And that's my point. Startup companies shouldn't use customer money to open the doors with. That is what the concept has evolved into due to nature of the fast growing number of people getting into the vaping business. Pre-order sales should be used as a means of locking in guaranteed orders so that you can then go to your manufacturing partners with legitimate income revenue expectations. I'm not trying to upset anyone but if you don't have the necessary financial capital to get a company off the ground then maybe there should be another plan in place rather than using customer's money before delivery.

And that's kinda my point, if you are handing over money on a pre order, to a start up company, you already know you are paying start up cost. Doesn't really matter how it should be, you know what it is. And you make a decision to assist a start up or wait till they have product. I have no dog in this fight. But people knew pre orders were funding a start up. There is risk in that, along with hope.

I couldn't agree more. That's the first thing I thought would happen after hearing/reading about the smog scandal. Seriously, why would a serious company parade him out to speak for them???

Edit It may all be on the up and up, but I think a serious company would have at least hid him on the sidelines until the uproar about the scandal died down. It just doesn't make any sense.

That in a nutshell is the main problem. Even if they actually end up delivering the Whiteout. After all this nonsense, I can't see them staying in business. The main selling point is down to 2 things:
1. Being big enough to be able to use as a garage to park your car
2. Being Modular

That's worthless if they aren't in business to make any add-ons. I have to really wonder just how many customers are left from the original preorders? Hell half were probably wiped out from the smog fiasco. Must have been another big amount of cancellations/charge-backs after the repeated delays and what can only be described as aloof attitude towards their customers. Not a rosey picture..

I know some were not as lucky as I in being able to get a refund via their bank.

it depends on what you want out of a mod. the vsdna200 plusses are size(fits in my shirt pocket with an rda), 2a charging(dead to full in 45minutes) and weight- its light as a feather.
the negatives are- battery life- 5-6 hours on a charge @ 50w adv after i tweaked the settings, but i still rely on that 2a charging to get me through a day. since its a lipo its unrealistic to swap out the battery. another plus though is support, mike and phillipe at vaporshark are both fantastic to deal with. when my dna40 was giving me issues they were sending me replacements before they got my bad ones.
if you need battery life and/or vape at or above 100w i would strongly suggest the jaybo/wismec realoux or the gingervapes dna200 both use 3, 18650s and with the LGHG2 batteries youre looking at getting substantially longer battery life, most people are getting a full day and into the next. another option coming up will be the Hcigar 133, its the same board but with 1, 18650s giving you 133w and looks a lot like the ipv4.

I'm not trying to persuade you away from vaporshark, I'm a fanboy, but, there are better less expensive options. this thing is fantastic for form factor, and probably the best out there for size weight, but, like i said that comes with the cost of battery life.

I believe the Boxer (Ginger Vapes) is two 18650's or a 3s Lipo. The two 18650 option isn't cheap. I've never understood why it's more expensive than the 3s Lipo model since it's:

A brief update since we have heard on the progress from the factory and forwarder - they worked through the LiPo testing (a regulatory testing and labeling issue) and I have been told the units are poised to go out of the country tomorrow.

We have also learned the hard way to never take dates given to us for gold, so - while we are passing on the information that is given to us - know that it could be shorter or longer.

When they do hit our warehouse, we will be turning them around nearly immediately. My educated guess given the information we have now would be receiving this batch of units between Friday and Monday. Should we manage to get the shipment before Christmas day, you can bet we will be in the warehouse in our santa hats getting the Whiteouts out the door.

In the mean time, I am spending the next day meeting up with a few long-time supporters local to me so we can release a few of these units in the wild!
