We did the absolutely nada that I had anticipated; got the groceries (and forgot those damn hotdogs! AARGH!), had some Stouffers and some hash browns, and watched an old movie that we both love -- Glimmer Man. Of all Seagal's cheesy movies, that one is my favorite, it's actually funny -- thanks to Keenan Ivory.

It was raining all evening, even around midnight, so we didn't go out and watch any fireworks or fire the shotgun... but a lot of our neighbors apparently didn't care about the cold rain, and were out raising hell so that our cat spent the evening variously in the footwell of my desk or under my husband's bed, or just running around with an alarmed look. :giggle:

Happy 2017, errybody. It's gotta be better than 2016.

We do actually have one method of "getting wild" during the holidays -- all kinds of yummy goodies that we normally don't keep a lot of -- those pirouline things, dark chocolate inside some kind of crunchy pastry tube; some amazing homemade choc-chip muffins with that amazing crunchy sugary stuff on top; egg nog, though it's the "light" kind, lower fat, and of course "virgin" - no alcohol; ice cream bars, the ones with the crunchy chocolate around vanilla ice cream; and we DID have some chocolate covered cherries, but I ate the last one last night. :p Walmart didn't have any, they've already got fucking Valentine candy out! :facepalm: :facepalm::facepalm:

No beef. I was attempting to joke in similar vien as you. Perl Buck wrote The Good Earth, which I have read. One thing which struck me was Buck's use of the various forms of the word well. "All was well with him." "Well, he thought long and hard about it." "The well was deep." Buck uses the word well extensively, and only mildly excessively imho. Thought you would have grasped the humor in the emphasis, my own, of the word itself as well. Sorry for making the effort at being friendly and joking.

By the by it's this kind of shit what makes people like me decide to say fuck it with any form of social interaction, online or off line. You're talking away with someone thinking they're able to stay abreast, to understand you when they wind up dropping the ball and winding up going all psycho on you, then making you feel like a damn creep, or some fucking idiot, mutant, inbred fuck for even bothering. The fact is it's their damn lack of understanding that is the problem, but oh how you have to suck it up and be the better person, accept the blame of it. Fuck that, just don't bother at all, stay locked up inside yourself.

So yeah, I'll definitely be fucking off as it seems I'm very much keen to be a misunderstood person in many a forum. Thanks for reminding me of that sad fact.

Guess so, thought there was good nature joking afoot. Can admit that I too often don't understand people. Seems a two way situation all the time. Ultimately though I've had too many misunderstandings to count, kind of says something in itself. I'm just not fit to be around folks I guess.

Everyone is here to have fun, enjoy. Guess when it becomes not that for someone, time they move on. Too much clouded talk and too much negative feel. Not too fun or enjoyable for me. Run 'er slow.

Before anyone says I don't need to go, yes, I do. Staying would only mean I had to self edit, police anything I put forward, censor myself. That's not what I'm here to do, it's not enjoyable for myself or any others who do happen to understand me, like me, get along. So, yes, I do need to go.

Happy 2017 to all my fugee friends and GFY :D

The rain stopped long enough for a few to set off some big fireworks around here so Rascal rang in the New Year barking in my ear at them, :giggle:

After that it got a bit weird around here. Sounded like a freight train going thru my 5 acre field behind my house. Then a few minutes later it sounded like it again but lighter. Not sure if a tornado or funnel cloud was in the area or not but it was weird. Lots of thunder and lightning at the time.

After reading through the last few pages, I can see why new people who come to this forum for the first time claim it's a hostile place even though this thread is just one thread amongst many here. I know for the most part, it's kept me from posting more the last few days. :(

Had not crossed my mind as such. Like I said, I was attempting to joke around with someone I thought and perceived as joking around. From what I recall they only directly told me to fuck off once. I ought to have perhaps seen that in another manner but did not. All in all too much damn confusion, botched communication, misunderstanding has genuinely messed up any fun and enjoyment to be present here for me. others. I do a great bit of self censorship as it is, to only need to do further would shut everything down at any given, the same as me just not being here. *sighs* I will be off lurking a good bit now as it's clear I need to step off a spell. I might have viewed everything here fully wrong. Aw well, poop happens.

Bob, I appreciate your view on this and in some ways I do agree. In other ways though I'm mature enough to admit that perhaps I do have some hand in how things got misconstrued. The only justification I have sounds more an excuse the more it's said, I'm human and subject to erring. Not wanting a crutch I can take the higher path out of the ditch we find ourselves in at present. That just means though, I'll have to be a lot more cautious in posting, a lot less frequently. Hell, I have life beyond the forums, all of us do I'm sure. Not quite a world ending here, merely some folk not quite seeing what is, is the same. :) That happens again according to my justification, we're all human. :)

It wasn't you at all....from what I've read. There's just seems to be a bit of hostility here that I don't see in other forums. And I'm not trying to start a fight here with anyone, it's more of a casual observation. Had I not already been here, if I came as a newbie in the last couple of days, I wouldn't stay or post in this thread. :)

There are a few threads around here that I've stopped watching, just for that reason. But in here... if someone ticks me off, I'll just tell 'em to bite me. :D I'm a refugee from Butthole Central like the rest of the fugees, so here I stay. And won't be getting rid of my Refugee banner either; I was very happy, for the most part, at ECF, till retarded1 showed his ass in my direction; he fucking chased me out of there with his gratuitous suspension, and I'd tell anyone the same -- ECF isn't too bad, it's the moderators there who make it HELL. And I guess that means that the OWNER over there doesn't give a shit how many people his precious moderators offend. He can fuck off, too.

Well, I may be in the minority, but I like Snakey, personally. I think he just had a few bad days, because he's not normally like that.

Even if I disagree vehemently with him about non-smokers vaping. :giggle:
