not to question it because I just don’t know how it is. I don’t like that……..but I get it.
